Wonderful, peaceful cabin in Mindo. We had a great time in this cozy cabin, near to many attractions and the river! Elaine is a very hospitable and friendly host, she gave us some great recommendations for our stay in Mindo.

How to summarize a review for a place that has the potential to change your life has been a task. To stay with Cheryl and Jon at the Finca Aveterra is to be unplugged yet connected, cared for with generous hospitality, educated and informed of new ways of living; and for us specifically, reminded of who our Creator God is and the life He intended for us to live. It has been difficult to leave and felt like a departure from friends, family and home when we did. Cheryl was beyond gracious, helpful and thorough coordinating our arrival and departure, performing chef duties (unbelievable), connecting us to in-country travel means, greeting us in the middle of the night; Jon was passionately energetic sharing about syntropic agroforestry, touring us through the farm, the valley (!!), and both touring us through the lodge, sharing the fruit of their labor (literally), engaging conversation and generosity. Thank you for the time and grace of this beautiful place, Jon and CC. Con abrazos.

We have stayed at Juan Diegos' cabin twice. The reseve is remote, beautiful and peaceful. Birds, frogs, horses and other wildlife makes you feel like you are part of the nature. One of the walking trails takes you to the river and a picturesque biopool that is literally located in the middle of a pasture and fed by rainwater. It is the most unique pool that we have ever seen. The dining area has a large terrace with a view of mountains and an elevated view over the river. This terrace is a perfect place for flexing and yoga or just having a romantic moment. The breakfast is delicious and healthy and the hosts are very responsive and friendly. The arcitecure and design of the cabin are unique and stylish. Everything is done with meticulos attention to detail. You can cook your own food if you wish, which we did for some meals. The kitchen has what is needed for most simple dishes. We also loved the jaccuzi which worked as promised. Great both with or without kids.

This is a lovely, custom-built little house in a scenic location. If you have a four-wheel drive vehicle it would be perfect. We came by taxi and didn't ask enough questions beforehand. It is four km from Nono and the last km is steep and requires a four-wheel drive. Our hosts shuttled us from the junction when we arrived and when we left, so we were fine. They live about a ten-minute walk from the house via a path that goes through fields. If you had a normal vehicle, I think you would park at their place, as their access road is drive-able with a normal car. The "living room with fireplace" is actually outside but enclosed on three sides. They provided wood and we were comfortable. They arranged a wonderful driver to take us to Yanacocha Biological Reserve. He grew up in Nono and had lots of local information. It was a great day trip. The house and hosts were awesome; just be prepared for remoteness. Don't plan on walking to a nearby restaurant or calling a taxi.

Nos encantó el lugar. Buscábamos con mi mamá un lugar para desconectarnos, lejos de la gente y el ruido. Que bonito el lugar, tener el río a lado es divino y estar a 15 minutos caminando a una cascada, realmente es lo que necesitábamos. Sin duda, regresaremos, tiene todo lo que buscamos, además que los masajes de Carmen también son espectaculares. Lugar totalmente recomendado para descansar y recargar energías.

Fue una experiencia increíble! La vista y el lugar estuvieron espectaculares, definitivamente sería un lugar al que volveremos!

Thank you for the great stay in Quito. The little house is very unique with the built in tree and the view of the Equator monument. It is a little out of the way but we were able to get around easily by meeting the Uber drivers in front of the little museum next door.

Excelente lugar a menos de 10 minutos del centro de Los Bancos por si necesitas algo que te haga falta. Lo mejor los senderos para caminar ya que es una experiencia que vale la pena disfrutar de principio a fin.

La comunicación con Andrea y con la madre quien es la que está en la propiedad es excelente, están siempre pendientes y las respuestas son casi inmediatas, de igual forma están pendientes para ayudar con cualquier cosa que haga falta( en mi caso unos utensilios de cocina) Con respecto a la propiedad el lugar es hermoso y se siente mucha paz, también están terminando nuevas cabañas para poder atender a más huéspedes, la piscina increíblemente caliente, el área de playa está arreglado para disfrutar durante el día con hamacas bajo techo y en las tardes para unos atardeceres de película, estamos esperando otra oportunidad para visitar nuevamente el lugar. Mi única recomendación depronto colocar un letrero al algo en la entrada para poder ubicar el lugar, unos de los días que llegamos de noche nos pasamos la entrada
