Wilderness Cottage on Lake Inari

A wilderness cottage on the shore of Lake Inari. No electricity or running water. Sauna water is available from the lake. Two beds downstairs, also two beds on the top. The cottage has basic dishes. Cooking with a gas stove. Gas refrigerator. The cottage heats up with a fireplace, the trees have to be chopped in the wood shed. The sauna is connected to the cottage. You'll find bedding, linens, and towels. You can get close to the cottage by car, but you have to walk 100 meters along the path all the way to the yard. A ride can be arranged upon arrangement.

This house is an ideal accomodation for a holiday in the Varanger. The house and kitchen are very well equiped. Each person has a separate bedroom: beds are made and towels provided. The house is centrally located in the center of the Varanger from which you can travel to all the different places of interest. Our host Enid was very helpful and responded quickly to any question asked. There is a supermarket located at 1,5 km from the house which is very convenient because there are few shops in the region. We were a company of 5 bird watchers.: we spotted 116 different birds species during a week stay, and also a whale, moose, fox and arctic fox. It was a great and unforgettable expercience, we will probably revisit the region within some years.

Geir’s place is in a wonderful location. Peaceful and set in nature beside a lake. Communication went well and nothing was a problem. We stayed in winter. It was warm and comfortable. This is a perfect place to view the Northern Lights which we saw and just relax.

We spent a week with our two small children and had a wonderful time. The appartment was fantastic: clean, cozy, spacious, with a very big and well equipped kitchen, a good sauna, shoe dryer, books, toys and games for the children. Short distance to supermarket and city centre. Anna-Kaisa lent us two sledges and gave us a good advice where to go sledding (Jänkävaara). Furthermore she gave us a very good and detailed instruction in advance and responded very quickly to upcoming questions during our stay. We can highly recommend this place and would love to come again.

We had a good time at the place. The house is big, comfortable and warm. The double bed is very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped maybe some of the equipment need refreshment. If you need firewood more then provided bring your own or be ready to work hard with an axe. We were a couple but the house is more family/ group friendly. All in all a good experience.
