Our amazing Dutch lake house in a quiet village 15 km from Amsterdam is perfectly placed for a city meets nature stay, with a great garden overlooking the water and plenty to appeal to traveling families. It’s a relaxing place to stay – swim, sup, sail directly from the garden – with the cities Amsterdam and Utrecht just around the corner. The lake can be explored by boat, taking you to small beaches, while the village and neighborhood can be explored by (e-)bikes provided by the owner.

Our child-friendly and cozy house in the center of Bussum is the perfect starting point to discover the beautiful surroundings of the Gooi with the family; hiking on the Bussumse Heide, to the market in Naarden-Vesting, sailing on the Loosdrechtse Plassen, people watching in Laren or Blaricum; it's all possible. A day in Amsterdam is also perfect. In 25 minutes you are in the center. We have lived there for 15 years so we also have wonderful tips for that.

Fine and atmospheric family home

Super nice home for a family! Cozy furnishings and equipped with everything that is nice with kids; spacious kitchen and dining room, living room with television, spacious bedrooms (I still have to photo children's rooms, are wonderful rooms). Three toilets, large utility room, washing machine and dryer, (children's) bikes, etc... Of course, coffee, tea and base for cooking (herbs, oil, etc) are available. Families only. Anything possible in consultation.

You can sail into Gooimeer within 5 minutes or take a walk in the toderbos.

Onze moderne woning met ruime tuin heeft 4 slaapkamers en is 3 minuten lopen vanaf het gezellige strand met ondiep zwemwater, haven met surfplank, kano- en boten verhuur en restaurants van Muiderberg. De woning is kindvriendelijk ingericht en heeft een gave boomhut in de tuin. Diverse speeltuintjes op loopafstand, Muiderslot op fietsafstand & 15 min met de auto van Amsterdam, Almere en Hilversum.

In this child-friendly environment you have a wonderful place to make fun trips. With Utrecht and Amsterdam steps away. The Bussumse heath is at walking distance and you can be in nature in a few minutes. But Bussum also has a lot to offer, you can eat out and shop here, among other things. After a long day, you can sit down and watch a movie on the projector.

We had a fantastic stay at Joëlle’s house! We travelled with two children aged 6 and 2 who loved the play gym, trampoline and sand pit with digger! It really felt like a home away from home with kids as it had all the amenities you need: high chairs, kids crockery, toys etc. The house is stunning, so much so that people passing by stopped to ask us about it. You can swim in the river in front which our 6 year old loved. Joëlle was very responsive and checked in to see how we were. The location is really beautiful and quiet. We used the bikes with the house so didn’t need a car but it did mean we had to time buses and trains very carefully as the bus to the house is only every hour. I think if you want proper freedom then get a car but it’s not mandatory as you can travel in to Amsterdam/Utrecht in 1h/1.5hrs, which we did a few times. Weesp is great and has nice restaurants and you can hire a boat nearby which is worth it! We would love to go back again!

Loved our stay! 4 bedrooms and 3 baths is difficult to come by in Europe, so that was a blessing! Street is narrow so be prepared to rent a small vehicle if renting. We had 5 adults & rented a Dacia Jogger 7 seater & fit just fine in the parking spot. Its a 1 way street. We loved the charm of the historic home...has been modernized. There is a nice backyard, but we were too busy to use it. There is a bbq grill, full kitchen, 2.5 baths. Fenna provides 5 bikes, 3 tall adult, one tall kid and one med kid bike....You can easily walk or ride bikes to an area just a few small blocks over with a very nice grocery store, a bakery, and burger restaurant. All wonderful, with friendly service and most speak English and Dutch or use google translate to speak with them. There is no microwave. Fenna communicates very well. Beds were comfortable. House was clean! Wood stove. Close to everything. House cozy and well stocked. Appliances are Miele so might be a good idea to familiarize yourself.

We had a wonderful stay at Mattijs’s place. The house was beautiful, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The garden was spacious and cozy, where we spent a lot of time relaxing. Our toddler especially enjoyed playing on the trampoline and interacting with the friendly cats. Mattijs was an excellent host—helpful, responsive, and flexible with check-in and check-out times. We highly recommend this place and would love to visit again!

A good place to unwind. Everything is great. The bus stop is only about a 5-minute walk away, from where the bus runs once an hour to Weesp – except on Sundays and public holidays. On foot, it takes 75 minutes to get to the train station in Weesp, where a “Sprinter” leaves for Amsterdam several times an hour. Hosts Marieke and Herman are very friendly and made it possible for me to return comfortably from the Weesp train station to the apartment on the Pentecost holidays, for which I am very grateful. My requests concerning the apartment (for example, a chair cushion) were met immediately. Even a high-quality piano is available. Conclusion: Highly recommended.
