Confortable, large room in a charming, old house. The shared kitchen and dining room has all you need. We had bad luck with the weather, but nevertheless we found Vivar a nice place full of references to El Cid.

Sara and Hugo were great hosts. Always responded to questions or needs in a short time. The place is homey and comfortable. Even though it's in a busy area, the windows are sound proof so it's very quiet. Beds are comfortable.

Sehr freundlicher und liebevoller Empfang. Caroline hat mich sogar mit einem Abendessen empfangen, was ich so nicht erwartet habe. Die Umgebung ist einzigartig.....Caroline und Gregory kümmerten sich fürsorglich um um mich....Vielen Dank für die wunderbaren Gespräche! Der Ausblick auf die Berge ist einzigartig. Die Unterkunft ist sehr liebevoll und praktisch eingerichtet. Der Raum ist optimal genutzt, so dass wir auch zu viert eine Woche lang sehr gut zurecht kamen. Wenn wir eine Frage hatten oder Hilfe benötigten, hat Constança innerhalb sehr kurzer Zeit reagiert und uns immer weitergeholfen. Besonders gut hat mir die nahe Lage zu dem wunderschönen Park gefallen und dass das Meer fußläufig in 20 Minuten erreichbar war.

Amazing 400 year old home, has always been in the family. The outside garden and pool are beautiful and peaceful. Small town near by with good quaint restaurants . About one hour from Douro Valley by a beautiful drive through back country roads. Highly recommend it

La casa se encuentra a las afueras de Guimaraes, en una zona muy tranquila, apenas a 10 minutos del centro histórico. Los dueños de la casa son muy atentos y el desayuno (por el que hay que pagar adicionalmente) merece la pena. Además destacar la amabilidad y el trato cercano. 100% recomendable.

Our stay at Quinta Dos Carqueijais was a perfect 10/10! We chose the Villa das Oliveiras, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surroundings. It truly feels like you're immersed in the forest with beautiful views of the lake. The entire property is seamlessly integrated with nature, creating an idyllic setting for complete disconnection. The accommodation itself is stunning, perfectly equipped, and incredibly comfortable—far better than what you might expect from the photos. The breakfast is plentiful, with great attention to detail. Additionally, we had the chance to enjoy the spa facilities, which include a jacuzzi, sauna, massages, and a heated indoor pool, all at a very competitive rate. Quinta Dos Carqueijais is the perfect place to unwind for a weekend getaway or to celebrate a special occasion near the Peneda-Gerês National Park

Nice place for a stop. Carlos is very nice and helpful. It has everything that is needed: private bathroom, fan in the room, full kitchen, parking.

Hôte très accueillante qui s’est adapté à notre langue (français) et nous l’en remercions. Logement très agréable et décoré avec soin (décorations typiques et personnelles). Le coin petit déjeuner très sympa et intimiste est un plus 🙂

Luis Alberto estuvo muy atento en todo momento, desde antes de la llegada hasta después. La habitación era tal cual la descripción y todo correcto, además disponía de desayuno. Por poner un pero el ruido de las palomas en la ventana.

Estancia para desconectar y estar cerca de la naturaleza. La habitación 5 es fiel a las fotos, preciosa, super bien decorada y con encanto. Hemos dormido fenomenal. Está todo cuidado al detalle. Mucha tranquilidad que era lo que buscábamos. El jardín precioso super bien cuidado. 100% Recomendable.

A ridiculously beautiful guesthouse with amazing hosts. Every detail is thought of, it is fresh in its design and the care the hosts have put into their guesthouse is shown even more through the breakfast table they lay out for you. In Coimbra there is a lot of walking/exploring to do nearby, and great restaurants to eat in so it was great to get back to Vila Julieta, rest up and feel cared for. And the shower! Hot and strong. Amazing.

Casa espectacular. Amplia y espaciosa. Perfecta para un grupo de personas. Hay intimidad debido a la individualidad de sus habitaciones con baño. La casa super bien decorada y limpia.. Totalmente equipada. Tiago es un gran anfitrión y merece la pena conocerlo. Nos ha tratado excelentemente . Muy amable. Seguro que repetiremos si tenemos la ocasión.

Staying at Quinta Catrinandes is simply lovely. Helena has crafted a truly comfortable space for one person or a group. In addition to your room, you have access to several generous and well-appointed spaces downstairs, including a full kitchen and dining room, library, large living room, and sun porch. A fully-equipped yoga studio is in the adjacent building. The property is quiet and nicely maintained. Take note of the very special olive trees. Very comfortable mattress, impeccably clean rooms, delicious breakfast.

There are very few places that can live up to the moniker of a truly special location. It take a rare blend of a thoughtful beautiful space, impeccable service, and genuine/ super friendly hosts. My only regret about writing this review is that I am sure once people discover this gem I will find it very difficult to find an available opening again as it is sure to be in high demand. Enrico and his entire family are the perfect hosts, the included simple breakfast of fresh bread, yogurt, fruit and assorted cheese is such a nice treat to wake up to every morning and partake in their amazing Dining Room. I can't recommend highly enough trying their tasting dinner in the evening, as Enrico apparently is a 1 start rated Michelin Chef and the food is amazing. Even if you don't book a room to stay in you should go to the restaurant one evening if you are in Porto. My room was spotless, very comfortable and beautifully laid out. Super Comfortable Bed as well. This place is special.
