Fantastic apartment that has recently been refurbished and the pool table is a nice touch. The photos don't really do it justice as it is much bigger and airier than it looks on the advertisement. Comfy beds and the place was spotlessly clean. Tina responded quickly to any queries we had. With regards to parking, you may not always get parked directly outside, but there was always somewhere to park nearby - and for free. The beach is a few minutes walk down steps and nearly each room in the apartment has a sea view! There are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes within a few minutes walk - the Thai fusion restaurant - Coco & Rum was particularly good. We'll definitely be booking Sandy View apartment again in the near future. Highly recommended!

Lovely flat within a grand country manor. Great for a countryside escape with a large bath and a cosy fireplace. Feels private but still right next door to your hosts. A few details were missing when we arrived including kettle and tools for the fireplace but the host was quick to help. It wasn't a problem but it's worth noting that there is no door between the bathroom and the bedroom. Overall a very peaceful place to stay with lots of nice countryside pubs around.

Lovely home, very cozy and warm, airy and bright. We had all we needed for our family stay. Very friendly and helpful host who was so lovely to decorate the place for us during Christmas. Thank you!

Lovely building. Plenty of space. Well decorated, uptodate-loved the master and kitchen. Very comfortable supportive beds. Downsides-no window covering in attic bedroom and some steep stairs with no handrail made it awkward for the children and upstairs WC very cosy but functional. Fab walks along the seafront/promenade. Beach 10 mins walk away-very big. Watch your step as dog poop galore-nothing to do with house owners but a shame. Walk the other way and great architecture and views across the working harbour. Host very communicative on a couple of slight issues. Recommended and hope to be back.

I had a wonderful stay at JC’s place. The house is in a fantastic location—just a 12-minute walk to the university, with supermarkets, shops, and essential amenities all within a 15-minute walk, and the train station about 20 minutes away on foot. The area is both convenient and quiet, making it a great choice for students and long-term stays. The house itself is well-furnished, modern, and fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The furniture and appliances are in great condition, and the living space is cozy and well-maintained. JC is an incredibly warm and supportive host. She is always proactive in offering help whenever needed, making us feel truly cared for—almost like being part of a family. Her kindness and responsiveness made our experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a convenient, well-equipped, and welcoming home in the area!

This is the second time we have stayed in this house - it has everything we need. Fantastic hosts (thank you!) The house is in a great location near the marina, close, HMS Trincomolee and restaurants (we really enjoyed Dhamaka). Very peaceful and comfortable stay. There is parking. Train station is very walkable, so we managed to squeeze in a great day trip to Newcastle during our visit. If you are looking for a place to stay in Hartlepool (or close to County Durham), we would recommend.

We absolutely loved Mandy’s place in Great Ayton. Perfect for kids and she did it right up for Christmas! We felt right at home being away from home for the holidays. We had plenty of space for our family of 4 (could definitely fit more!) and the outside space was perfect. Walking distance to shops and food, and amazing location for outdoor walks in the woods and to see sheep. ☺️ Mandy was also so welcoming and heartwarming and lovely to communicate with and had essentials ready for us at arrival. So grateful!

Great stay at this property. Location very beautiful - felt like you were away from it all but everything on hand if you required. Nice local pub and fish and chips locally were superb. Property was fully equipped, very clean and warm. Thank you.

Lovely stay in a comfortable house which was set in a beautiful location. Les made us feel very welcome and had left thoughtful and generous touches for Christmas including putting up a tree and decorations, and gifting us cava, cake, chocolates, nuts and fruit. Any questions were answered promptly and helpfully.

What a lovely flat great size for our family of four, nice and clean comfy beds nice living area and kitchen with everything you’ll need. The views from the living room looking onto the seafront are stunning with a very nice beach. Plenty of nice places to eat and drink out. Like a dummy I left my coat behind which Ivan as kindly said he’ll post on. Would definitely stay again. Thanks for a great stay Ivan.

We had a wonderful stay at the Seaview Penthouse, the beds were super comfy, the place was modern, cosy and spotlessly clean. We would definitely return here, it was beautiful to look out onto the sea every morning from our bedroom window. It also helped we had amazing weather for April! Thoroughly recommend The Lamp Room for breakfast, though do book if you can as it's super popular. Easy access to the Park & Ride for Durham and for visiting family in Sunderland, and collecting seaglass on the beach just down from the property is a great way to while away an hour or so. Communication from Melanie was prompt and she gave us plenty of info about the place in advance. Thank you again Melanie! We hope to come again soon!

Amazing stay - we really felt right at home! The home was so clean and had absolutely everything we needed. Check in was easy and flexible. The location is perfect, so much to do in the surrounding areas and some really pretty walks nearby. We’ll definitely be staying again and have already looked at available dates. Honestly we couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Great place to stay. Clean and tidy. Had a problem with the shower waste, spoke to Gary, problem resolved within hours. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Absolutely loved our stay at Alan’s place. It was so lovely and very homely with every amenity you would possibly need. The bed was so comfy and shower was really good. The location is amazing and looks straight onto Roker Pier and you can go for lovely beach walks and have some food or a coffee close by if you prefer. Every little detail has been thought of. We were sad to leave and we will definitely be back again. Thank you for a lovely stay.
