Shepherd’s Rest

EleanorRating, 5 stars83 months ago
Sam's place was a joy to stay at! It's an annexe of an old house on the high street with a lovely bedroom overlooking a courtyard and a spacious living room and kitchen area which overlook the garden. The garden is full of fruit trees and wonderful plants and is very well tended. A bathroom and a second toilet made getting out in the morning easy as well. Castle Cary is a wonderful town (recommend the Somerset Wine Company and the Gallery which Sam and his wife run!) We did use the jacuzzi (for an additional fee) and sitting in there listening to the live jazz from the bar and looking at the stars was a dream. We made a new friend in Bobby (the dog) who just wanted to play fetch Loved our night there and would happily return!

Pippins - Luxury Farm Getaway

AmandaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
What a lovely place, we loved it 🥰 Fantastic peaceful and private location. Well thought out property, really nice interiors, spacious, and well equipped. It felt really homely. Fresh eggs from the farm and biscuits on arrival were a treat. We didn’t meet Helen but she was a great responsive host before and during our stay. We hope to be back when we’re next in the area.

The Old Rectory Retreat - Spacious secluded luxury

HollyRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We were visiting family locally but would have come to stay here anyway as the accommodation is very special and in a beautiful rural locality. Sean and Zoe could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is really comfortable and with interesting furniture and art works . The king size bed was luxurious and the view from the bedroom overlooking the hills beyond was a wonderful start to the day. Lamyatt is a very pretty village close to National Trust properties, lovely rural walks and great pubs and restaurants within a short driving distance. Bruton and Castle Cary , the local towns, have plenty of interesting shops. Wells is also nearby with the Bishops Palace and the Cathedral. We were there over Armistice Sunday and went to a service there. The Retreat is well named, tucked at the back of Old Rectory and is completely private. But Sean and Zoe were always on hand to help in any way. Thank you so much - we would love to come back.

The exterior of the cottage features stone walls and multiple windows that allow natural light to enter. A small table and two chairs are placed in the garden area, surrounded by greenery and blooming flowers. An archway formed by climbing plants adds to the charm of the entrance.

The Apple Store

We had the most delightful time exploring Bruton with Jocelyn’s lovely Apple Store as our base! It was the perfect size for the two of us - very cosy inside and with the most gorgeous front garden. Jocelyn was a warm and friendly host. We highly recommend a stay here! 🍎🍏🍎

Stylish, Cosy, Countryside Annex + Patio/Parking

MaddieRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We loved staying at Little Townsend for New Year - Pamela and Zubair are the perfect hosts. The accommodation is clean, modern and cosy with everything you need. Location wise there’s lots to do in the local area - we visited Stourhead and Sherborne. Ate at a wonderful pub called The Old Inn about 5/10 mins drive away and also at the local pub The White Horse Inn which is walking distance. We could have easily stayed for longer and still not done everything we wanted to do! Will definitely revisit

Scandinavian Sommarhus Somerset

Gorgeous house, with lovely furnishings and a brilliantly equipped kitchen. A proper home from home rather than a soulless Airbnb. Easy to walk into Bruton / to Hauser & Wirth and great art and pastries once you're there. Perfect stay for two young families as there are lots of toys and books for them too
