We stumbled on Brian's log cabin by accident after a change in our travel arrangements and ended up staying for four blissful nights. Brian was an amazing host throughout and responsive to our needs...he even helped change a flat tire discovered on the morning we were due to drive to Christchurch Airport. The log cabin is a unique structure with a mezzanine floor (for sleeping) surrounded on all sides by native beech forest. Lots of bellbirds, silvereyes and fantails...and a South Island robin couple who hung around. Mrs Robin came inside to say Hi. We love the feel of natural wood, the remoteness, the amazing lighting, the innovate water heating and the range of herbs and spices. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped. Staying here was also a wonderful introduction to the Hurunui area.

Thanks so much for a beautiful home to stay in. The grounds were immaculate, and the house had everything you could possibly need. We really enjoyed our stay, this was our second visit (stayed in one of the family lodges last time) and it was fantastic again. Its a great escape from the city!

This is a wonderful house set in a peaceful area filled with birdsong . It is very comfortable with everything you could need ! The fire is amazing ang keeps the house very warm and cosy. It is a short walk to the beautiful Hamner forest and an equally easy 10 min walk to the hot pools . I highly recommend staying here .

Andrew was a fantastic host and was very responsive to all questions and queries. He was proactive in reaching out to us when there was an unexpected power outage. The house and the kitchen were very well appointed. Plenty of room for us all. I recommend his property to others.

We had a great family holiday at Bernie’s place in Hanmer. The house was amazing, the photos don’t do it justice! Bernie was the best host, the house was beautifully made up with the heating on for our arrival. Every last detail was thought about. The house was immaculate. Lovely house in a great position to walk everywhere and enjoy everything Hanmer Springs has to offer. It had a bit less outdoor space than we were expecting but this didn’t stop us from enjoying a BBQ! The kitchen is very well equipped and it’s a lovely sociable space. The beds were huge and bathrooms spotless. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Second time we’ve stayed here while visiting Hanmer with family, and another great place to stay. Very close to downtown and the water park. Only shortfall is dishes, glasses and cups are very limited, so you’ll need to hand wash before you come close to filling the dishwasher. Hand to believe they don’t stock more than six of each item.

This accommodation was as listed as pictured. It was cozy, had all the things we needed to feel right at home. It’s super close to the village and can walk to almost all the places including supermarkets activity centres hot springs. Thank you Eva, it was a great stay we had an amazing relaxing time.
