It is not 5 star accommodation but it did not say it was. It was clean and things worked. Great value for a group of friends travelling. 2 night stay sitting on the deck in the evening, the view of the falls and below was great. We ate at the manor a couple of minutes' walk away and enjoyed Karoke. Second night we made dinner. What was important to us? a) 8 of us can stay together b) keeping cost down c) clean. We will come back in again on the next trip in 2026.

Takou River Lodge - Riverside Retreat, Kerikeri

We had a wonderful stay on the river. We stayed at the lodge and it was cozy and beautiful. Anna was responsive and took great care of us. The house is large and has plenty of space for a family or group of friends. We took the kayaks down the river to the beach and it was really fun. We had cozy nights by the fire and enjoyed waking up surrounded by the beautiful landscape they’ve created and the sound of birds. The airbnb is also close to a magical bay called Matauri bay. Highly recommend a stay here!
