My returning guests love how close we are to the city, yet you'll feel you’ve escaped it. You can get to the airport quickly, and directly access native bush walks. Our unique village hosts Wellington's best bakery and Chocolatier! Grab a bite and a beverage here or jump on a bus heading into the city.

Private studio in Island Bay

Self contained small private studio for singles or couples. Views overlooking Island Bay valley. Five minute walk downhill to the shops, cafes and a cinema nearby. A regular bus service to city and a 10 minute drive to the airport. Comfortable double bed, sink bench, microwave, bench oven, fridge, Nespresso machine, smart TV with Netflix and free WiFi. Outside areas to sit and relax. On street parking. This space is ideal for guests who prefer well-planned compact living. Hosts live upstairs.

The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse is a unique, romantic place on the South Coast. Stunning views, opposite a swimming and dog beach plus rock pools, it’s great for walks. With a comfy double bed and steep stairs, it’s private and quiet - brilliant on a sunny day, cosy in a storm. There's a fantastic cafe around the corner; shops are 10 minutes’ walk away. The main Island Bay bus stop is nearby with regular buses. It's a 9 minute drive to the airport and 15 minutes to downtown Wellington. Small dogs on request.

Compact apartment within our home and with separate entrance. Enjoy your stay in the lovely suburb of Island Bay, just 5 minutes walk to Island Bay Beach and the lovely south coast of the North Island. Walking distance to shops, cinema, cafes, parks, nature walks,bus. Come and enjoy sunset walks on the beach, our local brewery, a cosy cinema with great café and you will be spoilt for choice with lots of places to eat ethnic foods (dine in or take away). Suited for a couple or two singles.

Lyall Bay Studio

This is a studio unit under our house with own access from street. There is no outdoor space. Comfortable queen bed, electric blankets. The couch is not a bed. Washing machine/dryer, and washing powder supplies. Kitchen has hot plates, microwave and small bench top oven. Fridge and freezer. Sky TV. Open robe for storage. Ensuite has toilet, basin, shower, no bath. Unit is stylish and well designed, and in great condition. There is space for a SMALL car to park directly outside.

Cosy and convenient, this street-level studio on Wellington’s south coast is perfect for solo travellers or couples. Just steps from rugged beaches and scenic walks, it’s a 7-minute drive to the airport and 10 minutes to the CBD. Off-street parking and easy ground floor access. Suitable for kids and elderly. Perfect to explore the rugged South Coast and watch the seals. Close to shops and town with good, frequent bus connections. 15min drive to airport, ideal for early-bird flights. 30min drive to ferries.

This is a very special place. A private studio with your own deck and outdoor bathtub in a stunning seaside setting. The hillside location means panoramic views from beautiful Ōwhiro Bay over Raukawa Moana (Cook Strait) to the majestic Kaikōura mountains of the South Island. You'll be in the heart of a wildlife reserve, yet only 12 mins to the city centre and airport, and 5 mins to the shops, cafes, bars & cinemas. It is nature at its wildest on the edge of the city.

Warm Studio Apartment

Warm studio apartment in Eastern Wellington. Close to Wellington airport, Lyall Bay beach, Kilbirnie and Akau Tangi/ASB sports centre. The apartment is a self contained unit on the frist floor of a two story building. There is a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living area. We live in the top floor with our three year old daughter. The front of the building has shared steps to access the property. There is a large deck outside the apartment with a washing line.

Lyall Bay Vista - great location, stunning views

Enjoy your stay in Wellington at this cozy, comfortable unit complete with everything you need in a home-away-from-home. Perched on Melrose hill, this self-contained unit is in a great location in between Wellington Airport and the city, and provides fantastic views overlooking Lyall Bay, and the Airport. Please note we (owners of the property) live on the top floor, above this unit. The unit is up 35 steps from the street, with no accessible access.

South Coast Charm - Amazing views

Cozy south coast Wellington retreat in Island Bay. Close to the Beach House Cafe, Wellington Dive shop and Red Rocks. Spectacular sunsets and views over the Cook Straight to the South Island. A perfect location for the adventurous or those looking for a peaceful break. This is where Wellingtonians come to take photos of the ocean and brunch at the Beach House Cafe, or go for a walk or hike round the Red Rocks tracks.
