Family-friendly vacation rentals in Kalahari Desert

A home away from home! It was a very awesome place to stay with my family. The staff was so nice and helpful. I definitely recommend.

Wonderful old farm house with many original features. Lovely peaceful setting and very good value for money. Great for families & groups. Even has an outside play area for children. The workman on site (think Jacobus) was welcoming and attentive. He even lit of fire for us. Some might find the bathrooms rather dated, but this didn't bother me. Would love to return.

We had a really special time, at this big home. The staff went out of their way to make us all comfortable and at home. The gardens were lovely and the pool area was amazing! My boys had a blast swimming and running around without us having to worry about them disturbing other guests. The beds were super comfy and the lounges were tastefully decorated. We also enjoyed our coffee in the mornings on the verandah facing the Chobe river.

Stunning flat in an ideal location in the middle of Windhoek. We were two couples visiting from the UK for a couple of nights and it was ideal for us. Comfortable beds and quiet at night. Spacious living area. Secure parking. Super helpful and friendly host too :) Would definitely recommend this place.

Fabulous historic house with plenty of amenities. Irene and Rob were also wonderful hosts. We loved their garden and array of succulent plants. Would stay with them again!

Wir haben dort eine Nacht verbracht und hatten eine wirklich wunderbare Zeit. Das Haus selbst war einfach perfekt für uns. Es war sauber, gemütlich und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Betten waren sehr bequem, und wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Die Küche hatte alles, was wir brauchten, und wir konnten problemlos unsere Mahlzeiten zubereiten. Der Wohnbereich war ebenfalls sehr einladend, und wir haben dort viel Zeit damit verbracht, uns zu entspannen und die schöne Umgebung zu genießen. Die Lage des Hauses war ebenfalls ideal. Es war ruhig und friedlich, aber dennoch in der Nähe von allem, was wir brauchten. Wir konnten leicht die Gegend erkunden und hatten einen tollen Spaziergang durch die Natur. Es war wirklich der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für unsere kleinen Abenteuer. Was jedoch wirklich herausragend war, war die Gastfreundschaft. Sie waren so freundlich und hilfsbereit und haben wirklich dafür gesorgt, dass wir uns wie zu Hause fühlten. Wir danken Ihnen nochmals für alles!

Fantastic stay. Right on the beach. Quiet and clean. Laurette was great and helped me out finding a dentist while i was in town. Would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

This property was as described and was in beautiful surroundings by the river. We felt very safe, it was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The caretaker is always available to assist. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms comfortable with nice views onto the river. We enjoyed the plunge pool for sundowners. We would highly recommend this property and hope to return.

Sese’s place is great and matches the description. Everything was clean, AC in bedroom works great and the shower is hot. I read a review that it takes 40 minutes for the water to get hot, didn’t time it but is probably closer to 10-15 minutes. Sese met me at the airport and we took a taxi to the house. Once I had the location getting a taxi to anywhere I wanted to go was very east as there is a main road less than a minute walk away with a constant flow of taxis (8 pula or 30 for a special). She also messaged periodically to see how I was doing or if I need anything. She is a very responsive and present host (while giving the privacy of the private guest home on the property). I would certainly stay here again. Nice house that is easy to get to anywhere from (including airport) and is good value for the price. Much nicer than a room in a guest house.

De self catering accommodatie is enorm aan te raden voor een stop over. Prettige ontvangst, zeer ruim, vriendelijk en het gevoel welkom te zijn!

Quite area & a short ride to either of the 2 main malls in the country. The place is clean & the host is very responsive. For this stay, the host really went above and beyond to help me solve an unrelated matter with my car.

This property is quiet and safe and conveniently located on the C27 in a desert landscape among beautiful rolling hills. We were offered the use of the kitchen in the main house which was much appreciated. The host, Leslie is very friendly and engaged us in interesting conversations. We recommend this property as a peaceful stay on a working farm. We wish we could have explored it further, but we needed to be on our way.

Erika has a great place in Windhoek. Up a hill with a view and a nice pool to cool down from the Namibian heat. She’s very friendly and also her staff is welcoming. Petrus took us on a tour to Windhoek and brought us to places where the locals go. The apartment is very nice with a good bed , shower and a terrace outside. Would come back without a doubt.

We had a super nice stay with Xandra in Windhoek! Xandra's place was cozy and perfectly situated to explore all that Windhoek has to offer. The accommodation was comfortable and well-appointed, ensuring we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Thank you, Xandra, for making our visit so memorable—we would have loved to stay longer!

We stayed one night at Savanna Guest Farm on our way south, and it was definitely a welcome stop. Erich and his staff are friendly hosts. The unit was as described. We opted for the dinner and breakfast (additional cost), and both were excellent. The farm is in a beautiful corner of Namibia and it was a unique experience. We highly recommend Savanna Guest Farm to travellers as a way to break up the long distances.

Nous avons pu goûter des spécialités locales et avons été particulièrement bien intégré durant ses périodes de fêtes de fin d’année. Communication from our side wasn‘t easy due to lack of mobile reception on the roads. We arrived at night time under bad road conditions, afraid about causing inconvenience. Carina and Danny helped us staying relaxed, offering help in case we got stuck/ lost on the way. We want to express our appreciation for the attention given to our specific dietary preferences. We enjoyed every minute on the farm, especially these where Carina and Danny had the time to join us. We had great conversations in which we learned a lot about the country, the people and the life in Namibia. They also gave great advice on how to make the best out of our stay. We felt very welcome and wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely come back! Thank you so much.

Great apartment, I felt right at home. It's very spacious for one person and has all amenities that you need. It's very central, in short distance to supermarkets, restaurants and a mall. Mara is very kind and welcoming. Amazing place to stay also for long-term.

I stayed with Milankies family for a month and had a really good time. The area is quiet and safe to walk around. The kitchen was well equipped and you have everything you need for cooking easy meals. The wifi works well and the hosts were very helpful when I had any questions. They is a supermarket and some restaurants close by too.
