Guesthouse vacation rentals in Douro River

We had a great stay in the "Casa da Mata". Lost in the heart of the winery and on the edge of the forest, this house full of old-fashioned charm, well renovated and comfortable, is perfect. Every room has a beautiful view! But the best view is from the terrace where we had all our meals. We also loved our interaction with Fernanda, the best host you could hope for. And his kitchen is a delight! Fernanda feasted us with good garden products, fig tomatoes & eggs.. And very good bread, brought every morning!!! We can only thank her again for her kindness. We will keep in mind this beautiful week perched on the heights of the Douro for a long time. I forgot: the pool and common areas also added a nice plus value to this week.

The accommodation is exactly as described in the listing and can be seen in the photos. It is a cabin and has the comforts of a cabin, but for our stay it covered the needs perfectly. The family is very friendly and discreet at the same time, which is to be appreciated. In 10-15 minutes walking you find all the services (supermarkets, pharmacies, etc...) and the bus stop that takes you to Madrid and the surroundings is on your doorstep. We were left wanting to try the pool and the BBQ, but the weather did not accompany us. Recommended accommodation to spend a few quiet days and take good walks in the Madrid sierra.

This is a lovely place to spend time with family, disconnect and recharge. our daughters loved the space outdoors and playground. Manuela was an excellent host. Recommended.

Armando and his partner was extremely friendly and kind from day one . We were welcome into the studio, and the place had everything we needed to make our stay perfect . Little kitchen ideal for meals , comfortable bed and a clean bathroom . The Vila itself is a great place for resting . Delicious pool, pristine green gardens with a very nice barbecue . Armando always made us feel at home and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay . Totally recommend , if you are looking for a relaxing time off , and definitely will come back . Obrigado Sr. Armando !

The hosts were very responsive and attentive. We ended up arriving late but they were very kind about it, showed us inside and even helped us find parking. The home is private, cozy, and clean. We only spent one night but it was definitely a good find and good value.

Fernandes was very nice and helpful. The location is excellent and especially beautiful. I felt very comfortable For the price, I found the small apartment unfortunately a bit run-down (doors did not close properly and were slightly defective). The apartment was really very cold in April and it was slightly drafty,

I and my daughters feel like we are in the home of Families but of those who care. From the first minute to the last second, indiscreet. You really have to go la because they are people that I thought no longer existed. They are always concerned about others, they make us feel at home rather than on an airbnb. I've been doing it for many years but I've never experienced anything like it. D. Madalen is like a mother to Guests and Mr. Osvaldo Like a Father, A friend. We are eternally grateful and we will return for sure. Believe that what you can write is really little. Carla is also 5*. If you can do this, don't miss out. Our stay at Male’s airbnb was peaceful, and it was located in a private neighborhood. The walk to the metro was approx. 20 minutes but the roads and surrounding area were very calm and safely walkable. We felt right at home in the shared garden area and the mascotas were so friendly and do not bother you at all. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for something outside of the bustling city area of central Madrid. Male and her family were accommodating, welcoming and hospitable. Thank you Male!

Arantza's place is one last! Super nicely decorated and very cuddly. It also gives you great recommendations: from where to eat to what typical cheeses in the area to buy. The location is perfect for hiking as there are many routes that can be done without taking the car. I'm sure we'll repeat!

Great stay! The location of this accommodation is ideal, close to everything: restaurants, shops, public transport and main attractions. It was a real pleasure to be able to do anything on foot! The apartment was very comfortable, clean and well-equipped. I would highly recommend this place for those looking for convenient and pleasant accommodation. Karen's place is simply magical. The isolation, tranquility and beauty around us were very nice. Karen and the family were very friendly and helpful with everything we needed. We were not fully prepared for the challenging trip back home, but the distance and the trip was worth the experience and fun. ¡Thank you!

Very nice and well-kept place to spend a few days with the family. It has all the amenities to have a great time, swimming pool, barbecue, sun loungers, Wi-Fi, garden, cleaning, views of the vineyards and mountains, quiet, a convenience store 50 meters away, a restaurant less than 500 meters away. We were a family with two children and a dog. Rosa took care of us whenever we needed it. She lives on the same plot but you practically don't see her, unless you need her. On the same plot she has a small garden and she had a nice touch by giving us some "tirabeques" that were very good! You have several places to visit 30 minutes or less away, such as Viana do Castelo, Ponte de Lima, Braga, and Porto 1 hour away. Overall, it's a 100% recommended place. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Rosa again!

Elena and Nacho were friendly and welcoming. The room was cozy and practical. I really loved it from the moment I stepped in and was sad to leave.

Charming place, but Armando is even more so. Such a friendly and warm gentleman. We attended Easter Mass and sat with him. Incredibly gracious. Introduced to his neighbors and family. The place itself is perfect for multiple adult travelers as a group. Nice spot to lounge in the living room. Bedrooms are quiet and beds comfortable. Bring your own hairdryer and coffee if that’s your thing.

We lived a few days in a real haven of peace. Past the aspects, let's say amazing, of the path to the accommodation, we were charmed by the hospitality of our hosts, Lise and Patrick. The dogs are very affectionate and quiet. The horses are not left out either (and a little pranky). The totally free access to green spaces, the pool, the barbecue area is an undeniable plus. Lovers of nature and peace, look no further for your place. In addition, housed in this natural environment, you will have plenty of time to explore the surrounding nature, on foot or by car. We had a nice stay at La Quinta. We'll be able to come back someday ...

The place was very very cute and functionally decorated. Everything worked flawlessly and clean. The contact was very kind. Particularly noteworthy was the comfortable bed. We have never slept as well on a vacation as in this one! :-)

We had 5 days in Porto and Sara’s place was fabulous. Sara was so welcoming and friendly. Her place was so quiet and private. We had a wonderful stay.

We were at home, everything was very easy, for my children (3) my husband and I was excellent in every aspect, if we return to Madrid I would not hesitate to contact Luis and Sofía again
