What a wonderful place! If we had known that before, we wouldn't have stayed just for one night. Evenings in the pool with this light are a dream. Listening to the birds in the morning is wonderful. And Markus is a super nice landlord. We would mist definitely visit again.

The central area, or Lapa, is shown with its distinct thatched roof and surrounding outdoor space. A wooden deck extends from the structure, accented by sparse vegetation and tall Camelthorne trees. Chairs and tables are arranged for relaxation, set against a backdrop of the open grasslands.

An absolute gem! Unspoilt nature in rustic yet extremely comfortable, well maintained and clean accommodation. Although power sources are solar and gas, you still have all the comforts of home - just better because it is so amazingly quiet and peaceful…and the stars…oh, my goodness…incredible night sky!!

Khamkirri - River Tent 2 - 4 Sleeper

Ruaan was an excellent and friendly host! He phoned me while we were still on our way to make sure everything was going well. He gave my husband clear instructions on how to get to the camp as it was a dirt road with a few turns and small signs. I fell in LOVE with the place the moment we got to our tent. We had a stunning view of the river. The tent it self is well set up and very comfortable. We had very nice sundowner cocktails and a delicious dinner in the restaurant while watching the sunset. We were woken up every morning by my favorite raptors -fisheagles. Ruaan also recommend for us to go to the RiemvasmaakHot Spring. It was an interesting drive and so beautiful. Khamkirri is truly a little piece of Heaven on earth and I will recommend it to everyone. We really hope we can return one day and will definitely stay longer than 2 days.

I loved my stay at Askiesbos! I was here for a month to conduct research in Nxamasere. I arrived much later in the day than I originally estimated, but Dammann and Hettie stayed in close contact with me and Dammann was waiting for me at the gate to welcome me upon arrival. They were extremely hospitable and made me feel very comfortable during my stay. They also supported my research by allowing me to use the beautiful lounge area for some of my data elicitation sessions (not to mention providing a reliable internet connection and power source, which goes a long way in my field!). The chef, Titi, cooks fantastic food that feels like dining out at a restaurant. I would definitely recommend staying here for vacations or for work.

Beautiful place to relax after Etoscha for two days. The peace and seclusion was just right. Just do nothing. Lots of birds, lots of animals, and we took the opportunity to grill. Markus helped us with firewood, ignition, and good hints on where we can get our meat in Tsumeb. The kitchen had everything we needed and Markus & Erika provided the essentials for cooking spices etc. We sincerely appreciate it. The pool to cool off has rounded off the stay. Overall, we had two beautiful nights in nature that were another highlight for us on our Nambia trip.
