House vacation rentals in Kahawatta

We cannot describe how amazing our stay was. This is the best place in whole Sri Lanka. We stayed here with our 1.5y old toddler and we all loved the villa. Swimming pool is suitable for a kid and rooms are very nice and clean. Location also is great. Away from the city noise but close enough to the beach. Amazing host Kanishka drove us everywhere with his tuk tuk. We booked this place for 4 nights but we loved it here so much that we cancelled our flight and stayed 10 more days. And the best part of it is the familly who owns the villa. So kind and frendly people. They will do anything for you to make your stay unforgettable. Kanishkas mother can cook you the most amazing food. His sister and mother also babysit our toddler which was amazing. We felt like a part of their family. The kindest people we have met. There are monkeys coming by every morning and evening. Perfect additioin to superb villa. If you are visiting Sri Lanka we highly recommend this place. You will be in love.

We had a lovely time at the property, would definitely visit and stay again. Very friendly staff and plenty of freedom and privacy. Couple of things to note, there is only one fridge for the 5 rooms we stayed at, and only one bath tub in the 5 rooms. Food was good, there are some nice shacks near by. location is excellent.

Our stay at Anja's place was amazing! Even before we arrived, Anja provided us with valuable tips for our Sri Lanka trip, which helped us a lot and took our initial concerns. We were able to check in earlier for a small extra charge and were warmly welcomed. Eranga, who takes care of the house, prepared us a delicious lunch according to our wishes – a perfect start after a long journey! The house is very well equipped. The two rooms on the ground floor each include a private bathroom. Living room, kitchen and terrace are also on one level. Our children loved the pool, which is an ideal size and surrounded by beautiful palm trees. We were able to use the pool completely privately. The highlight was the roof terrace with a fantastic view of the sea and breathtaking sunsets. We highly recommend Anja's place. Thank you for everything.

I allow myself to call Dananjaya already a Super Host! Staying with him and his family for more than two weeks I can only tell positive things and stress the warm, welcoming, and respectful hospitality I encountered. The communication was always easy and respectful, I received lots of valuable information and amazing support from him and his family, and still I perfectly enjoyed my privacy. Besides my room with AC and the connected bathroom I enjoyed a spacious area on the first floor with a well equipped kitchen for myself. My favourite spot, however, was the hammok between the trees. I can highly recommend the place, e.g. for solo travelling women as I always felt save and well treated but also for families due to the spacious area! I'm very thankful for the amazing time I had and happy to come back again soon.

The staff of the hotel are excellent and we enjoyed the breakfasts they cooked. The pool area is beautiful. We liked the villa itself too. It would be nice if they put a washing machine in the unit. There can be some road noise at night, but not too much to sleep. Overall, we are glad we picked this place.

Good villa for a big company. Location: 5 mins to the market, 10-15 mins walk to the beach. The beach is great. You can see a lot of fish in the water, A LOT. If you walk 5 more on the beach, you will reach the place with the turtles. All in the walking distance! Condition: the villa is not new, but the state is OK. And there is everything you need. 5 rooms: 2 on the first floor with the shared bathroom + 3 on the second floor with an individual bathroom each. One bedroom on the 2nd floor is bigger and has a balcony. All bedrooms have working aircons. Pool is shared with the hotel. However, during our stay there were almost no guests in the hotel, so we had the pool all for ourselves. The most I liked common areas: a very big hall on the first floor with multiple sofas, kitchen, and dining rooms. We spend most of our time there. There is also a table in the garden and you can ask the host for a grill to do a barbeque. The host was helpful, he answered quickly to all our questions. He also helped us to arrange transfers for a reasonable price. This villa is not new and you can see it, but I still think it's a very good option for the price.

Our stay at the villa with our kids was great. The Villa is exactly as shown on the photos and very clean. The garden and the pool were great. We could see a couple of peacocks, a monkey, and a varan around. The host's brother Chanaka was extremely attentive and responsive during our stay. He was able to arrange everything for us, starting from airport pickup and dropoff, through groceries delivery, sightseeing trips, and more at a very reasonable price. Definitely recommended.

Pepper villa is surrounded by a beautiful forest environment and river with wildlife all around. Some insects do find their way inside, we watched dazzling displays by fireflies on some evenings. Dimuthu was an amazing host and showed us around the farm pointing out the different plants and where the best swimming spots were. His parents live in the farmhouse nearby and were very kind and helped us get milk and Kurds from a local farm. There are a couple of small local shops with basic supplies and it's a short bus ride to the nearest town with more shops, cafes and ATMs. We found pepper villa a great place just to relax and well placed for longer excursions by bus, tuk tuk or train.

The house is quite good for this price. Very good location: near product and fruit shops, doctor, gym. Only 20 minutes on foot to Narigama beach or Hikkaduwa beach (5 minutes by tuk-tuk). Great garden with different trees. Gayan is a good host, very kind, could help with every problem.

Done accidentally found this bungalow and booked right away. Mongoose and monkeys are often found on the property. Co-host Udaya is very sensitive, always helpful! His wife cooks very tasty, I recommend! We lived in this place for about 2 weeks, I liked everything, the Internet is stable.

Fahiriya was a lovely host! He was always available whenever we needed advice or any supplies personally delivered from the local market. The property is very private with a small garden and lockable gate. House is spacious and kitchen was well equipped to allow us to cook at home. A small Cargills supermarket is 5 minutes walk away as well as a number of friendly food vendors selling seasonal fruit or local foods. Dewata Beach was also 5 minutes away walking. Great spot for our kids as the water was relatively shallow and waves not too big. Heaps of options for surf lessons/board hire if that's also your thing. There was also a great locally run restaurant called Madeena Beach Hotel which we frequented a number of times. Don't be put off by the appearance as it's excellent food without the tourist price. About 15min tuk tuk back into Galle Fort or the other direction to Unawatuna Beach. Overall a nice quiet spot which was perfect for our family getaway.

Perfect stay in Galle! It was well curated for travellers who are looking for a calm and peaceful stay in Galle with all the privacy. The location is top notch as it is just a few minutes walk from the Railway station and Galle fort. It was very easy to board local transport as well. All the amenities were present as mentioned with a good kitchen with all necessary utensils and equipments. Felt like home away from home! Janaka was super response and pro-active to cater our needs during stay. Bathroom is spacious with hot water. The bedroom is well airconditioned and it will help in the heat of Galle. Restaurants, Super markets and hospital nearby. Perfect for long stays as well

We were here as a family and felt incredibly comfortable. It met just about everything to our expectations. Due to the holidays, the owners were not on site themselves and thus closed their own kitchen, but we were driven with the tuktuk to a restaurant whose kitchen we liked very much. Many locals have been eating there and picked up food to go. We can definitely recommend it if you prefer authentic cuisine. Back to the place.. It's very quiet and relaxing. Outside the hustle and bustle of Ella, you are very well taken care of here; felt like in the jungle 💜

Chandana, his wife and eldest son were particularly welcoming, accommodating and generous throughout the stay. The room had a terrace with splendid views.

A traditional family home in Kerala. A peaceful location, 5 minute walk to the beach. The family are very friendly and Kanchana is a super host. It’s a friendly neighbourhood, putting Avenra resort into maps will give you an idea of location. If you request it, Kanchana will make the most delicious curry and rice at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended

The home has a fantastic location right on a human beach! The complex of the property is also beautifully designed and invites you to stay there. Truly a special and uniquely designed place to stay!

We stayed at Madampe for Christmas, it was one of the best stays for all of us. The villa is prettier and bigger that in the pictures, pool was clean all the time, very beautiful trees and flowers. The hosts were amazing, very friendly and attentive, they also cooked us amazing dishes for a very good price. It was very peaceful and homey, the beach is literally 5 minute walk from villa and we saw the most amazing sunsets. One thing I would suggest is that if you’re planning to visit Madampe house make sure to bring mosquito repellant spray. Other than that everything was beyond our expectations!

I had a wonderful stay. The location is convenient, and the garden is beautiful. Spending a week with the animals was truly memorable. The owner was kind and always thoughtful. I would love to stay here again.

Our stay was overall very nice. Gaya is a great host, responding quickly to any needs. Good fruit and vegetable stores are nearby, and the area is not touristy, making it generally quiet. However, it's just a 15-minute walk to Dewata Beach. Several buses leave in the street close to the house (E.g. Kottawa Rain forest is reachable within 45 minutes). There were occasional water and Wi-Fi cuts in the area (this was due to the general situation in Sri Lanka). Oki, the resident dog, is brilliant and kind. Her caretaker comes in the afternoon and evening to feed her. The garden is visited by beautiful, colorful birds, and you can also watch monkeys up close in the trees around the property.

It was a very pleasant stay here! Nuwan was very helpful and always on hand when anything was needed! We also used his tuktuk. I'm not even talking about the sea view from the terrace! I'm definitely coming back here! Thank you so much! :)

Aitana's place is a very spacious appartment with two comfortable double bedrooms (one with AC) and a large front veranda. The lovely hosts are living upstairs and are super helpfull. They organised tuks for us, came to check if everything was ok at check in and even organised breakfast and hot cappuccinos to be delivered to our door! The appartment is walking distance to the beach but away from the noise in the main road in a lovely residential lane. Perfect base if you wanna enjoy all what hikkaduwa has to offer (beach, surf, restaurants, party,....) but also wanna be able to retreat to a quite place to relax or work.

Thanks for everything, Tharanga and her family were so nice and helpful. We had to move and couldn’t stay the week but we really recommend staying at Tharanga’s place. The food was amazing!
