A house in the middle of a forest. Enjoy mountain life in one of the few magnificent old houses built by Miyadaiku. At the house at the end of a fairytale forest road, you can BBQ, make a fire, boil a Goemon bath, and enjoy natural play that can only be experienced in the mountains. There are no street lights, and at night you can see the starry sky. Spending time feeling the mountain with all your senses, which can be seen in different ways depending on the season, reminds you of the rich, peaceful time that has been forgotten in modern times. Centered on a magnificent large pillar, it is an old house with earthen walls and built-in storage, but the first floor is covered with pure cedar boards, giving it a new feel. The water area features a newly built island kitchen and a large wash basin. The bath is a Goemon bath that uses both wood and gas, so you can cook with wood or use hot water. Outside the house, there is a friendly sign cat named Aosuke, who will come up to you if you are outside. It is located about 15 minutes by car from the Ishikari Mountain ropeway, making it easy to get to the mountains.

Enjoy an extraordinary space that you can't taste in the city, such as the rivers and nature of the four seasons. This inn is packed with a veranda on the second floor with a view of cypress baths, tree houses, sunken bridges, outdoor dining spaces with roofs, sup, sea kayak rentals, and art work surfaces. We recommend 6 guests for a relaxing stay.(Futons for up to 10 people will be provided, but it will be narrow) We have a water server as tap water is not drinkable in the landscape water. If you are traveling by bicycle, you can park your precious car in the dirt. We hope you will feel like you have come to camp with insects and the inconvenience of the facility.

Built with a good old Japanese traditional structure, this old house, about 70 years old, has a stairwell beams, earthen walls and stucco, a Japanese-style room that leads to a wide earthen floor, and a Goemon bath. Try to experience traditional Japanese life in a space filled with the wisdom of the ancients. *Earthquake retrofitting work completed in 2023 (compliant with the new earthquake standards of 1981)

Ricefields, Rivers and Mountains

This house is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern making it convenient but also authentically Japanese. Mountains and ricefields are beside you, the Shimanto River can be heard. The ground floor is all yours. It's spacious with a large tatami sleeping room that can become two. The A/C is only in one room if the doors are closed. There is no central heating. Restaurants are within 10min or you can prepare local foods in your own equipped kitchen. It’s designed for long and short stays.
