Local attractions such as Zip World, Antur Stiniog and Llechwedd Slate Caverns are a few minutes away. The cottage is also ideally located for visiting nearby Porthmadog and Betws y Coed.

Penmachno is a 10 minute walk, with a village shop and pub. The cottage is attached to three agricultural stone barns. Chickens, sheep and ducks graze the fields that surround the house. Cae Canol Bach provides a lovely romantic get away. Situated on the lower slopes of the Manod mountain you will be surrounded by spectacular views of the valleys flowing towards the sea. This cosy hideaway offers a galleried mezzanine bedroom above an open plan spacious living area with wood burning stove, kitchen and shower room. We allow up to 3 well behaved pets who are NOT tempted by sheep. A 4x4 is required between October and April and recommended between April and October.

Traditional 19th Century Slate Miners Cottage

A characterful original slate miner’s cottage dating from the late 1800s. Located in Tanygrisiau, just outside the historic slate-mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, the cottage is a short walk from local shops, amenities and the village pub. A narrow-gauge heritage steam railway runs along the bottom of the garden and can be seen from all rear-facing windows. Ideally placed for Llechwedd Slate Caverns, zip wires, mountain biking and mountain walks.

Blaenau-Ffestiniog is ideally located to explore Snowdonia National park. Approx. 10 miles to great beaches (Porthmadog, Harlech) and other picturesque towns such as Betws-y-Coed and Beddgelert. Catch the historic Ffestiniog railway to Porthmadog or explore Portmeirion village.
