Lake Getaway for Friends & Family in Oscoda

AndreaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful lakeside cottage! My husband and I stayed here with three of our adult children, their spouses, and our grandchildren, and everything exceeded our expectations. The house was incredibly well-equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable and relaxing family getaway. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The cottage was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully stocked—from the kitchen essentials to cozy bedding and everything in between. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy, yet the common areas were perfect for gathering, sharing meals, and making memories together. The location on the lake offered a peaceful view and opportunities for fun. tThe grandkids fished all day, we cooked out for dinner and we ended the evening with a wonderful fire at the fire pit provided, every moment felt special. We’re so grateful for such a seamless and enjoyable experience and will definitely be returning!
A wooden deck is presented with tall bar stools overlooking a lush green lawn. A gas grill is positioned nearby, with a view of Lake Huron and a sandy beach visible in the background, surrounded by trees displaying seasonal foliage.

A great stay for our family of 9. The place could have been a little cleaner, as there were lots of cobwebs and dust. But the view and beach were excellent! Owner is slow to respond to messages but was quick to respond back to a phone call when we had an issue.

The house was great but we really loved the gazebo and outdoor dining area on the deck. We spent most of our time at the house outside enjoying that space. We had a great time fishing and exploring the lake using the kayaks and the rowboat. This was the perfect place for our family vacation!

The Dragonfly Haus on Van Etten Lake!

AmandaRating, 5 stars6 months ago
We had an absolutely incredible time! The cottage was exactly as it was described. Heidi sent us detailed information on how to get there in case the map wasn’t accurate, it was easy to get into, and it was incredibly clean and well appointed. We didn’t feel at all like we were staying in a rental; we felt like we were staying at a friend‘s house. We had a small issue with getting the Roku to work and Heidi spent some time on the phone with my husband getting that sorted out into the evening. There was a great binder full of local ideas and restaurants. We had fun hiking and exploring the local towns and just hanging out. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to friends. Thank you so much for the incredible getaway!

Everything was truly wonderful the only thing to take into consideration is that there’s no main shower on the main floor. There is a bathroom in the bedroom downstairs. But it was difficult for my grandma to make it up and down the stairs to shower.

Deck & Scenic Views: Lakefront Cottage in Hale!

LexRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We rented this lakeside cottage in Hale for Memorial Day weekend and were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t your average getaway. The cottage perfectly blends modern updates with nostalgic, cozy decor that made us feel both pampered and right at home. The attention to detail was incredible—from the high-end furnishings and well-stocked kitchen to the comfortable beds and welcoming touches throughout. The views were absolutely breathtaking, with peaceful lakefront scenery that made mornings with coffee and evenings by the water truly unforgettable. Every part of this property felt intentional and well-cared for, and it created a relaxing, memorable experience. Huge thanks to the hosts Paul & Lori for their outstanding hospitality and eye for detail. This place exceeded our expectations in every way, and we’re already looking forward to booking our next stay. It’s safe to say this cottage has earned a permanent spot on our go-to getaway list!

Our stay was fantastic. Beautiful cottage on a gorgeous lake would stay here again and again in a heartbeat. Extremely kid friendly to five kids all under 7. The lay out is open and feels much bigger than you think. The lake and beach were amazing with so much to do and keep everyone busy. Plenty of things to do in Tawas on a windy chilly morning at the lake. Everything was SO clean! I would highly recommend to anyone, you will not be disappointed! The host was friendly and super responsive!

The cottage was cute, everything we expected. Very accommodating for my bridesmaids as I was married on the 7th. Only 2 miles from my location so everything was comfortable and easy and as you know, the least amount of issues the better. Very grateful to the host for the cozy accommodations free from issues. Will use again if we need to, we usually have large gatherings in the summer.

Cozy Cabin #1 @ Little Island Lake Resort

We enjoyed our time here and thought it was very clean and well organized! Having kayaks, fishing, paddle boat, fishing boat etc all available to us and all kinds of water and beach toys was great. Things are super organized in their well-lit shed and having all these things accessible to us was a huge perk of staying here. The cabin was cute and very clean and welcoming.

The Cabin

CathieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This place was perfect for our family gathering. We only wish we had more time to enjoy the lake, the fire pit the boat. The house is well appointed and pics don’t do it justice. The open loft had 2 queens, a twin, a twin bunk bed with a mattress (trundle) under it we used for the littlest family member and a futon. Each area had thoughtfully placed light switches (could turn off or on from beds) and outlets for chargers etc. there were beautiful details like the pine ceiling and triangle keylight windows that provided a view of the lake to the loft. Plenty of chairs outside. Big outdoor table too. Just great. Could have stayed longer if our schedule had permitted. And affordable for us. So great.

Historic 3 Bedroom Log Cabin on Van Etten Lake !

SandraRating, 5 stars10 months ago
The cabin was a great find for us. We really enjoyed how rustic a location it was. The included kayaks and canoe, along with the private access beach on Lake Huron were a great addition to our stay. Check in could not have been easier. We never met our host in person, but they were proactive in messaging us to see if all our needs were met. Overall we would recommend booking Carol's cabin, it made for a memorable vacation.
A stunning sunset over Loon Lake is captured, reflecting vibrant colors across the water's surface. Silhouettes of birch trees frame the scene, while the calm shoreline includes a shed and a rowboat. The tranquil atmosphere is enhanced by the surrounding natural beauty.

Living Life at Loon Lake

AmyRating, 5 stars10 months ago
We had a wonderful time at Loon Lake. The cabin, lake and the surrounding areas were perfect. We had fun swimming, fishing, kayaking, taking walks down the dirt road and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Melissa was a great host and replied quickly to any questions that we had. I look forward to stay at Loon Lake again. I would recommend this place to my family and friends. One thing that I recommend is to bring your water shoes because there are some zebra muscles around the dock, but otherwise it is nice and sandy.
