Vacation rentals with a kayak in French River

We had a great stay, very beautiful area. We originally found it difficult to locate with our GPS taking us to the wrong location. However, that was our own mistake missing this detail in the listing as the hosts did mention this and described how to best locate the location. Hosts were quick to communicate with us when we got a bit mixed up in our directions. We did not realize that the Air BNB was located at a marina, but a visit in the fall was very peaceful and quiet. The fall colours were beautiful. Spacious and clean accommodations for a good price.

Paula made our stay amazing again! The fire was going and the place was toasty warm. We were lucky enough to be there while the goats were having their babies and Paula let all 5 kids stay out with her for hours. We all had an amazing peaceful weekend. Highly recommend!

Our family really enjoyed our time at this beautiful cabin! Check in was quick and easy and Jadey was extremely responsive to messages. Communication was great from arrival to departure. While we did not have access to the wifi, these things happen and we understood. A storm that blew in the day prior caused some issues which didn’t affect our enjoyment and it was a good opportunity to “unplug”. Included availability of the Kayaks, canoes, and water bike was a great way to explore. Excellent location for young families looking to spend relaxing days on the clear and shallow beach with the kids. We also took advantage of the basketball net and tennis court on the cooler days. Overall we had a great stay at Sunset Cove and have no doubt we will return again in the future! Thank you Jadey and Jack.

It was a beautiful weekend. The surroundings were peaceful and place was super cozy. Apt for a relaxing weekend trip by the lake.

"Our stay at this homestay was absolutely perfect. The place was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, offering plenty of room to relax and unwind. One of the highlights was definitely the private hot tub – perfect for soaking in the evenings under the stars. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, including a coffee maker, microwave, and all the cookware and utensils. There was also a smart TV, fast Wi-Fi, and even a washing machine which came in really handy. The outdoor area was lovely, with a sitting space and a small BBQ setup. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and respectful of our privacy. They also provided clear instructions and great local recommendations. Would 100% stay here again!"🥰

This Lake Nipissing rental was very much what we were looking for to do an ice fishing outing for 6 mostly retired guys – it was almost directly in from Lonely Island (about 1.5k walk). The actual cottage is very large, and it was nice having 2 ½ baths. The kitchen is very big with a huge island that also works as a pub height dinning area and there are tons of cabinets with all of the kitchen utensils/accessories you’ll need to make great meals. There are a few rough areas, which comes from a lot of use (e.g., trim work, a few chips, dents and worn chairs, shower heads, etc.), but for a northern cottage rental I would say it would be 4 to 4.5 stars and for an ice fishing choice I must give it 5 stars. I will very much consider this location again if we decide to do another ice fishing trip to this location again in the future and if you were doing a non-winter trip, I’m sure this location would be a perfect area with boat access and placement on the water for a large family outing.

We came in from Alberta for a wedding in the area, and stayed at Tara’s place. It was much larger than we had imagined, and the property was just gorgeous! We would absolutely book with Tara again if we were back in the area.

Brian was a wonderful host and offers a clean, orderly, peaceful and spacious home to enjoy. Attention to detail was evident throughout the home and the house was well-equipped with anything one might need while staying at a home away from home, including musical instruments and plenty of board games! Brian was very responsive in his communication and made sure we had what we needed during our stay! We were visiting over Easter and didn’t get to enjoy the place during the summer season but know it would be a fun-filled lake vacation during the hot summer months. Highly recommend this well-taken care of home and the host for a memorable bnb experience!

Our family had a great stay at Lucy and Will's property. It was an exceptionally snowy winter weekend while we were there, and she was kind enough to be flexible when we wanted to change our arrival and departure times to avoid the worst of the road conditions. The kitchen is nice and everything was fully functional. The only thing that we couldn't figure out how to use was the gas fireplace. The location is convenient to Arrowhead Provincial Park. The cottage is spacious and can host two small families comfortably. The kids had a great time playing in the snow and in the garage, even if it was quite cold at times. Thank you for the stay!

We had a great little fall getaway weekend and the cottage was perfect. It was just the 2 of us plus our 2 little dogs, which made for a very quiet, peaceful and relaxing escape. The sun rise and sunset over the lake is picturesque! The cottage had all the amenities we needed to cook our meals and just relax. Kim was wonderful to correspond with and was able to offer us an early check in and checkout to make the most of our weekend. Would definitely recommend a visit to this wonderful cottage on Pickerel Lake!

The cottage was lovely - had everything available, from kitchen supplies (+), outdoor activities (kayak, canoe, paddle boards, peddle boat, ladder ball, croquet, etc), and lots of movies & books! You can never be bored here or feel like you're missing something. I loved that everything was labelled and organized, so you could always find everything you need. The location is so beautiful and peaceful, and right on the water. My family and I had an amazing time and would come back again! Thank you!!

Great place to stay for a large group of people! Very spacious with lots of room inside and outside. The lake is on the smaller side if you have a pwc but during the week there is almost no other boat traffic so it worked great for us with tubing, boating, and fishing! The cottage itself is a little dated but there was everything we needed to enjoy our stay:)

Great experience at this cottage. We came during the winter, and there was a lot of snow through the weekend. The location is close to various winter activities like skating, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and tobogganing, and not far from groceries. The property itself is large and has access to the frozen lake. The outdoor hot tub was very popular. We ended up using the driveway as a toboggan hill when we got snowed in and the main road was not / could not be plowed with the heavy snowfall. Our group of 14 adults had no issues with accomodation, just a note the bunk bed is more appropriate for youth than adults. Everyone had lots of space to relax. The kitchen was large enough for everyone to help cook. 3 washrooms is perfect for a group this size. We really enjoyed the main living room's glass windows. Overall we would come back again in the future.

We discovered the perfect secluded getaway in this beautifully maintained property. The grounds were consistently plowed during snowfall, making our winter stay worry-free. The main cottage comfortably accommodated our group of 5, featuring a fully-equipped kitchen and a thoughtful welcome kit with snacks and coffee. Two full bathrooms with provided toiletries made sharing the space easy, and the comfortable beds ensured restful nights. The clean, spacious hot tub was perfect for relaxing after outdoor activities, and the reliable wifi kept us connected. We enjoyed both the excellent heating system and the cozy wood fireplace, all while taking in beautiful waterfront views. Killbear Provincial Park, just 40 minutes away, offered excellent winter hiking. Quick tips: bring extra towels as only one is provided per person, and pack slip-on shoes for travelling between cottages. While water has a slight odour, it tastes perfectly fine. We’d love to return in the summer! Highly recommend!

It was a lovely place to stay. The kitchen was well equipped, and the barbecue was clean and ready to go. A very good spot with easy access to the water with water craft. Not too appealing for swimming due to weeds, but platform further out is available. I would definitely recommend it overall.

Daniel was super flexible with check in, was very communicative throughout and was overall a great host. The adorable cabin has electricity (solar-with a back up generator), and everything you need for your stay if your into mostly off grid living. it's so quiet and private. Their dogs are so friendly and still respective of your space. I can't say enough good things! Definitely worth the trip if you're looking for some peace!!

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful cottage! The jacuzzi and sauna were perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The cottage was clean, well-equipped, and had a warm, inviting atmosphere. The peaceful surroundings made it a great escape from the city. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!

It was our second stay Dee's place for a ladies weekend. This is one of our favourite spots! Comfy beds, each bedroom with a bathroom, 2 large seating areas, well equipped kitchen. And Dee is quick to respond to any questions. Thanks again Dee!

I can't thank Tiffany and Pat enough for being amazing hosts and helping me through a difficult time. I stayed there on two separate occasions. The location of the house is right on the lake and sitting and watching the sun rise was beautiful. Narrows Convience Store is down the street and so is Mikisew Provinvial Park. The house has all the amenities (more than any other Airbnb I have stayed at). I would rats it more than 5 stars if I could. Thanks again so much!

I would 100% stay here again. The apartment was fantastic, extremely clean and cozy! We didn't have many concerns or requirements during our stay, so we didn't have much interaction with Marsha outside of our check in and check out instructions. Check in was super easy and directions were clear. Check out was also extremely simple and had extremely basic requests for checking out. If you are looking to stay in the area, I would for sure recommend staying with Marsha.

What a magical place! The cabin was exactly as described and had a really warm, comfy feeling. We were travelling as a couple with 4 young kids (no small feat!), and we were totally comfortable and found the cabin stocked with everything we needed. Travelling in the middle of quite a big snowstorm, we were a little concerned about finding the place and the long driveway in. The directions, however, were really clear and the driveway was really well ploughed, and this was so appreciated. Matt and Lori also checked in frequently to make sure everything was great. Thank you for a great little escape!

A small cabin that has everything you need for a comfortable stay to unwind and u plug. Beautiful view of the lake. The inclusion of a canoe and kayaks was an added bonus. Getting there was a bit tricky bur the host gave us very detailed instructions so it was no problem. Highly recommend this “little cabin in the woods” if you are looking to be in this area and have a small group.
