Gion Shirakawa is a 3-minute walk away, and the path along the river is a popular, atmospheric spot where many people gather, with beautiful cherry blossoms in spring and willows in summer. However, what I like best is the quiet time in the middle of the night when there are no people around. The surface of the river shines and is magical, like another world.
