Orchard Cottage - An 18th Century Cumbrian Cottage

A great Airbnb in the traditional fashion we enjoy: ie hosts live next door and greet you in person. The cottage itself is 5* and the garden a delight. Thoroughly recommend.

Listed 17th Century Lake District Farmhouse.

EmmaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We absolutely loved our stay at Ruthwaite Farm. The property is large, spacious and very peaceful. Although the property is large, the design and furnishing means it still feels very cosy and homely. I particularly loved the sofa on the landing area upstairs with views of the mountains. The kitchen is large and very well equipped. There is a large dining table with a big ordnance survey map of the Lake District behind which was extremely helpful (much easier than laying a map out on the table!) and a personal touch that I loved :). The village location is so peaceful and idyllic, and means you get a taste of real Lake District life away from some of the more touristy areas. David is a great host - the most friendly, helpful and responsive host of all airbnbs I have stayed at.

Ivy Cottage near the Lake District

ShireeRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Great find of a stunningly beautiful cottage in a peaceful village. We were the area for a family wedding , which was changed venue at last moment. Cottage was to high standards, hosts left lovely jam and brownies (both homemade & were yummy). Great nights sleep for everyone, beds were so comfy and cosy. I didn’t want to get up. I’ll definitely be back to Ivy cottage for another holiday. Can’t recommend ivy cottage highly enough. Thank you James and Sarah.
