Villa vacation rentals in Eastern Province

Chitra went out of her way to help us with advice on local hikes, a Sri Lankan cooking lesson, purchasing local ingredients, and discussions on Sri Lankan history. Happy Stones is a beautiful villa, perched on a steep mountain slope with spectacular views of the woodlands and hills below. The surrounding small villages are charming, and gives insight into the Sri Lankan way of life, away from crowds of tourists.

Large property in nature by the beach (very beautiful). Tree garden with a large pool. Air conditioning in bedrooms but not in living spaces (fan). Very nice caretaker. There is a kennel with two adorable dogs. Great showers. No cook but a supermarket a few kilometers away as well as surf breaks. The only downside is the smell of the cow enclosure next to the kennel can be unpleasant at certain times of the day.

Nice view and private. Everything was perfect.

We had 6 very nice days in the house. Private, slithly remote but with easy access to beach, surf, restaurants and all we needed. The family running the house are super kind, responding and helpful. Thanks

We had an incredibly relaxed and satisfying stay at Rajiv’s place. It’s hard to believe this charming bungalow is 144 years old, thanks to Rajiv’s meticulous upkeep while preserving its colonial charm in every corner. Ideally located in Nuwara Eliya, it’s a perfect retreat for anyone looking to unwind. The hospitality was exceptional—caretakers Lasantha, Pradeep, and the team went above and beyond, from welcoming us with tea to preparing amazing dinners. They even let me join in and cook, which I thoroughly enjoyed! A special thanks to Rajiv for personally staying an extra hour to greet us and give us a tour of the property before leaving. Highly recommend this beautiful place for an unforgettable getaway!

Wow! What a stunning location! Trinco House is a gem, exceptionally maintained and exactly as shown in the photos—no misleading angles, which is a refreshing change. Sahana and her team went above and beyond, ensuring our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They were highly responsive to our needs, even arranging a special BBQ dinner at our request, which made us feel right at home. The culinary experience was outstanding, with delicious dishes that left us wanting more. The complimentary fruit basket, ice creams, beverages, biscuits, and snacks were excellent touches that enhanced our stay. Overall, our time at Trinco House was spectacular. It provided the perfect setting for quality family time and lasting memories. I highly recommend Trinco House for anyone seeking a wonderful getaway. We spent a delightful three days in this beautiful home, steeped in Sri Lankan history and tradition. The staff, headed by Pathi cooked us the most delicious meals, including meals where we sourced food from the local market. Pathi went out of his way to make us feel at home and completely pampered us. Not only is StonyHurst a perfect place to relax after the heat of the coast, it is a good springboard for visiting high tea estates, as well as playing golf at the course in Nuwara Eliya. We will cherish our memories from our stay.

This is an outstanding villa in a hillside location with wonderful views of the surrounding hills including Little Adam's Peak, a waterfall, endless forest and low areas far away towards the coast. Rumesh was very welcoming and helpful with walking suggestions and tuk tuk bookings. Ella is a 30 min ride away and the track down to the villa from the road is bumpy with steep sections. The food was home made, delicious and varied and was cooked fresh each day by a lady in the local village. The villa has two very well appointed bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms and a large central area where we ate meals and relaxed. There is a small library and some yoga mats. Rumesh had planted cacao, mango, curry leaf bush, coriander and lime trees close to the property and we were able to walk through these. The wildlife includes a profusion of Sri Lankan birds, squirrels, boar and fire flies. This is one of those special places in the world that will stay with you for ever. Thank you.

What a lovely place to stay to get away from it all! Beautiful view from the balcony. We really enjoyed watching the mist roll over the hills. Fernando was a great host - very responsive, and picked us delicious bananas and avocados from his garden!
