Adorable house! Looked exactly like the picture ! It was perfect for us for the weekend! It was super cute inside . The beds were very comfortable!

The house was beautiful! Definitely need 4x4 to get back there though! Even with AWD we slid down the last hill before the house because of the snow/ice mixture. We did finally make it and had a wonderful weekend with friends! Beautiful view of the sunrise over the lake and to look out all day at the snow! Would love to make time to come back in the summer months!

Spacious, peaceful setting for a family gathering. Clean and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen. Close to Old Man’s Cave and the wonderful beauty of the State Park. We would enjoy returning to this property again.

Brookside cottage was a magical experience in terms of its location. The creek the water running the woods. It’s just spectacular. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was clean. You had everything that you needed. Location was quite peaceful. It was everything that we wanted. I spent a mom’s weekend there with my daughter from Ohio University, and we also enjoyed the hot tub despite the rain.

We had a great time at the house. It was very modern and well equipped. We enjoyed the house, hot tub, and fire pit. We would definately be willing to come back again.

Although our stay was short, it was everything we needed it to be. The location is very private and the house had a ton of charm and was very clean. Due to the time of year, the surrounding forest hadn’t leafed out yet and it was a bit too cold to enjoy the outdoor spaces but when it’s warmer during the summer, for anyone looking for a private place with wonderful outdoor dining, a huge firepit that can fit 8 people easily and a hot tub to use on cooler nights, it’s great! The beds were super clean, and you could tell the owners had updated the inside just enough to make it feel new even with the older “barn style” charm. Looking forward to going back again during the summer!

This place is an absolute gem and a must stay type of place!! The house was absolutely perfect for our family with 3 young kids and would also be great for older kids or just an adult getaway. There are so many activities to keep the kids entertained. The location was also great, as it was about a 15 minute drive to the 3 hikes we did (conkles hollow gorge trail, ash cave and cedar falls). Traveling wity 3 young kids can be a lot with how much you need to pack but with everything that his house provides, we only had to bring food and clothes! The host was also great about comminication before we arrived and messaged us while we were there to make sure everything was going well. I could go on forever about how amazing our stay is. Do yourself a favor and book now :)

Great location, I stayed with a group of 8 people. Lots of games for us to play, hot tub and plenty of space for us to feel comfy!

Lovely place to stay; will be coming again. Clean, amenities were lovely, furniture design was aesthetically pleasing. Had a lovely time and Lancaster OH is a lovely town to tour!

Wonderful host. Always quick to respond. Place was absolutely amazing! One night stay but will definitely be back for another stay. Peaceful atmosphere- got to see a family of deer wandering from afar! Thanks for the great communication.

My second stay at a second location….Great once again

My husband and I stayed at Idyll Reserve 5 (The North) for two nights in January and had a fabulous stay! 🌲❄️ The cabin was thoughtfully designed, tastefully decorated, and very spacious for the two of us (& could accommodate a small family easily). It had all the amenities you’d need for a cozy stay — spacious, fully-stocked kitchen (with coffee & espresso maker! ☕️), comfy couch, living room with large windows & beautiful views of the surrounding woods, walk-in double shower & soaking tub, and our personal favorites — the outdoor hot tub and sauna! Laura was extremely responsive and communication regarding check-in was the best I’ve had with an Airbnb host. We could have easily stayed several more days. Hocking Hills State Park is just a ~10 minute drive away (we did some gorgeous hiking to Ash Cave, Old Man’s Cave, and Cedar Falls all within a half day). We’re already planning our next trip back with our kids! 🥰

This was a very clean, cozy, and quiet place to stay when we visited Hocking Hills! The inside was newly done with cute decorations. The outdoor area is a nice place to hang out, and we caught and released many fish in the pond. A great choice and value for our getaway!

Very experienced corporate traveler who is tired of typical hotel accommodations. I came across this home, reasonably priced, and beautiful accommodation. I highly recommend it to anyone needing accommodations in the area.

Fantastic getaway tucked away atop a countryside hill. Surrounded by trees and excellent parks nearby. Pool is excellent, fireplaces stocked full of wood, and wall to wall great ambience for a private family retreat.

Our stay at Shu’s place exceeded my expectations. We have a family of 7 with a Goldendoodle. Sometimes it is hard to please the entire group when booking. The house was spotless inside with great appliances. We were able to move flawlessly from inside modern features (pool table, movie room, air hockey, multiple TV’s, gaming systems, board games) directly outside to a feeling of solitude. Beautiful lake views sitting in the hot tub, kids making smores at the camp fire, and some family members fishing from the dock at the same time. We went to visit my daughter at Ohio University and to see Hocking Hills. It was the perfect location between the two. Easy 5 min trips to Walmart for anything forgotten. Bait shop 2 min away from the property. A cool coffee shop out of an airstream 2 min away. It was special to feel so alone in nature but be so close to anything that we needed. To top it all off, schedules changed and Shu was able to provide us with a late checkout. GREAT LAUNDRY as well!

We came for a relaxing week and that’s exactly what we got! Very private and just so fun to be at especially with kids. We were beyond grateful to bring pets as well.

Great location - the view of the lake was spectacular. We enjoyed the fire pit, the hot tub and the accommodations. Perfect girls' getaway!

We had the pleasure of staying in this incredible Villa last weekend. The Villa was one of the cleanest and nicest we have ever stayed in. The hot tub was very clean and the private fire pit area was perfect for the cool nights. It is also very convenient to all of the hikes that Hocking Hills State Park has to offer. We would highly recommend staying here or any of the other villas the Hugga in the Hills has to offer!
