Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Douro River

Confortable, large room in a charming, old house. The shared kitchen and dining room has all you need. We had bad luck with the weather, but nevertheless we found Vivar a nice place full of references to El Cid.

The host was great, impeccable service in general. Truly a good place to stay.

Sara and Hugo were great hosts. Always responded to questions or needs in a short time. The place is homey and comfortable. Even though it's in a busy area, the windows are sound proof so it's very quiet. Beds are comfortable.

It is a Lovely place in the middle of nowhere (that nowhere you have to take literally), great views on the mountains. The hosts were very caring and with a lot of knowledge of what to see or visite. Great place to really relax.

The property is very lovingly and practically furnished. The room is optimally used, so the four of us got along very well for a week. If we had a question or needed help, Constança responded within a very short time and always helped us. I particularly liked the nearby location to the beautiful park and that the sea was within 20 minutes walking distance.

Amazing 400 year old home, has always been in the family. The outside garden and pool are beautiful and peaceful. Small town near by with good quaint restaurants . About one hour from Douro Valley by a beautiful drive through back country roads. Highly recommend it

The house is located on the outskirts of Guimaraes, in a very quiet area, just 10 minutes from the historic center. The owners of the house are very attentive and the breakfast (for which you have to pay additionally) is worth it. In addition, highlighting kindness and close treatment. 100% recommended.

Our stay at Quinta Dos Carqueijais was a perfect 10/10! We chose the Villa das Oliveiras, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surroundings. It truly feels like you're immersed in the forest with beautiful views of the lake. The entire property is seamlessly integrated with nature, creating an idyllic setting for complete disconnection. The accommodation itself is stunning, perfectly equipped, and incredibly comfortable—far better than what you might expect from the photos. The breakfast is plentiful, with great attention to detail. Additionally, we had the chance to enjoy the spa facilities, which include a jacuzzi, sauna, massages, and a heated indoor pool, all at a very competitive rate. Quinta Dos Carqueijais is the perfect place to unwind for a weekend getaway or to celebrate a special occasion near the Peneda-Gerês National Park

Clean, well organized. You get a lot for the money! Bus nearby as is a cafe and bar.

We loved our stay with our two children at Molino. Gorgeous river and surroundings with a perfect place to stay. Quirky touches which were enjoyed by all. Thank you!

Stay to disconnect and be close to nature. Room 5 is true to the photos, beautiful, super well decorated and charming. We slept phenomenally. Everything is taken care of. A lot of peace of mind that was what we were looking for. The beautiful garden super well kept. 100% recommended.

A ridiculously beautiful guesthouse with amazing hosts. Every detail is thought of, it is fresh in its design and the care the hosts have put into their guesthouse is shown even more through the breakfast table they lay out for you. In Coimbra there is a lot of walking/exploring to do nearby, and great restaurants to eat in so it was great to get back to Vila Julieta, rest up and feel cared for. And the shower! Hot and strong. Amazing.

Spectacular house. Spacious and spacious. Perfect for a group of people. There is intimacy due to the individuality of their rooms with bathrooms. The house is super well decorated and clean.. Fully equipped. Tiago is a great host and worth knowing. He treated us excellently . Very friendly. I'm sure we'll repeat if we have the chance.

Staying at Quinta Catrinandes is simply lovely. Helena has crafted a truly comfortable space for one person or a group. In addition to your room, you have access to several generous and well-appointed spaces downstairs, including a full kitchen and dining room, library, large living room, and sun porch. A fully-equipped yoga studio is in the adjacent building. The property is quiet and nicely maintained. Take note of the very special olive trees. Very comfortable mattress, impeccably clean rooms, delicious breakfast.

There are very few places that can live up to the moniker of a truly special location. It take a rare blend of a thoughtful beautiful space, impeccable service, and genuine/ super friendly hosts. My only regret about writing this review is that I am sure once people discover this gem I will find it very difficult to find an available opening again as it is sure to be in high demand. Enrico and his entire family are the perfect hosts, the included simple breakfast of fresh bread, yogurt, fruit and assorted cheese is such a nice treat to wake up to every morning and partake in their amazing Dining Room. I can't recommend highly enough trying their tasting dinner in the evening, as Enrico apparently is a 1 start rated Michelin Chef and the food is amazing. Even if you don't book a room to stay in you should go to the restaurant one evening if you are in Porto. My room was spotless, very comfortable and beautifully laid out. Super Comfortable Bed as well. This place is special.
