Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Gournes Gouvon

We enjoyed a fantastic four days in Aris’ place, the views of the plateau and mountains are just beautiful! We felt right at home, and it was lovely to have Aris and his wife physically there at check in, a rarity these days! The images really don’t do this place justice, it is up some winding roads but we were prepared for that having visited the plateau in 2012. We can’t recommend staying here more, we really wish we’d have booked a longer stay! Aris had a fantastic hire car recommendation too, which was also great, and we had some amazing recommendations from them too. Thank you very much Aris!

It was absolutely amazing. Beautiful views from veranda. Gorgeously traditional house. A step away from a lovely beach. It was up a short, steep hill, perfect for us but might not be for everyone.

We can highly recommend this accommodation. It's tucked away in a very secluded spot, which makes it wonderfully peaceful. At the same time, you can reach restaurants and a mini market in just a few minutes. A car is essential! The garden is stunning. The biodiversity is incredible. There's always something new to discover. The house is quite small and simply furnished, but that was absolutely fine. Everything was clean, and that's what matters most. The long driveway leading to the house can be a bit intimidating—it just slopes down without any railing or guard. But that’s just part of the Cretan charm. Giannis was always very friendly and helpful—thank you for everything! We also got to know the neighboring family and even visited them. Such kind people. And the animals! Aphroditi the horse, a peacock, chickens, and turkeys—our daughter loved them. Overall a great experience. We were very happy and would definitely recommend it. Who knows—maybe we’ll be back in a few years!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Marianthi's and Thodoris' house. The sea side view is just epic; from the hammock you can just chill, look over the sea and the mountains and feel the soft sea breeze. They are truly wonderful hosts, and they quickly responded to any requests from our side and provided us with nice suggestions on places to visit. The house was just beautiful and well cared for, especially the garden and patio were wonderful for our young kids who loved exploring and picking up lemons, that we used to make an amazing lemonade. Many days we started the day by walking to the nearby beach so that the kids could make sandcastles and we could relax into the day. We also enjoyed the restaurants at the beach that have a decent selection and good quality food. We would highly recommend this place to anyone, but especially to families with kids.

Wir hatten in der Unterkunft einen JGA gemacht. Und hat es an nichts gefehlt. Es wurden Essen/Getränke zur Verfügung gestellt. Wir waren direkt verliebt und haben uns wie zuhause gefühlt. Für 6 Personen war es super und die Überraschung für die Braut ist uns auf jeden Fall gelungen. Ca. 15-20 Minuten mit dem Auto nach Heraklion, was absolut in Ordnung ist. Xristos ist super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sollte ich nochmal die Gelegenheit haben, würde ich immer wieder in dieses Airbnb :). Das Wetter war bei uns leider nicht so optimal, aber wir hatten trotzdem sehr viel Spaß. Danke für den wunderschönen Aufenthalt und die tolle Ankunft.

Mai 2025, 10 Nächte Aufenthalt zu dritt (2 Erwachsene, 1 Kleinkind). Die Villa ist wirklich traumhaft. Wunderschöner Blick aufs Meer und die Bucht. Sie bietet sehr viel Platz auch für mehr Personen (2 Paare, 4-6 Freunde, 2 Familien) und für längere Aufenthalte (Stauraum, Schränke und Regale, etc.). Die Ausstattung entspricht der Beschreibung und bietet, auch in der Küche, alles was man brauchen kann. Unser Highlight war die überdachte Terrasse. Unser Flug wurde kurzfristig vorverlegt. Ein deutlich früherer Check-In war in unserem Fall überhaupt kein Problem. Stelios ist ein sehr freundlicher, hilfsbereiter und engagierter Gastgeber. Wir empfehlen Ihn und seine Villa ohne Einschränkung weiter. Kleine Einschränkung: die Unterkunft ist etwas ab vom Schuss bzw. die Region ist etwas zersiedelt (hauptsächlich wegen der Geographie des Geländes). Ohne eigenes Auto wird es etwas schwierig unserer Meinung nach. Einen kostenfreien Parkplatz direkt am Haus gibt es aber.

The villa is clean, well stocked, and spacious. Simos was incredibly responsive and great to communicate with. The area is lovely, with a few excellent restaurants in walking distance, wineries and olive farms really close, and Knossos Palace also a short drive away. It’s a great place to unwind and the proximity to the Heraklion airport is also a bonus if you’re flying off the island.

appartamento moderno pulitissimo molto carino fornito di tutto,aria condizionata cucina attrezzata lavatrice letto comodo,unica pecca la mancanza della lavastoviglie. attorno a casa c'erano diversi gatti e inoltre 4 adorabili cani che vivono in quella zona, ma non abbiate paura sono dolcissimi e innocui, gli abbiamo dato da mangiare durante tutto il nostro soggiorno e ci facevano sempre le feste, se potete vi preghiamo di fare altrettanto, a creta non c'e' una vera concezione degli animali da compagnia e ancor meno dei cani randagi abbandonati a se stessi, un piccolo gesto puo' fare la differenza, grazie di cuore.

Dieses Appartement hat eine bezaubernde Lage zu Agios Nicolaos. So einen Ausblick am Morgen zum Frühstück und am Abend mit einem Wein, der dir von deinem sehr freundlichem Gastgeber als Geschenk beschert wurde, von der atemberaubenden Terasse zu genießen, war für uns ein großes Geschenk. Wir sind schon in vielen Airbnb Appartements zu Gast gewesen, doch Eirinis Wohnung war für uns etwas Besonderes. Die absolute Sauberkeit und die sehr gut ausgestattete Küche hat uns beeindruckt. Da wir auch gerne selber Speisen zubereiten, war es schön zu sehen, dass hierfür fast alles zur Verfügung stand. Schon beim ersten schriftlichen Kontakt und der herzlichen, persönlichen Übergabe der Wohnung erlebten wir die griechiche Gastfreundschaft und wußten auch das Begrüßungspaket in Form von Obst, Wein und diversen anderen netten Dingen sehr zu schätzen. Wir bedanken uns für eine wunderbare Zeit und werden bei unserem nächsten Kreta-Besuch bestimmt wiederkommen.

Logement conforme et encore mieux en vrai. Rien à redire tout était parfait et à la hauteur. Beaucoup de petits restaurants ce qui est un plus après une longue journée. Yannis est un hôte réactif et pleins de petites attentions :) Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés !

Super Kontakt mit Irini. Wir bekamen kurzfristig Bescheid, daß wir früher einchecken konnten. Wir hatten eine persönliche Schlüsselübergabe. Irina hat uns alles gezeigt, selbst für das 1. Frühstück war der Kühlschrank gefüllt. Trotz der sehr zentralen Lage, viel ruhiger als erwartet, keinerlei Lärmbelästigung. Zu Bedenken ist bei Anreise mit eigenem PKW die angespannte Parksituation und bei schweren Gepäck, das enge Treppenhaus bis in die 2. Etage. Der Ausblick entschädigt aber für alle Mühe. Wir würden wiederkommen.

Our family had a wonderful time here. The room was perfect and spacious for our family and everything we needed. The little play set outside entertained the kids a lot and is steps from the beach and excellent restaurants. We had a wonderful time!

We stayed here for 8 days with our son and his wife and our granddaughter. It was absolutely perfect for us, we spent several days in Heraklion and then toured the neighbouring regions of the island in our rented car. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, with a large and well-stocked kitchen which allowed us to cook some meals together. We were especially grateful for Eirini's offers of assistance and suggestions for activities such as the Oxi day celebrations on October 28. We would have missed it if she hadn't alerted us to the parade. All in all a perfect holiday, would gladly stay there again.

Pristine apartment and well provided for in terms of kitchen etc. Great showers and really comfy beds..... excellent apartment and Stella who checked us in was lovely. Aikaterini was very helpful in contacting us in advance of arriving too..... great place!!

The place was simply amazing. Quiet, clean and beautiful. A nice pool and a beautiful big garden made the experience even better. Furthermore, Kostantinos was one of the most hospitable hosts I ‘ve ever had. Always responsive and helpful no matter the time. We would always come back and we recommend the place without any hesitation!

This house is gorgeous and exactly as shown in photos and described in the listing. Everything was spotless when we arrived, bedrooms were very comfortable, and the place had effective AC and plenty of amenities to cook. The pool area was especially nice, with loads of different outdoor seating and sunbeds! What I would especially like to mention is how wonderful the host was. He was not only incredibly friendly and provided extensive good local recommendations for the area; but went beyond what we could have expected from an airbnb host during our stay. I would definitely rebook and recommend this listing.

Everything around this beautiful villa was perfectly arranged and we felt super safe as 7 girls! Manolis (the host of the villa) arranged transportation for us from and to the airport and all the service from Anna Maria Villages was also good. In the villa itself everything looked nice and clean. We had a very nice stay :)

Havre de paix et de sérénité nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux avec une vue fabuleuse sur la mer ! De nombreux restaurants sont à proximité dans le village ainsi que des commerces , de plus Heraklion n.est qu’à quelques kilomètres. Un grand merci à Minas pour son accueil chaleureux , sa bienveillance , sa disponibilité et toutes ses précieuses recommandations . Nous avons quitté cette maison avec regrets et espérons y revenir un jour !

We stayed here for my bachelorette trip with a group of girls and had the most amazing time! The villa was even more beautiful in person – clean, spacious, and full of charm. The outdoor space was perfect for lounging by the pool- he even tried helping us heat the pool bc we got a chilly day so we still had a great time and soaking in the Greek view. Our host was incredibly responsive and kind, helping us with everything from local tips to arranging transportation and a private boat trip and massages . It truly felt like a dream getaway – peaceful, private, and full of good vibes LUXURIOUS- 5 STAR Highly recommend for anyone who wants a good trip all the way around- group trip, girls’ getaway, or any special occasion! Thank you for making our stay in Crete unforgettable!

My family of 6 (with 4 small children) spent 7 days at Xara's location. It was fabulous. Xara and her husband were fantastic hosts with every bit of Greek hospitality (filoxenia) you can imagine. The location of the home is peaceful with a spectacular few of the Cretan countryside. Very accessible and minutes away from everyone you may need - gas station, a wonderful bakery (Fournistiri), village (Episkopi) offering fantastic food offerings, the airport, Heraklion, etc. Its all here. The hosts and home was also very kid friendly. The best part is that we got farm fresh eggs continuously throughout our stay and the children got to even feel some of the farm animals (chickens, goats, horses). Thank you Mihali and Xara. We had a fantastic time.

Insgesamt sehr gut, uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen vor allem für Familien mit Kindern allen Alters. Wir waren mit vier Kindern zwischen 1-15 Jahren im Februar eine Woche dort. Das ist super, bis auf das Bad gut heizbar, aber warmes Wasser ausreichend da auch für mehrere Duschen nacheinander. Super Kommunikation mit Manolis, sehr hilfreich und prompt, fühlten uns sehr als Gäste willkommen. Sein Bruder erwartete uns an der Hauptstraße und zeigte uns den Weg durch die wunderschönen Olivenhaine. Auto ist sinnvoll, theoretisch wäre es auch mit Bus und 10 Minuten Laufen erreichbar, sehr schöner Strand 15-20 min, paar Minuten mit Auto. Ausstattung der Hauses perfekt, die Fotos untertreiben eher. Zahlreiche Mücken haben uns eine unangenehme Überraschung bereitet, aber das ist wahrscheinlich für Februar auf Kreta normal. Das Wetter war sehr variabel: innerhalb einer Woche im Meer gebadet und Schneeschauer. Wir fanden es super.

What a wonderful stay! Antonios was incredibly communicative and greeted us warmly during check-in with fully stocked fridge, raki and a delicious platter of tomatoes, cucumbers and feta. The grounds were immaculate, the amenities were exactly as described on the listing. The location is wonderful - multiple small grocery stores located within walking distance, as well as a handful of delicious tavernas and restaurants along the water and in the nearby town. The location was excellent relative to activities on the island - we visited Knossos Palace, Skotino Cave (MAGICAL), Heraklion's Archaeology Museum, Star Beach (for some scuba diving + waterslides with the kids), and an Easter music event in a nearby town. We even rented a dune-buggy for the afternoon from the rental centre right next door. The villa itself had a great outdoor bbq, air conditioning units + smart TVs in every room, a well-stocked kitchen, laundry, clothes lines, beach chairs, pool toys, you name it, it's got it!
