Breakfast with Dinky Donkeys.

LucyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Went here with my 9-year old son and we had the best time. Carl and Jane were just lovely and couldn’t have done more for us and it was really special for us to be so close to the beautiful Ava & Molly. Can’t recommend this enough for anyone with an interest in donkeys or who is just looking for something a bit special to do.

The Bramley Nook

Anna was so helpful and friendly when we arrived. The cottage is lovely and having bread, butter, preserves and grinola for breakfast was an added and welcome bonus. The surroundings are lovely. A short walk takes you to the pub where the evening meals were great, reasonably priced and not ‘ping ping’ (microwaved). Thank you, Anna for allowing us to stay one night. We’ll be back in the Autumn.

Broadgate Farm, The Old Dairy - 5 ensuite bedrooms

EmmaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a lovely time with all the family, especially as we booked last minute for my daughters 16th. The accommodation was lovely all the rooms were the same with the added bonus of all having en-suites, so no arguing over who gets the best room. The beds were very comfortable, which meant we all slept very well 😊. The kitchen area had everything we needed as it was fully stocked with everything we needed a more. The hot tub was a lovely added bonus which was very clean and well looked after. Terry was lovely and on hand to help, we loved hearing about the different animals and see the babies on our tour of the farm. The kids especially loved feeding ten baby lambs, would definitely recommend to friends and family and will definitely book again if we have another big birthday in the family. 😊

18th century lock keepers cottage

PaulRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
What a great find Lock Keeper’s Cottage was for a lovely weekend away. If you’re looking for a quiet get-away in a traditional cottage right on the canal then this is for you. Your only neighbours are moored up barges/narrowboats - some permanent and others just passing through. Chat with the local owners or those navigating the canal lock on your doorstep and you’ll find how friendly they all are. At the back of the property there’s a large decking and the sizeable garden looks across open fields and is surrounded by a run off stream from the canal - you’ll have a to an eye of children if you’re taking them but this stream is only a few inches deep for the most part. Walking is easy - there’s woodland opposite (part of the Babworth Estate) with paths and, of course, the canal path itself. The cottage itself is really cosy with the 2 lounges and a well equipped kitchen. The stairs to the bedrooms are steep and may be a challenge for the less agile though.
A view through glass patio doors showcases a cozy balcony area with two chairs and a small table. Bright natural light fills the space, while a serene outdoor scene is visible, featuring greenery and parking spaces in the distance.
