Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Jackson County

We were in town for a girls get away with some hiking and Twisted Sister was perfect! Such a beautiful setting and so close to the places we wanted to go. It was super easy to get in, very clean, and had everything we needed to cook for ourselves as we prefer to do. We also enjoyed strawberries from Flamm Orchard, and great hikes at nearby Little Grand Canyon and Cove Hollow, plus of course Giant City State Park. Candace was an excellent hostess. She lives next door but gave us complete privacy. And when I had questions or wanted recommendations she was super responsive. It made us feel safe and cared for. It is so nice that she shares her beautiful property with guests in this way. We will be back!

Tim’s place is peaceful and a reasonable distance from Kinkaid Lake. We enjoyed the quiet surroundings and amenities provided.

When 6 guests ranging from 13-79 all love the place, it’s a win!! It was so peaceful and we felt right at home! We had a blast with the arcade, pool table, & the hot tub! We highly recommend! Thanks to the host for going above expectations!

The Weber house was a beautiful home away from home. My group and I spent two lovely days there. The home was very well taken care of; you could tell they had put a lot of time, effort and love into this space. It was extremely inviting, cozy and in pristine condition. Although the town was small, they still provided recommendations for food, shopping and entertainment within the small town as well as some of the surrounding areas. They were friendly and great at communicating. Never felt like we were in the dark about anything, and all expectations were communicated in advance. Highly recommend this property and host!

House is very comfortable, clean, and roomy. The outside areas are bigger in person! Lots of bird watching and fun surprise of small lizards while hanging out by the firepit. We did lots of hiking activities nearby, but if you visit during inclement weather, they have lots of games at the house to keep everyone entertained!

We had a group of 15 and this home was absolutely perfect for our stay! There’s a ton of gathering space, especially in the living room where the large couch and footrest easily accommodated everyone. The multiple dining areas upstairs also made mealtimes easy and comfortable. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked — we cooked every meal for all 15 of us without any issues. Having the extra fridge downstairs was a huge plus for storing all our food and drinks. The outdoor area is truly picturesque. We loved lounging on the deck, soaking in the peaceful surroundings, and listening to the local wildlife. All of the bedrooms were spacious, and it was a huge bonus that everyone upstairs had their own bathroom. The home had everything we needed and more — highly recommend for large groups!

We were looking for a location to spend a relaxing weekend and Kathy’s home was the perfect location. We enjoyed the peaceful setting despite not being too far off the beaten path. Kathy was very responsive to the small issues that came up during our stay and seemed genuinely concerned that our stay met our expectations. It felt a like a real country farmhouse if that is what you are looking for.

I went to SIUC many many years ago and never visited Giant City. We came down to visit the campus and Giant City and Theresa’s place allowed us to bring our pet and was a great location. It was clean and nicely decorated at a good price.

Tammy was fantastic and kind. The place was great for a weekend of turkey hunting and close enough to get to the city to shop and find other things to do as well. We would stay again.

It was the best day the couple was so wonderful to me and my family. I would say there again.

This was a really nice place to stay. Quiet. Easy to get in and out. Close to the lake and things you may need in town. The inside was neat , packed with cute little car things. It would be perfect for a smaller family. It was a little tight with our big family but we still made it work ! They have just about everything you would need . Very convenient. The host was amazing, answered quickly and very friendly. 10/10 I would recommend staying here

It was a great private location surrounded by nature, close to restaurants. A very beautiful stay and it felt like home. The hostess was very kind and understanding when our dog had an accident. We had such an amazing time.

Ashley and her lakefront rental were both amazing! She made check in and out so seamless and easy , place was juys wayt we needed As makanda girl I really enjoyed the peaceful private yet safe neighborhood feel a lot It was wonderful to sit on that bench and watch the sunset over the lake and was so serene Hope to stay there again sometime Ashley was great

Anna's listing was just as described. Nice place out of town. Anna was very friendly and responsive. She worked with me on entrance due to a funeral; which I greatly appreciated!

Enjoyed the stay for the weekend. Had 2 trucks one pulling a boat and one pulling 2 jet skis and had plenty of room to park. Bedroom has 4 twin size beds and one full sized bed along with a big sectional. Had pots and pans so we could cook. Nice place to stay overall would recommend to a friend

Tracy was easy to reach and very responsive and helpful w any questions. She was very hospitable but not intrusive. Her place/neighborhood felt safe. As a female traveling alone that was very notable to me.

I booked this last minute and arrived late, the hosts answered me at 8pm at night-my GPS had taken me somewhere totally different. They stayed on the phone, guided me to the property by me telling them landmarks which was really nice of them!! When I arrived, they checked back to make sure I’d gotten in and everything was alright. The cabin is beautiful! SO CLEAN!! It’s better than the pictures. The deck view is amazing, the hot tub was clean and perfect, the cabin has everything you’d need while you’re there. I would definitely book this again, and appreciate the thought and detail put into the property. Excellent job to the owners and staff!

Beautiful place! Second time I’ve stayed and they are always super friendly! They make sure you aren’t having any issues especially if there is any change in the weather.

The pictures are great, but it’s even better in person! Everything was perfectly clean, well kept, and many small details that make you feel appreciated as a guest. It truly doesn’t get better for a couples getaway. We hope to come back sometime! I cannot say enough good things about this place and the hosts! 10/10

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful property. The home is full of charm, thoughtfully renovated, and incredibly comfortable. We especially appreciated the peaceful, nature-filled setting—secluded enough to feel like a retreat, yet conveniently located. The large atrium windows and striking fireplace create a warm, cozy atmosphere, and the updated kitchen and bathrooms are stunning. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

Great place! Jocelynne was very accommodating when it came to my family wanted to visit. Enjoyed the fire pit sitting around catching up with my family. I would definitely stay here again.

Really enjoyed Gram's cabin. So peaceful and loved the front porch. Close to wineries and state parks. We visit this area multiple times a year. Went to Bald Knob Cross of Peace and got some great night photos. We felt right at home and will come back.

My friend and I met at Jill's cabin for a little catch-up/getaway and enjoyed being surrounded by a variety of farm animals, having lovely trails to explore, all outside the screened porch. The hot tub was well-heated and clean. Overall, a wonderful, relaxing stay and I hope to return!

A wonderful little place to enjoy nature on the covered porch (especially while raining) with a lovely little creek just below. Nice layout for staying and entertaining guests. Owner was very responsive and accommodating.
