Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Hvalfjörður

Beautiful home! Spacious and clean, perfect for my group of 5. The plentiful decor was tasteful and living room is cozy with large couch. Location was quiet and private, conveniently near a Bonus, and close to major highways. The space is well stocked: Whether you need laundry related products, extra pasta sauce, quality coffee machine, etc you can find it. Would highly recommend for a cozy stay, truly like a home away from home.

Asta was so helpful with local recommendations, and her house was clean welcoming. We had everything we needed right at our fingertips. The sauna and hot tub were great for relaxing. The location was perfectly central for exploring the Reykjavik peninsula.

The house was spacious, clean , tidy and we felt at home. All amenities and description were the same as in the advertisement in air B&B. Nice neighbourhood and easy to walk to the supermarket although we had a car. Definitely recommend to others Kjartan was a great host before and during our stay . Iceland is a lovely country.

We had a great time staying here. Its fully equipped place with all the comforts one need. Deanne is always quick to respond to any query/request. Highly recommend.

The barn house was beautifully built and decorated with spectacular views. The skylight windows were perfect for watching for the northern lights. The kitchen had all the basics and some extras like a nespresso machine and pods. We enjoyed cooking there and using the hot tub. The washer and dryer were super helpful. It was a great launching place for the Golden Circle. Stokkseyri is a cute little town with a great local pool. The turf house across the street was fun to explore as was the beach on the other side of the turf wall. It is very near Bakkahestar for highly recommended Icelandic horse rides with a local couple on the beach in Eyrarbakki. Nearby Selfoss has anything you need including an amazing fish market Fiskbud Suderlands for great prices on fresh caught local fish. Kristinn was very responsive and we loved our stay!

Excellent location and plenty of bedrooms :-) Walkable to all the major downtown areas. However, you should be aware that the stairs between the upper floor and the lower floor are very steep, and there is no handrail for the lower section. If you have mobility concerns on stairs, exercise caution, since the only bathroom is downstairs, and the kitchen and living areas are upstairs. We managed to make it work, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great house, very clean and easy to find. Host was extremely quick in replying and helpful. Would recommend as a base if exploring Rekyavik and south Iceland!

Absolutely lovely place to stay. It's clean, spaceous and lovely located in a quiet location. Our kids loved to roam around the farm with the lovely dogs that were excellent hosts :). We really liked that everything as there: Coffee, coffeefilters, tea, dishwasher tabs, washingmachine with tabs etc., absolutely comfortabele (especially with kids. We were sorry we only made a reservation for one day, we would have loved to stay longer. So perhaps a next time! Thanks for a great stay and see you again

Great stay in Reykjavik. We enjoyed the location as it was convenient to get in the city center and venture outside of the city as well. The host communication was clear, and the space was pretty spacious.

This flat is very comfortable (the Icelandic know how to insulate and keep warm - which we gratefully noted as we live in a draughty Victorian house!) and very well fitted and maintained. Pretty much perfect. Lloyd and Raggi were welcoming and helpful and had left a few treats in the fridge which was nice :) They left us to ourselves but were quickly responsive when we had a query. They live in the flat below and met us on arrival there which was helpful. The area is residential and quiet but very close to the central exciting bits of Reykjavik - just five mins walk. Five mins in the other direction you can get to the path around the coast and a black sand beach. So, perfect for us really as we were there for Airwaves. They told us of a local pool which we went to everyday - it was great. There's a local bakery and cafe near the pool, but there's all the stuff in town in the other direction too. Easy access to airport - use Flybus stop 1 at City Hall Much recommended.

Nice, spacious and comfy apartment, good location. We liked the quirkyness and the style as there are many unusual paintings and lots of plants inside. The kitchen is very well equipped and is perfect for cooking. Eilífur was kind to wait for us to show us around the place even though our flight got delayed. City centre is 10-15 min walk, there are three big supermarkets 10 mins walk from the house. We would love to come back one day.

Un appartement bien équipé avec tout le nécessaire pour cuisiner. Très bien placé avec un stationnement gratuit devant. Une machine à laver et un sèche linge très appréciable. On peut aller en 20 minutes à pied en centre. La communication avec le propriétaire est excellente. Je recommande

공항으로 가기 전날 묵었어요. 집이 정말 크고 깔끔하고 좋아서 아침 일찍 나와야 했던 게 아쉬웠어요. 화장실 2개에 방 3개, 더블침대 2개, 싱글침대 2개 있었어요. 거실에 있는 쇼파가 정말 크고 편안해서 큰 tv를 다같이 보기 좋았어요. 주방도구도 다 갖추어져있었는데, 다만 포크는 4개만 있었어요. 그 외에 웰컴과자랑 커피도 있어서 좋았어요. 레이캬비크 시내에서는 50분정도 걸린 것 같아요. 걸어서 갈 수 있는 상점은 없지만 차로 10분 내외인 것 같더라고요.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here during our trip to Iceland! The place was spotless and exactly as described. Hodur was incredibly communicative and provided great recommendations that really enhanced our stay. The neighborhood felt very safe, quiet, and peaceful—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The bed was super comfortable, and we loved that it was within walking distance to some amazing restaurants. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Iceland!

Schöne tolle großzügige Unterkunft mit vernünftiger Küche und zwei schalfzimmer sowie großzügiges Bad. Alles top gepflegt. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Gute lichtverhältnisse und separaten Eingang. einziges Manko war das das hauss hellhörig ist. Wir haben die Familie darüber bis Mitternacht hören können, nicht schlafen können. Der Vermieter ist sehr bemüht, uns war es zu warm in den schlafzimmer. Der Vermieter kam vorbei, um die Heizung entsprechend zu regulieren. Ansonsten wirklich zu empfehlen!!

Super communicative! Gave us an early check in as our flight had arrived earlier than intended- was always fast with response! He even gave recommendations when asked and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay! Super nice and highly recommend- I’d stay again if I came back :)

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist einfach ein Traum, schick und modern eingerichtet, alles was man braucht ist da. Es war sauber und wir haben uns gleich wohl gefühlt. Die Aussicht ist natürlich ein Highlight, welches wir jeden Morgen beim Frühstücken genossen haben. Wir würden wieder kommen :)

Hronn and her husband were fantastic. After a red eye flight, we were hoping to check in early. After reaching out, Hronn said we could check in at 10:15am! This was AMAZING! We actually happened to meet Hronn and her husband at the door and they were lovely people. Her husband even pointed out some things with the door to the parking garage. 10/10 would stay here again.

Styrmir’s house was beautiful and was everything we needed on our trip. It was conveniently located by several grocery stores, not to mention being very close to the city center. It also had very easy access to the major highways out of Reykjavik, making day trips extremely easy. Styrmir was one of the most helpful and communicative hosts. He was a font of incredibly helpful information and continuously checked in to see how we were doing. The cats in the house were one of the best parts. They were super cute, extremely friendly, and made the stay that much more enjoyable. We would absolutely recommend this to anyone and would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay immensely! We loved the location — it was quiet, but still really close to everything — and the view of the water was beautiful !! The space itself was lovely - clean, open and airy, and had all the basic things we needed. Also— for the parents traveling with young kids— we used the crib, high chair, and was perfect for small kids. Would stay here again!

My family and I stayed here for Christmas and New Years! The location was perfect for going in and out of town to look for the northern lights and still close to the city center for shopping! Hradnildur also gave us a list of recommendations which helped us find the hidden gems!

Hurnd and Davio’s place had a modern Scandinavian flair and it came with a well equipped open kitchen which connects to a dining room where 6-8 people can dine comfortably. The living room is so cozy as well and there were unblocked view for sunrise and sunset everyday, we really enjoyed our time experiencing Icelandic nature and there are also some outdoor seatings to get some fresh air. There were the two of us staying this time and the main purpose was for work. As we had some free time we did make use of the #14 bus which is just 2 mins walk from the apartment and runs to the city center and big church. The grocery is also just 15 mins walk away. Hrund even left us a personal message and she ensured our stay was hassle free with explanation of how the trash is sorted. The toilet was really nicely designed too and you can always count on the geothermal water coming out from the tap for a nice hot shower. We would definitely stay with Hrund and Davio again in the future!

Awesome on both of our visits! Highly recommend, Harpa is a wonderful host and her home is awesome!
