This cozy 2 bedroom is a special place for me. It the house I first called home in Detroit. It represents a part of my life when all I wanted to do was live simply and make colorful art. This area has always had a strong DIY community and that is reflected in the fun art and funky aesthetic of this home. Some of the art is made by myself, some by my friends, and some is just found around town. It is full of life and fun and a perfect place to come home to after a day enjoying my city.

Monica is an exceptional host – she left very thorough instructions, followed up with us consistently, and had a magical space that made us feel right at home. The bathroom and bath tub were incredible! The neighborhood is unique with lots of DIY parks and urban agriculture – lots of friendly neighbors who were open and welcoming to sharing the history of the area and their dedication to maintaining it. We loved our stay here and would definitely come back again! Detroit is an awesome city, and this is a great location to experience the best it has to offer!

Stayed for three days. Place was as described, cozy. Wish they would provide broom, dust pan, shelf for cosmetics and towel rack in bathroom. The hot water issue is fixed, no problem getting a hot shower. Appreciated the remodeled bathroom and black out curtains in bedroom. Easy to get anywhere from this location.

Teena is an amazing host. She accomodated my friend and I at the very last minute. I had asked for an early check-in as I didn't have anywhere else to go. Teena and her team worked right away to get all the celaning done to accommodate us. She's super quick with her responses. Coming to the apartment I really enjoyed the place and absolutely loved the open kitchen. Will definitely coming back 😁

Overall a nice place to stay! I liked the area because there were bars, restaurants, and grocery stores all in walking distance and I didn’t have a car during my stay. The only issues I had were with the shower, which drained kind of slowly and the hot water for the building sometimes ran out. The stove is very old, so if you’re looking to cook elaborate meals this would not be the place for you, but it works for everyday cooking.
