Casa Serena: cozy, modern, spacious and peaceful

LeonelRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Andre is a very good host!! And very kind and friendly. The property is very nice and is just as shown in the photos!! I feel at home! Andres was very helpful with his restaurant and supermarket guide, with clear instructions. My children and wife loved the property. One of the best Airbnbs I have stayed in in the capital. When I visit Santo Domingo again, I will return to Andres' property!! I recommend it 100% to everyone!! Thank you Andres for everything!!

Bali a Las Terrenas next to the fishermen's village

NathanaelleRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This place was simply beautiful. A change of scenery while already traveling! Very cute little house, ideally arranged with mosquito nets, very pleasant to stay in. In addition it is very well located, 50 m from the beach and close to restaurants and bars. François was very welcoming and accommodating, very attentive. If I come back to Las Terrenas, I'll probably call on him again!

Townhouse by the Lake

BrittneyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This home was just like the pictures. Comfortable, beautiful and had everything you could need away from home. The extra games and pool toys were a huge bonus due to traveling with my 1 and 4 yr old. There were enough towels and linens. The washer and dryer made coming home with clean clothes a plus! The pool and amenities were great. This is a perfect home for a family! One con was trying to locate the home. The streets do not have names and even security was a little stumped on how to locate the exact unit. Getting to the location was a breeze, but finding the correct unit once there was a bit tricky. However, the host was responsive, and guided us to the home. There were small mini markets close by but we went to La Romana ( a city about 30 minutes away) to go to Jumbo ( similar to a small Walmart) to get our food and essentials since we were visiting family there anyway. Overall great stay and we will be back!! You will need a car to get around but beaches and activities are close!

Modern 3 bedroom villa with roof terrace and Pool

OrlandoRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Alexander is very friendly and a fantastic host. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely visit again. The home was perfect for our family of four. It was very clean and close to the local public beach and within walking distance to Santa Fe, which is a great place to visit as well. The restaurant, Maria’s, is just a short walk away and very delicious.

Francisco was the absolute best host. He was incredibly accommodating with any questions or requests we had but just went above and beyond with recommendations and coordinating things in Sosua. Perfectly Located Ocean Front Condo In Down Town

BrianRating, 5 stars13 months ago
Yojaira Y Thomas are excellent & responsive hosts that did a wonderful job of making my stay great ! This was the best air bnb I have ever stayed at in 10 years ! Astonishing views situated perfectly inbetween playa Sosua & playa alicia It was just like the pictures. OCEAN VIEWS FOR AS FAR AS YOU CAN SEE! Close enough to town to feel the energy and far enough away for privacy, sleep without moto traffic and music all night …. I may have been the worst problem there. lol. To keep it real and manage expectations please understand that nothing is perfect except the views on most the north coast of DR! These are older buildings with small problems. After quite a few places I fled AWAY from this one was as “perfect” as it gets. I don’t get bothered by little things anymore but have learned to appreciate the important ones that are taken care of! Newer A/C units in both beds, laundry, working stove, Drinkable water, PLENTY OF TOWELS♥️ & CLEAN—- THANKS GUYS. SEE YOU SOON.

Samana by the Sea Villa

ChrisRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We spent two wonderful weeks at Casa Pauli. The house is grand, tasteful and spotless. The 1km walk to the spectacular beach was a daily treat (really) with beautiful landscaping throughout Residence Esperanza (and other breathtaking properties to gawk at). We loved Chef Luis’ delicious dinners (cheaper than eating out!). This is a tastefully decorated and expansive Villa, with lots of comfortable spots to sit, relax and enjoy the view. We all loved our stay. And, we took a particular shine to Nanci, our very hard-working, diligent and charming caretaker. Nanci made our holiday extra special. We hope to return. Thanks to all.

Caribbean Villa - Ocean Front

AnjaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Excellent accommodation, perfect service by Stefano, who always answered our questions promptly. Nice to know, but not intended as a criticism of the accommodation: - There are dogs in the neighboring apartment who share the same garden as the guests. - During our stay there were relatively many mosquitoes.

Classic Caribbean 5BR villa in Sea Horse Ranch

RaquelRating, 5 stars1 week ago
My family loved this house and had an excellent time staying here. The house itself was immaculate and tastefully decorated with attention to detail. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay, from the spacious and cozy living areas to the well appointed bedrooms. The outdoor spaces, garden, stunning views, and the pool provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation and fun. The home’s location allowed us to easily explore the beautiful beaches and natural wonders in the area. Sue and Steve, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. I can’t recommend this vacation home enough.

N1-Your Beach Escape: Rent & Relax!

PattyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME! LOCATION, LOCATION! If you're looking for a resort vibe, without the inclusive pricing, you have found it! SO convenient to everything from grocery, to restaurants, live music AND a beautiful beach club with the ability to WALK everywhere within minutes (some even SECONDS)! You can walk endlessly on the beach in either direction along that turquoise water! It was quiet enough to relax on the front porch OR take a 5 second walk and listen to live music. The uber from the airport was a BREEZE, no car was needed for anything! Darleny was amazing and helped us with suggestions and regular communication! It was an added bonus to have some kitchen basics provided (coffee, cooking oil, salt, pepper) We travel frequently and this was one of our favorite AIRBNB's for it's overall convenience and checking the box of a resort feel without the crowd, price and a whole lot more space than only a hotel room! BOOK IT!

As always, we loved our stay at Nancy's place. It's so convenient, it's clean, it's quiet, and there's plenty of space. This is our first choice every time we go back to visit Cocotal. And, Nancy is very good at communicating with us each time. Once we arrive, Johnny and Rita are waiting for us and if we need anything at all during our stay, or have a question, they are always available. We highly recommend this property!

Well, it’s all about the host! Frederique was a delight! She made our stay so pleasant, starting at our check in we were greeted by her happy dogs, Pasha (tribe leader) and Puppet (doll), they were our companions and came with us everywhere. Amazing and loving creatures. Frederique well said that they will not leave our site and will be attached to us as they would have known us for years. Frederique started our days with an amazing breakfast, with local baguette, fresh fruit and strong Dominican coffee. Amazing way to start the day, then she helped us with local key directions to beaches, towns and the know-how of a local. We loved every single tip she shared with us. Thank you Frederique! We loved our stay and would love to come back. Cheers!

Your guide to Dominican Republic

All About Dominican Republic

Surrounded by turquoise waters, the island nation of the Dominican Republic contains lush rainforests, some of the highest mountain peaks in the Caribbean, and picturesque historic cities. The country, which occupies two-thirds of the island of Hispaniola (the other third belongs to Haiti), is lapped by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean to the north and the Caribbean Sea to the south, and its beautiful beaches are one of the biggest draws here.

Along Punta Cana’s coconut palm-lined shores — one of the longest white sand coastlines in the Caribbean — you’ll find a recreated 16th-century Mediterranean city and a natural reserve filled with shady, blue-green lagoons. At Cabarete Beach in Puerto Plata, you can try your hand at kitesurfing or windsurfing among some of the best waves on the island. Or explore the protected natural paradise of Bahia de las Aguilas, where the shallow crystalline waters lap the pure white sand against sheer, rugged cliff faces inside the Jaragua National Park, which is a protected UNESCO World Heritage site. The capital, Santo Domingo, was the first European-built city in the Americas. Here, you can browse the Museum of Natural History and the Memorial Museum of the Dominican Resistance, which commemorates those who resisted against Dominican dictator Trujillo, as well as the Calle El Conde, a pedestrian street lined with restored colonial buildings that now house restaurants, cafes, and shops.

One of the best ways to experience the country’s culture is through its food. The national dish is La Bandera Dominicana, which is rice and beans with stewed chicken, and is found in comedores (local restaurants) all over the country. Mangú, mashed green plantains with sautéed red onions, is a favorite for breakfast.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic benefits from a warm Caribbean climate year-round, so any time is a great time to enjoy a stay at one of the many vacation rentals around the country. Summer is the warmest and rainiest season, with humidity at its highest from April to October. You can expect very warm days, and the chance of short, intense rainstorms. Festival de Merengue is the biggest summer festival here, which celebrates the country’s national music. December through March are the coolest months, but you can still expect plenty of daytime sunshine for enjoying the beach. In mountainous areas, temperatures can be quite cold, so if you’re visiting places like Jarabacoa and Constanza make sure you bring layers. In February, Carnival takes over the Dominican Republic, and San Domingo hosts the country’s liveliest celebrations with a street party every Sunday.

Top things to do in Dominican Republic

Zona Colonial (Colonial City)

Zona Colonial, originally founded in 1496, is in Santo Domingo and was the first city built by Spaniards when they arrived. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage site for being one of the most beautiful cities in the Caribbean, Zona Colonial comprises three beautiful cobblestoned streets surrounded by a walled perimeter. Buildings from the 16th century are still standing and can be explored, including the first fortress of the Americas, the country’s first cathedral, and its first university. When you’re done with a self-guided tour here, stroll along Calle El Conde, which is lined with shops and outdoor restaurants.

Jarabacoa

Head to the foot of the Dominican Alps to the mountain town of Jarabacoa, where you’ll find lush forests and a series of beautiful waterfalls. From the town, you can drive to individual falls, or you could do a full day hike to three of the most beautiful ones — Jimenoa Waterfall, Baiguate Waterfall, and Salto Secreto Waterfall. All offer spectacular scenery, and the chance for a refreshing swim.

Hoyo Azul (The Blue Hole)

Just outside Punta Cana, you’ll find the spectacular Hoyo Azul Lagoon, also known as the Blue Hole. This natural pool is a sinkhole located at the base of a cliff with the most amazing crystal-clear blue waters. To get there, you’ll need to walk for about 30 minutes through a tropical forest, and then take stairs down into a cave. You can swim in the lagoon and even zipline across it.
