Guesthouse vacation rentals in East Africa

I came with my 3 kids and hubby from CT. This was very peaceful and relaxing. I love clean bed..white linen and comfort. My kids could also play in the garden for hours. We spend lots of time on the patio even at night. In between we could also focus and do some work. The kitchen was very clean. The host was amazing and helped us with anythig we needed. It felt like home. Thank you so much.

What can I say?! An incredible spot to spend a few peaceful days in the city. it felt like a home away from home the second we walked through the door. Our hosts were fantastic and made us and our pups feel welcome the entire time we were there. The pool was a delight, and the view over Sandton was glorious. I can't recommend Alex & Gideon, or their cottage, highly enough.

valda created an Italian getaway in the African bush, really cool. The apartment is small but very cosy. It is the perfect stop when traveling to Kruger Park or Johannesburg. Valda will give you a very warm welcome. Thanks Valda!

Highly recommend!! We had a wonderful time staying with Arnaud and Nouba. Great, idyllic surroundings, extremely delicious food and very likeable staff. Arnaud has helped us a lot with the opportunities for activities and implementation. Would come back anytime! Ideal for anyone who longs for peace and idyll. A "small" distance has to be traveled to the city.

Top notch stay that took me right back to my childhood in Kenya. Beautiful house and gardens, lovely spacious interiors and all amenities. Jeremy was very helpful and responsive and his staff (Martin) were superb. Available and responsive. Really a perfect stay and so much better than a characterless hotel. Beautiful tranquil garden and pool. Hope we can return soon. What a lovely base to have in Nairobi. we all loved it, old and young.

Near to town and a place you can relax and find some rest and quiet. Was great for me.

We so enjoyed our stay, the accommodation, location and surroundings were perfect. Stu & Ali were wonderful hosts and very welcoming. We were made to feel like old friends and will definitely be back again.

Very good hospitality from Odile who is warm, caring and friendly... She gave us lots of explanations about sightseeing and shared her garden with the plants she cooks. The accommodation is comfortable, functional and independent with its terrace, garden and a parking space. We had such a great stay this past weekend! Check-in was completely seamless, and the host was incredibly friendly with top-notch communication and super clear instructions throughout. The place itself is beautiful—just as described in the listing. One thing worth mentioning is the backyard: it's much more spacious and lovely in person than it looks in the photos. It was one of the highlights of our stay! My friends and I were so happy with everything—highly recommend!

I had an amazing stay at Tariro and Isaac’s Airbnb! From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so welcome and at ease. The house itself was absolutely stunning – immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and incredibly safe. They truly thought of everything, anticipating all our needs and making sure we had everything we could possibly want for a comfortable stay. It felt like a true home away from home. I can’t thank them enough for their hospitality, and I highly recommend staying as it was 10/10 experience!

I was hosting my grandmother and she struggles to walk and Magdels place was just the perfect spot. The location is central and ideal and she was very helpful and mindful. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a quiet cosy, place to rest while visiting the bustling city of Joburg.

We stayed 15 days in Flic en Flac the accommodation is ideally located, close to shops, restaurants, doctor beaches everything is within walking distance. The accommodation is as described, the residence has at the back a garden with a very pleasant pool after a day of moping. We did not meet Pamela and Steven but they remained very available if needed. We were welcomed by Antonio the caretaker very kind and available as well. I recommend it in a second 😊 Noémie

Temwani's place is green, quiet and homely. The unit is well furnished and cozy. I would recommend this listing for people looking to visit Lilongwe.

The place is amazing! It's spotless, modern, spacious. You have everything you need. The area is quiet and peaceful. The hosts are incredibly kind. I cannot come up with a single fault. I definitely recommend staying with Louisa and Johan!

This property was awesome to stay at. The cottage overlooks a perfectly manicured lawn, lush garden and idyllic pool. The location is extremely convenient with Melrose Arch being within a very brief walk. The area has plenty of restaurants, more than enough for a week of dinning experiences. Debbie and Neil were wonderful hosts. I will be recommending this property in the future to friends who are planning to visit Johannesburg, especially if they’re looking to stay in this part of the city.

The stay was nothing short of amazing. It really was so hard to leave because of the peace of mind you get there. Not only was the place itself really beautiful but our host, Zander was so friendly and helpful, making you feel at home.

She is not a super host for nothing..lady knows the game and is best at it she had other engagements but never dropped the ball ,had a stand in who was also good 👍

Our stay at Pauline's place was fantastic. Pauline was really helpful even before we arrived and was there to meet us and help us settle in when we got there. She is welcoming and helpful and also careful to give space in her wonderful place. The place is cozy and there is really great attention to detail from breakfast each day to fans, books and games. The pool is beautiful in amongst the trees, very peaceful and the beach is an easy private walk away. Location is great - near the centre of things with easy access to everything, but is nestled in the trees so extremely peaceful. A really wonderful stay with an excellent host!

The unit is far from main house, location is on the right side of neighbourhood close to highway away from river, property has power back up, and very friendly hosts who want to go above and beyond to ensure a good stay. I had a late check in and the host had no issues. There is internet and a desk to work in the evening. I would come back.

The place was a beauty. Very safe Pretoria block so the location was great. The apartment is as good as it looks like and a little bit more! If in Pretoria and looking for safety, a clean and beautiful, peaceful place, definitely in the list!
