A very nice and comfortable place near the lakes and restaurants

This is a lovely home in a quiet and stunning setting on the water. Great for families with kids. This is a great location to explore the lake from and has lots of amenities available for the guests to keep kids busy. Hosts were so friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. Highly recommend a stay here.

Very nice location, very close to the city center. Important to note is that there is no parking space for the car. 500 meters away is a free parking space. We didn't think this was a problem. First drop off the luggage and then take the car to the parking lot, went well (one-way traffic). The cottage is modern and cozy and equipped with every comfort! Train station and bus stop are nearby to explore the further surroundings with public transportation. In the garden, there is a shed where you can store your own/rented bicycles. It is a quiet area and yet close to the city center! Wonderful place and definitely recommended.

One of the best Airbnbs we’ve stayed in! It was spotlessly clean (not a speck of dust anywhere!), everything had been thought of (including a welcome bottle of bubbles!), it was spacious, and very convenient for public transport....oh, and stylishly decorated! Being close to the train station meant that we could easily get into central Amsterdam, as well as go on day trips to Rotterdam and Zaanse Schans during our stay. Our favourite day was renting bikes in Zaanse Schans for the day and enjoying cycling through the countryside. Very happily recommend this place to others looking for a base near Amsterdam.

We stayed with 5 friends between the ages of 25 - 30 for a long weekend in this beautiful house. The house exactly matches the description and pictures, the two house owners were very kind and accommodating without being intrusive. They even provided us with eggs from their own chickens. The house is situated in a village with a small supermarket and a drugstore and a small "vending machine village shop", everything is within walking distance. By car, several larger villages, with a variety of different restaurants, sights and various activities, can be reached in less than half an hour. Our goal was to have a nice time with our friends and our expectations were more than met, we highly recommend the place to anyone! Thanks for the stay!

We booked the house because it appealed to us from the reviews. Our expectations were far exceeded. We arrived in a house where we immediately felt at home. In the kitchen there is everything you need for daily use. Everything is very clean and tastefully decorated. Communication with Saskia was easy. We rented the house with a friendly couple and went home after a week very well recovered. We can recommend the house without hesitation. We would like to come back next fall. We had a great time in this beautiful house right on the water! The location is simply fantastic – you can look directly at the water from every room. The house is very modern, stylish and designed with a lot of love for detail. The kitchen has a lot of kitchen appliances and spices. In general, nothing was missing. A small note for those with pollen allergies: There is a lot of nature in the area, which is beautiful – but it is advisable to have allergy medication with you if you are sensitive. We would come back anytime and can absolutely recommend the house!

The house are beautiful. It is very stylish and lovingly decorated and has a fantastic garden, with a wonderful view of the water and the field. We felt very comfortable. It was very clean and there was everything you needed. The hosts are super friendly and very easy to reach. We will be happy to come back!

A top accommodation, a whole experience

We had a wonderful week in Liz and Alex's apartment. If you love peace and nature, this is the place to be. The apartment is ideal for two people. In addition, you can use sun loungers and benches in the garden. By bike, you can easily reach all the places on the island. In the neighboring village of Osterend there is also a supermarket. You can take a nice walk right by the sea from the apartment, the dike can be reached in 5 minutes. Liz and Alex are very attentive and lovely hosts. The apartment is fully and very functionally furnished. For value for money, we only give 4 stars. Actually, it's a bit too expensive for April. But that's the way it is on the island.

We had a really nice stay with great views and a cozy, private balcony with evening sun. The decor is very tasteful and modern, the apartment is clean and well-maintained, the hosts are very friendly and make really delicious ice cream 😉 We will be happy to come back!

Jan-Warner's apartment in one word: great! A bright, light-flooded, tasteful, modern, furnished apartment. Of course, everything was clean and functional. For example, we have never found such a well-equipped kitchen in a vacation apartment. The whole apartment is furnished with a sense of detail. But the location surpasses everything! Right on the Sneeker Meer, on the corner of Princess Margret Canal and Starter Eiland. And in the apartment or on the terrace, an unobstructed view of the colorful hustle and bustle of the sailing and motor boats, as well as the commercial shipping. Even in bad weather, it was never boring with this view. Beautiful tours through the Frisian villages and lakes are possible by bike in the immediate vicinity. Sneek itself is just 15-20 minutes by bike.

Wow! Nor and Mat’s cottage was the perfect escape. The most comfortable stay with picturesque views. The home was immaculate, and Nor and Mat have thought of everything—including toys and crafts for our 3 year old. Their communication and instructions were great, too. The location was wonderful too—a short drive to many restaurants and stores while still quiet and peaceful. We loved our time there!

A beautiful cottage in which we immediately felt comfortable. The view is sensational: ducks, storks, rabbits, lots of greenery and waterside. On the terrace with the very cozy rocking chairs, you can relax and enjoy a sundowner. The amenities are perfect, the beds very comfortable and everything super clean. Rudi is a great host and very friendly. 😊 We will be happy to come back.

Absolutely a highlight! What a lovely home with lots of privacy, well appointed kitchen with good stuff and lovely beds. Beautiful boat rented and sauna on the water was really great!

Best location for access to Edam. Steps away from the cheese market. Ample parking for an SUV. Bathroom on par with American standards - nicer than most European bathrooms. Washer and dryer are full capacity. Enough sleeping space for a family of six. Playground in front of house. Hosts nice and responsive. Cobbled roads and narrow homes do make Edam not ADA friendly like much of Europe.

Such a lovely place to say in a peaceful, friendly village with swimming canal ,all within easy to navigate public transport to central Amsterdam. We had a fantastic time, our host Lonneke was helpful and very friendly. The cottage was very clean and as described. I would recommend staying here.

It is a beautiful accommodation overlooking the lake. The accommodation is small but it offers everything you need and we felt very comfortable from the first moment. There is also a parking lot directly opposite and very good restaurants and shopping nearby. It was a dream to wake up every day overlooking the lake. If the weather cooperates, you can also swim there. Will definitely be back :)

We had wonderful days with Tineke and family as a family of three. Great area to spend an active vacation (preferably on the bike) or to find peace and relaxation in the house and sauna in bad weather.
