Cosy cottage with log burner, a hidden gem

NancyRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We booked a 3 night stay in the week. Harry’s place was fantastic. He supplied enough breakfast items to feed a few people, which was such a bonus . The house was lovely, really homely and comfortable. Our pooch was catered for too. Some really beautiful walks from the house into the woods, which we all enjoyed. The coast was about 30mins drive, which we did visit. One thing to note, some of the local restaurants/takeaways were not open until midweek which wasn’t a deal breaker but good to know. The Pig at Combe was a great place to visit and eat, dogs allowed in the Folly, highly recommend. Communication from Harry was great and we did get to meet him as they only live next door. We would definitely like to visit again.

Historic Cider Barn

BlakeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This was our second time staying with George and Sue while visiting family in the area — and I’m sure we’ll be back again! We arrived late in the evening this time and were able to not only check in ourselves, but found the fridge stocked with breakfast bits, both of which we were very grateful for. The barn has so much character and is in the most beautiful and peaceful farm setting, a welcome escape for those looking for a quiet and comfy bolt hole.

Counting Sheep Shepherd Hut

Great spot, loved the hot tub and the thoughtful touches. Very peaceful area. Worth noting for those with mobility issues that parking is down a farm track and you can’t park near the Shepards hut so need to get a lift with Karen/carry luggage and food up the track if she’s not available.

Luxurious get away for walking fishing relaxing

AngRating, 5 stars2 days ago
What a beautiful place for a few days of peace- and quiet apart from the sound of beautiful birds and the river. The views were spectacular and the river at the bottom of the field was incredible. Some lovely walks on thedoorstep. Felt so welcoming as we walked in with delicious scones; jam and Devonshire clotted cream along with lovely fresh flowers on the side; beautiful touches. Could not fault it; soft fluffy towels; extremely comfy bed and lovely soft furnishings. Very cosy indeed. The weather wasn’t brilliant so spoilt our break slightly but did manage to have a few drinks in the evening on the patio along with coffee in the morning listening ti the bird song. Did the circular walk a couple of times into Dulverton and ate at the local pub; stunning walk through the forest and along the river. Tarr Steps is also worth visiting- the river agin is spectacular and so nice that our Lab could paddle safely in the shallow water. Had a wonderful break and would definitely come back.
