Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Jo Daviess County

Alina’s home was a clean beautiful spacious property. Lots of room for our party of 5. We loved both the enclosed and open air decks and we made great use of the fire pit at the end of our evenings. And let me tell you if you are a stargazer you are in for a treat. Just beautiful!

This airbnb is exactly like how it was pictured. Felt like home away from home. Chelsey was very friendly and responsive. This felt like our own private retreat. I would highly recommend booking any stays in this home. It was bright inside the home, and everything was squeaky clean. All the amenities were of high quality. Will definitely be visiting again!

This was our second time at Jennifer's place and it was just as perfect as it was the first time. We brought our daughters with us this time, and they slept on the pull out couch and loved it. It was the perfect space for our family. The amenities are a plus. We went to the indoor pool at the Owners Club which was nice and enjoyable and we played the board games one of the nights, which were provided. I highly recommend this place. It's quiet, peaceful, there are walking paths, and it's about 10 to 15 minutes from Main Street. We will definitely be back!

Stayed here with family. Easy to find. Quiet. Layout worked out well. 3 bathrooms! Able to block off stairs. traveled with a senior dog with a bad knee. Kitchen had anything we needed. Relaxing after a day at Chesnut Mountain. Beds comfortable, bathrooms spotless. husband enjoyed the puzzle ball game. Nicely decorated to reflect the holiday season!

We had a lovely stay at The Treehouse. Kimberly and Dan were wonderful hosts. We had one little snafu that was immediately addressed and no issues whatsoever from there. Gorgeous views, comfortable spaces, great community amenities. Enjoyed being a little off the beaten path as well. Guidebook was readily available and helpful. Kids had a blast with the games. Only wish it would’ve been a little warmer to use the deck and porch. Would definitely book again! Thank you for a great stay!

Beautiful home. Clean and wonderful amenities. Peaceful stay utilizing hot tub, firepit and porches. Doreen was very attentive throughout stay. We enjoyed the "extras " such as the Owners Club. Highly recommend!

Very nice place, a short drive into Galena and around 20 minutes to Chestnut Mountain. We stayed there with our daughter and two of her friends, and they thought it was great. It snowed before we arrived, and we appreciated that Stefania removed the snow and made it easy to get in and out.

The suite was the absolute perfect spot for a girl's weekend with my bestie! Our suite, 203, was beautifully decorated and stocked with everything you could possibly need. I could go on about how perfect the location is, directly overlooking Main St. and so conveniently located to everthing that's happening! Also, the lovely cafe next door with coffee and pastries was so perfect. Check-in was a breeze and parking was also very easy. Joan made accessing the suites easy and straightforward. I would give this place 10 stars if I could! Indulge yourself...these suites are so worth it.

This was the second time we have stayed at Ulysses over the New Year eve and will likely do it again next year. The attention to detail the owners have put into these suites is simply amazing. The décor is all very modern, but yet fits the charm of this historic building. From the top of the line appliances to the steam shower, this place feels like a home, not a rental. David Scott

We truly enjoyed everything about our stay! Being centrally located in Galena we found ourselves exploring downtown but also having plenty of time to enjoy our place. We loved the fireplace, steam shower, the fresh water station and of course how adorable the place was decorated! We look forward to our next visit!

Sandra's home is beautiful! Spacious, tastefully decorated. The home is situated on a sloping hill with trees & flowers to enjoy. One can sit out on the back deck which overlooks all of this beauty and enjoy their morning coffee or evening glass of wine in peace. Sandra is warm & friendly. If your looking for a specific thing she provides guidance. It's also very rare to find a place that includes breakfast but she does and oh what a breakfast! Sandra is an excellant cook and you won't need lunch! Beds are quite comfy and if your as lucky as I was fall asleep to an owl hooting, something you'll never hear in the city. Overall it was a great getaway and well worth the money!

Booked this place for a sister weekend, and it was a great walking distance from shops and restaurants. Check in was super easy and easy instructions to follow. Host is very quick at responding! Would love to stay here again!

We had the best weekend in Galena. So glad we stayed at the Ulysses Suites. Our suite was amazing! Great location - right in the middle of all the stores and restaurants. Check in and out was easy. All the rooms were clean and decorated perfectly. I have recommended to several people since getting home! We are already planning our next trip back and can’t wait to stay here again!

This condo is perfect for a little getaway. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. The bed was comfortable! The jet tub was relaxing and perfect for 2 people! Downfall is that the shower head is VERY small and there’s a weird clunking behind the toilet, in the plumbing.

We had a great time during our stay! Communication was smooth and easy, and the location was perfect for what we needed. Having a convenient parking spot nearby was a huge plus. Overall, everything was just right—thank you!

The Merry Mansion was perfect for our family; we had several people staying, but were able to host some additional local family members for meals - a huge kitchen provided plenty of space for meal preparation and the two dining rooms provided more than ample space for enjoying our home-cooked meals together. The decor is lovely and there was plenty of space for privacy in bedrooms or socializing in the two living rooms. It is conveniently located to both Dubuque and Galena and walkable to establishments in East Dubuque. Corey was wonderful, a proactive communicator and very responsive to questions; he was available at check-in to provide a very helpful tour of the mansion, as well. We will be back again for another Christmas celebration!

Great place, would stay again for sure. The location is nice- quiet and private and about a 12-minute drive from downtown Galena. It was clean and cozy, the beds were comfy and host communication was timely and clear. Check out to do list was very reasonable and simple. There’s a working wood fireplace and plenty of wood for guest use which is such a nice bonus and walking trails are close and accessible. We didn’t have time to check out the clubhouse facilities but instructions and access seemed easy and straightforward.

We would highly recommend this property. It was exactly as described, cozy, comfortable and lovely. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. Just a quick drive into downtown Galena. Dana was a wonderful host, had great recommendations for us, and was very responsive. We will definitely be coming back! 😎

Great place, very beutiful area, peaceful and quiet, short drive to Galena, and the Iowa state line

The place was amazing in almost every way. The only one thing that was odd as it said it sleeps 4, but there was only one bed with sheets and blankets. On the couch bed, we had to contact housekeeping to get sheets and there were not any blankets for it. We did find extra pillows in the apartment though. Otherwise the place was wonderful, very cozy, clean, and comfortable. We loved it. It was a nice and quiet place to stay. The club amenities were awesome to have too.

Dan was responsive to any of my questions before our stay. We booked a villa for a girls relaxing weekend. The place was well stocked, gorgeous, great character preserved in the building restoration to enjoy throughout the stay, clean, homey, had a private off street parking spot, views of the river, I could go on. They paid great attention to detail to remove any frustrations of staying in a new place by labeling light switches, fans, etc. in the three level villa. The only thing that went wrong, was he forgot to order warmer April weather for us so we could sit outside and enjoy the outdoor offerings of the property. Just kidding of course. I highly recommend Dan’s place for a great weekend getaway or extended stay. It’s a true, Iowa Riverview paradise.

Ginger was proactive in reaching out when reserved. Helpful in local suggestions and stuff to do. Instructions were very clear and place was clean, comfy and had everything we needed.
