Vacation rentals with lake access in Hardy County

Beautiful cabin with close proximity to the lake and town. High end features and fixtures made for a spa like experience for my wife, my dog, and I! We really enjoyed sitting on the porch as the sun set after a day full of hiking and exploring the surrounding small towns!

We loved our stay at Bluejay Bay! The property was just as described and pictured. We appreciated the decor and extremely well stocked kitchen (thank you for having small bowls and not only giant ones, as well as kids dishes!). The water pressure and shower fixtures were a joy. We also appreciated all the dog touches (beds, bowls, treats, crate). We walked all the way around Lake Laura which was also lovely. Saw a pileated woodpecker right off the deck the first morning! ans we and our kids enjoyed all the games available. Lovely, peaceful, well-appointed dog and kid friendly place!

Perfect getaway for some R&R! My husband, labrador, Nash and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this sweet cabin. The wood burning fireplace was lovely and they had plenty of firewood for our use. About a 30 minute drive to Lost River State Park. We stopped at Lost & Found Pizza and Provisions for lunch after our hike, highly recommend their wood fired pizza, dog friendly establishment with a great vibe! We’re looking to going back this Fall.

This AirBnB was absolutely perfect for a girls weekend away to celebrate my SIL getting married. It was very clean and organized. Decorated well. Nice and open. Everyone loved the sun room, porch and hot tub. The AC downstairs is amazing, but it was a bit warm upstairs. Fit 5 people very comfortably. Very close to wineries, recommend using Shenandoah Wine Tours. Had dinner at Copper Kettle and it was great! The drive up to the house was beautiful but it is a little hard to maneuver with all the turns and steep hills but everyone arrived safely without issue. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We traveled to this location at an odd time. All of the winter activities were closed and the spring and summer activities hadn’t started yet. So you might think that would’ve set us up for disaster. However, the home was beautiful and we were able to find some really fun local attractions. Including the Shenandoah caves that the kids absolutely loved and the natural bridge with a nice walk to a waterfall. We also loved visiting the restaurant at the resort which had food that everyone loved with a really friendly atmosphere. It made us so curious to see how amazing this place is when you are in the midst of the winter season or able to enjoy some of the summer activities. Clearly this is a jewel and we would be happy to return again one thing I would warn about is there are very, very steep roads to get to the home so make sure your brakes are in good working order.

Great Cabin for a weekend getaway. Cozy, great lawn with fire pit, good beds etc. - everything you’ll expect from it is there and the photos tell you exactly what it will be. Wardensville is a cozy little town and the hiking optiona in the area were plenty and beautiful. .

Perfectly peaceful getaway! This home was exactly what my husband and I were looking for when planning a short trip to Basye. The location was great—tucked away in the mountains, pretty secluded, but still close to several wineries and hiking trails. The home looks exactly as it does in the photos. It was very clean, cozy, decorated beautifully, and stocked with even more than just the essential amenities. We really enjoyed walking around Lake Laura and spending the evenings stargazing from the deck. Liz was a wonderful host and very accommodating. She provided us with a welcome guide after booking, which was a helpful resource for us, and she would respond quickly whenever we reached out to her. As mentioned in the listing details, there is virtually zero cell service, so it’s a great opportunity to disconnect for a bit, but be sure to download your GPS directions before you get close to the home. Overall, I highly recommend booking this home—I know we will if we come back to Basye!

We had such a lovely stay at this cute mountainside condo! The space was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing trip. Doug’s recommendations for local food spots and hiking trails were so helpful!

This stay was absolutely incredible! The location is a bit remote, but that only adds to the peacefulness and privacy of the property. The views were breathtaking, especially the sunrise from the primary bedroom—truly unbeatable! The host was extremely accommodating, accepting our last-minute booking and responding quickly with great recommendations and answers to all our questions. If you're looking for a serene getaway with stunning scenery, this is the perfect place. Highly recommend!
