Arisaig House, Aviemore

CathrynRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a fantastic stay - the house generously caters for adults and children, with plenty of space for everyone across the various reception rooms. We were very lucky with the weather so fully enjoyed the back garden seating and hot tub. The house is located in a great position, lovely views, plenty of parking, close to town (walkable) and access to local woodland walks. Great little park for the kids just 1 minute walk from the house too, a really well equipped, comfortable home from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Aviemore and made seamless by basing ourselves at Sarah’s house. Thank you would definitely stay again!

Another wonderful stay at St Trinneans. Plenty of room for 3 generations of our family - 7 in all. We've stayed her a few times now and Karen is always easy to contact and very friendly to deal with. The property is clean, comfortable and cosy with wonderful views. Thoroughly recommend and I'm sure we will be back before too long. Thanks again Karen.

luxury Highland home with large private gardens

HannahRating, 5 stars3 days ago
I booked Cardon house for my friends Hen do! It was in such a lovely location, surrounded by woodland. There was lots of space outdoors and seating areas to sit outside. Indoors was lovely, ample space for larger parties to stay. The bedrooms were spacious and beds were comfy. The lounge area was lovely, it was very spacious and had lots of seating. It was great for hosting the hen party games and being able to sit together. There was a lovely wood burner which unfortunately we did not get a chance to use but would be great for in the winter. The kitchen and dining area was open plan and spacious and there was a large table for all of us to sit. It’s about a 15/20 min drive by taxi, which we used to travel into Inverness. Taxi was able to find Cardon house promptly and easily. Caroline was responsive when I asked her questions regarding the stay and we got to meet her when we checked out. She was welcoming and asked about our stay. We did not want to leave. Very happy bride to be!

Historic cottage in countryside location

AnnaRating, 5 stars1 day ago
First time visiting but not the last. The cottage itself and surrounding area/garden was amazing. Beautifully clean and garden is enormous. Comfortable beds, living room, kitchen with everything you would need. If you would rather eat out it’s only an 8 minute drive from Nairn which has lots of nice cafes and restaurants. Harbour and beach accessible with lovely walk along sea front. Some nice beach cafes such as Basil Harbour cafe, Strathnairn beach cafe and Sun Dancer. Lots to do in surrounding areas however it was a short break so it was a relaxing/chilled weekend. Would recommend Logie Steading, gorgeous garden plants/shop/cafe and art gallery. Also checked out Golf View hotel and spa for some drinks which has amazing views (didn’t get a chance to sample the spa). Hilary provided a friendly helpful check in with a nice chat with Graeme checking out. Didn’t want to leave so booked our next visit before checking out. Can’t wait till we are back again

The best Airbnb I have ever stayed in with the best host. Nothing was too much trouble and Bethany responded to every request. The location and quality of the house with beautiful views across the Solway Forth doesn’t come over in the listing. I have no hesitation in recommending Bethany’s Airbnb.

Great Glen Accommodation Balmaglaster/Invergarry

HetviRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had the most amazing stay at Elaine’s lovely caravan! The location was stunning, right by the river, and incredibly peaceful—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The caravan itself was super cute, spotlessly clean, and equipped with absolutely everything we needed. It’s clear that Elaine has decorated it with a lot of thought and care; it felt cozy and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Elaine was a fantastic host—so helpful and responsive. Even though she was out and busy, she replied immediately when we had a puncture and kindly gave us the contact for a local garage. She also sent detailed directions in advance which made finding the place really easy. Inside, she had prepared a very well-maintained file with all the information we needed for our stay, including local recommendations and important safety info. We had zero issues during our stay, and all of us absolutely loved the place. We’re already looking forward to coming back and would 100% recommend it to anyone!

Pretty beach side cottage, sea views galore!

EmmaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a lovely stay at Kishmuls cottage. The house was very spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed morning coffees, family meals, and playing cards at the table looking out to sea! The beds were very comfortable and rooms a great size. We love Hopeman, it's such a beautiful little village and the perfect base to explore the Moray coast. Thanks to Louise and family for the opportunity to enjoy their home and the great communication throughout our stay!

All About Inverness

Sitting on the banks of the River Ness where it meets the Moray Firth, Inverness, capital of the Scottish Highlands, is a charming city surrounded by rolling green hills and stunning landscapes. This small town offers impressive 18th- and 19th-century stone architecture, a Victorian covered market, and plenty of cultural and historical sites to explore. The High Street is a pedestrian-only lane lined with trendy shops and lively Scottish pubs.

The town is a great place to use as a base to explore Loch Ness, or you can head out into the Highlands to discover the region’s soaring mountains, emerald-green hills, and crystal-clear lakes. Inverness is also less than an hour away from a number of interesting natural and historical sights, including Cairngorms National Park, which is home to rugged mountains and their many walking and biking trails, and the Highland Folk Museum, where you can learn more about the living history of the Highlands. The 19th-century Balmoral Castle, one of the residences of the British royal family, is less than two hours away.

April through October are great times to secure your vacation rental in Inverness as the days are very long and relatively warm and sunny, perfect for exploring the Scottish Highlands. In July, the Inverness Highland Games draw visitors from around the world to witness events such as the tossing of the caber or the stonemason’s stone challenge, along with traditional Highland music and dancing.

During the fall and winter, it can get very cold and windy, so this is the perfect time to explore the great restaurants and pubs in the city center. By spring, things begin to liven up again and the streets become busier as the weather gets warmer. No matter the season, the weather in Scotland can be unpredictable, so it’s always a good idea to pack plenty of layers and have an umbrella or waterproof jacket with you at all times.
