Pluck a pot from the rack on the exposed brick wall and cook up a storm at this cool, contemporary pad with clean lines and intricate period molding. Checkerboard floors, white Eames chairs, and elegant arched windows create a mix of old and new.
“Cos's apartment is the best Airbnb apartment we have stayed in. It is large, very stylish in an industrial fashion and has all of the amenities one could reasonably hope for. We didn't cook, but the kitchen was well set up to do so. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower, which is in the bedroom, worked well and had good water pressure. There is a coffee machine, filled with fresh beans, and clear instructions on how to use all of the amenities. There is also a helpful suggested 3 day itinerary for Berlin and guide books to use whilst at the flat. The wifi and Netflix worked well as did the Washer, though this is not in the apartment itself, but in a locked cupboard down a flight of stairs. It is exclusive use for the apartment though, so a minor inconvenience only. The apartment is on the first floor of a walk-up block well located a flat 300m walk from the underground station (15 mins and 5 stations from Alexanderplatz; 30 mins to Brandenburg Gate). It is self check in - you collect the keys from an internet café around the corner, which worked smoothly - and there are 2 flights of stairs to carry bags up. Don't be fooled by the grafitti outside the entrance door or the worn carpet on the stairs, as the apartment itself is finished to a high standard. Kruezberg is an interesting suburb, with a blend of Turkish immigrants, students, young families and a broad range of 'gentrifiers'. If you are turned off by graffiti and a bit of grunge, it may not be for you, but we really enjoyed the vibrancy of the area and we are Gen X'ers. Given the generally younger crowd, there is some late night noise and nightclub music. The bedroom is at the back of the apartment, so street noise is limited, but the music can be heard until late at times. There are many good cafes and restaurants in the area. Cos thoughtfully has left a list of many of these along with his recommendations. The Greek restaurant, Kreuzberger Weltlaterne in particular was excellent and only 5 mins walk. The Korean BBQ and Sushi places were also very good. There is a Turkish market in the street outside the apartment every Tues and Fri, which is well worth a look. Cos's communication was always prompt and helpful. We didn't meet him, but he is clearly thoughtful and very organized. Thanks Cos for a great 5 nights in Berlin - we would definitely stay at your place again and have no hesitation in recommending others do so.”
“This apartment was really nice and clean! Also in the corona times they’ve created a really safe check-in method. The apartment had everything you need (towels, oil to cook in, microwave, etc). We really recommend this place for sure! Ik A l”
The apartment is located in Kreuzberg, a very lively, young neighborhood. The accommodation is quiet and idyllic, some of the antique furniture provides flair and cosiness. In the green courtyard the birds are singing in the morning. One almost forgets to be in a big city.
“We had such an amazing time at Ursula's place! It is in a perfect location in Kreuzberg, close to lots of restaurants and many sights and clubs. The place was so cute, roomy, clean and comfortable. The bed was so comfy, the shower had great pressure and was very hot, and the black out shades were a nice touch as well. Everything about it was perfect! Ursula wasn't there when we checked in but her daughter Elektra was there to show us the room and give us the keys, she was so sweet! We hope to stay again here next time we visit Berlin, and would recommend the place to anyone :)”
