We came with three kids and were a bit nervous about being off the beaten path — but this place turned out to be a gem. The garden is like a wonderland, the house is well-equipped (we cooked pancakes in the morning!), and everyone — especially Arali and Brenda the caretakers — made sure we were safe and comfortable. The rooms are charmingly rustic, though you should know that there’s no hot water on demand. You can ask for it to be heated, but we actually ended up enjoying the cool morning rinse — it woke us up better than coffee. :) There’s currently no direct way to reach the lake, which was a small letdown for our kids. But with all the other experiences — the theatre night with Rayka, the drumming, the monkeys — they didn’t even remember this by the end! Its a very unique place - go check it out!

Perfekt getaway för dig som vill uppleva Ugandas natur, kärlek och stillhet tillsammans med familj eller vänner. Daniela tog emot oss med öppna armar och vi kände oss som hemma direkt, vi hade möjligheten att vara där under Jul. Vi badade, besteg stora kullar, grillade, allt inom 200 meters räckhåll från gården. Drömmigt! Kommer definitivt komma tillbaka dit, hur ska man inte?

Gorgeous getaway with very friendly ans helpful staff. We loved the views and how remote it felt! The only issue we encountered was the inaccessibility of the property after rain. However, the staff was very caring and helpful, offering a quick resolution.

Rayka en Brenda zijn heel behulpzaam om heerlijk ontbijt te maken en advies te geven om leuke activiteiten en lekkere restaurantjes voor te stellen! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—we truly felt at home. We cooked for ourselves, and the kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed. I was especially impressed by the thoughtful touches like solar-powered battery banks and torches. The whole place was perfectly set up for a cosy, comfortable stay. The host also kindly accommodated our special request, which made our visit even more memorable. I can’t wait to come back!

My partner and I have been coming to Uganda for long stays over the last few years, and this was most wonderful and authentic Airbnb experience so far. JPs stylish cabin is nestled inside a community that feels very peaceful, surrounded by nature and with a wonderful view of the Rwenzori mountains. yet you can get to the city of Fort Portal in a 15-20 minute boda or car ride. Meeting JP was also one of the highlights of this stay. He is very warm, friendly and great to chat to. He is very responsive and quickly available. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and pleasant. When we informed JP we would be working remotely in the cabin during our 2 week stay he quickly installed a WiFi router and upgraded the solar electricity installation to accommodate us. Highly recommend booking this place during your visit to Fort Portal for a truly pleasant and unique stay!

Sowedhi’s property is a wonderful place. It is very clean with hot showers and a great breakfast. The location is perfect for exploring the city, but far enough away to feel peaceful. The setting is well thought out with beautiful plants and tress surrounding the property. The breakfast is fantastic and we very much enjoyed the pancakes, fresh fruit and great coffee. Sowedhi and his team make you feel at home and answered all our questions about the area. Sowedhi helped us with planning days out and we really enjoyed visiting the caves and waterfall near by. Would highly recommend this place for a visit to Fort Portal.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful location with a cute little Banda. It was perfect for our needs. Toilet block was clean with warm showers. Would recommend and go back. It was a little hard to find the place- hope this can be rectified. Harriet was very friendly.

Chez Bibie et Tom, c'est l'endroit qu'il ne faut pas louper autour de Fortportal. Le lieu est idéal pour se relaxer, se ressourcer. Bibie et Tom sont très discret. Resta, la cuisinière, prépare des plats typiques et délicieux que vous pouvez partager ou bien les prendre aux heures qui vous correspond. Bibie et Tom sont toujours présents pour nous conseiller sur les choses à découvrir. On s'y sent comme à la maison. Je recommande les yeux fermés.

Das Cottage am Rande der Welt ist eine einzigartige und entschleunigende Erfahrung. Die Aussicht von dee Terrasse aus ist atemberaubend. Julia ist eine tolle Gastgeberin, die immer Tipps hat und einem bei der Reiseplanung und Erkundungen zur Seite steht. Es war toll einen Einblick in die gemeinnützige Arbeit durch den Verein Kuza Omuto zu bekommen und direkt mitzuwirken (mit den Kids basteln und spielen) und dass ein Teil der Unterkunftskosten als Spende genutzt wird, ist einfach genial. Wir kommen wieder!

I highly recommend staying here! I’ve stayed in a dozen places in Uganda and this by far the best. The apartment has everything you need and is beautifully decorated. The host, Karungi Grace, is very helpful and communicative. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable! The rooftop is especially awesome with beautiful views in every direction. Next time I come to Uganda I will definitely stay here again.
