Enjoy the quiet country feel, close to town. Listen to and watch all the native birds, swim in the pool, take a walk in our lovely area, or simply relax in the spacious cottage with a drink. Inside, go up the spiral stairs to the cozy mezzanine bedroom (please note that it's low up there). The unique stairs are from the old star observatory on Titirangi (the local maunga/mountain)! The sofa bed in the lounge can sleep 2. There is a new kitchenette, shower, vanity and toilet.

Our Studio is private and centrally located - a great place to explore all our region has to offer, easily. The studio is perfect for couples, solo travellers and business travellers. Pōhatu, meaning stone in Maori, is a beautiful 1925 Arts & Crafts house built by one of regions wealthiest landowners. Lovingly restored in 2020, the guest room is self contained and absorbs the morning sun. Pohatu is located beside the Waimata River, on a 3000m2 section surrounded by mature trees and gardens which afford privacy for sitting outside with your favourite beverage. The property is a short walk to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants.
