We had a lovely winter adventure in the Adirondacks, with a big thanks to Bonnie! Bonnie is a warm and welcoming host, offering a delicious selection of artisanal teas—a must-try! Our room was cozy and ready to welcome us—well-appointed, comfortable, and accented with a charming splash of color. Bonnie provided excellent recommendations, even calling to make reservations for us weary travelers arriving late in the evening. Thank you, Bonnie!

Tyler was extremely helpful; he even jumped our car after the battery died! He and Shannon were easily reachable by text and made sure we knew they were free to answer any questions or help us out in any way. The view and surrounding landscape were absolutely stunning, and the baby sheep were soooo cute to watch (and hear). I would recommend the Crook to anyone looking for an escape from city life and who is comfortable living without running water or electricity. There was cell service, although barely strong enough to make a call. I do wish, however, that the description of the Crook included the fact that there was no need for a key exchange, as the cabin (as well as the rest of the houses on the property) does not lock from the outside! At first, this came as a surprise as we were traveling with instruments. However, the backdoor to the cabin locks from the inside, and the front sliding door can be locked with a slab of wood preventing it from fully opening. 9/10; highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is well appointed and the feeling created by the river sounds was peaceful and welcoming. Even the groundhogs are friendly. Caleb's energy is infectious, and the surroundings invite reflection. We look forward to returning.

We had a wonderful stay at Brian’s place in Jay, NY. The apartment was clean, cozy, and located in a beautiful, peaceful area with a big green backyard—perfect for relaxing. It’s just a short drive to Lake Placid, the covered bridge, and Whiteface Mountain, with great breakfast spots only 5 minutes away. Brian was a responsive and welcoming host, greeting us at check-in and making sure we had everything we needed. This was a perfect base for exploring the Adirondacks, and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
