Think: a thatched roof, mud walls, tall coconut pillars. Two bedrooms flank the living space and open concept kitchen. Each bedroom is fitted with a king sized bed and ensuite bathroom. The open air rain-shower is an experience in itself, especially at dusk with the brilliant sunset, swaying coconut trees and cool running water after a hot day.

We stayed 2 nights at Casa MiJa, and totally loved every minute of it. Mani, caretaker for the villa was very helpful and made the entire experience worth it. He made sure we were at ease at all times and sorted anything and everything out for us that we needed any assistance with. The villa was amazing, and the location was perfect. Beautiful beach adjacent to it. The only drawback of it was the common areas of the villa do not have air conditioning, so with the weather running quite hot; we couldn’t use it or spend as much time there as we would have liked to. If they can fix that, this would be the best villa to stay at in the area. Everything else was amazing. Would definitely want to stay here again when I’m back in Mirissa, Sri Lanka.

They arranged transport to the house and again when we left. Their hospitality was warm and made us feel welcome. We would definitly recommend this place to others.

Salt Villa was exactly as described. Couldn’t be closer to the beach with its own private entrance, you literally have the beach to yourself most of the time!! There was some feedback in previous reviews about traffic noise from the main road but to be honest the sound of the waves just blocks this out and it didn’t disturb us at all. The villa itself is in great condition, beds were super comfy and it was by far the best sleep any of us had during our trip in Sri Lanka. Lastly the staff, led by Sandy could not be more accommodating. Always there to help no matter how big or small and just added to the experience of staying here. Julius himself is a fantastic host who responds quickly to any questions and was very flexible with us during our particular stay. We will 100% be back to stay here again!

We vacationed as a family of five in a cottage on Kabalana Beach. The location was superb—only ten meters from the beach—and featured a charming garden that stayed cool in the shade even on sunny days. Although the cottage was simple, it provided everything necessary for a comfortable stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. A special mention must go to the outstanding manager and chef, Susil. His warm and unobtrusive manner, coupled with genuine care for our children, made our visit both unforgettable and exceptionally comfortable. Every day, he prepared delicious meals with love and resolved any issues with ease. Owner Amit was also very responsive, ensuring a smooth check-in process and continuous assistance. The only minor drawbacks were the nearby road and the somewhat dark interior, but these were easily outweighed by the prime location and Susil’s remarkable hospitality. Our children still fondly remember their time there and eagerly await a return visit. Thank Susil 🤗🥰

This place is so beautiful! In the jungle, peaceful, lovely dogs around, sounds of nature, no traffic! Rooms are big and spacious! It’s two floors with each a bathroom, bedroom and kitchen. We only used one floor, downstairs! Orcheedas Mum lives next door, she speaks no English which is absolutely fine - we always found our way doing laundry together or whatever we needed! I really recommend this place ☺️

Asela is a great host!!! Very hospitable and friendly, always ready to help with all issues. We lived in the villa for a whole month. The house is always very clean, cleaning every few days. Convenient location of the house, just 10 minutes by tuktuk to the sea and all the establishments. We are very happy that we ended up here I highly recommend this villa, secluded accommodation surrounded by birds and beautiful nature Also really liked Asela's restaurant, one of the best we have visited! Great place. Right on the beach with a gate that provides complete privacy. Even with the direct proximity to the beach you feel safe and the entire resort has a great chill vibe about it. The waves are great for fun, body and surf boarding and as our close friends said “they just keep coming, it’s relentless fun” and the cool pool has a perfect temperature to plunge into after the sea. Lots of little cafes, bars, restaurants, surf schools and shops all outside the front door. The supermarket is a 10-15 minute walk or a short tuk tuk ride, selection isn’t that good and was about the only negative side of what was a very successful and relaxing week for Mums and Dads, whilst the teenagers were kept happy with the sea, pool and of course, a bit of internet time!! Lastly, the house team were always helpful and obliging to assist and guide. Thank you to them and the evening guard who keeps you safe after a hard day in the sun. We will be back…..

Amazing house with even prettier garden! You have a place for yourself, away from the street but close enough to the supermarket (2 mins) and the beach (1,2 km). The place is calm, private, you can really enjoy your stay in peace and calm. For this amazing price I don't think we could find a better place to stay!

Such a secluded and peaceful location. The rooms are huge and the pool is great. It's a perfect place to switch off and enjoy nature - we saw monkeys, chipmunks, and no end of birds, including a huge eagle that would perch in the tree above the garden. Malan and his wife looked after us well (but were never overbearing) and Malan was always on hand to run us to the beach or shops in his tuktuk. Thanks also to Andrew who was very quick to respond to any queries. This is a hidden gem at a great price.
