We’ve just spent the most wonderful weekend at the beautiful Rock Cottage. Rebecca has put so much thought into creating a cosy, relaxing space, with a lovely blend of rustic-style decor and high-spec features throughout. This thoughtfulness was also evident from the moment we checked in and saw that Rebecca had prepared a birthday greetings garland along with birthday wishes and welcoming gifts, which was so generous. We were also blessed with good weather, which meant that we could enjoy the gorgeous, spacious garden and summer house, an absolute delight on both evenings. With fab walking trails nearby as well, it’s simply the perfect base to lose yourself in nature and unwind.

Idyllic stay in the beautiful Peak District. Lyndas special cottage was a treat, beautiful and cosy, with soft colored walls and tasteful fabrics , personal antiques, little touches in every corner. A good little kitchen, very comfortable bed and linens everything we needed and then some. Located Just outside friendly and vibrant Matlock. Wonderful walks from the property and a perfect place to explore the whole area. Lynda is a talented interior designer and it was a treat to get to stay in her delightful cottage. My dog was also welcome and loved the garden space that was ours. Lynda was very helpful and knowledgeable about places to visit with her love of the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we hope to be back.

Lovely cosy spot, nice outside patio to sit with a chilled drink. Good place to explore from lots of footpaths and a short walk along the river to village of Ashover. Few pubs and village shop. Peak District has so much to offer, there’s even an open top bus tour through Chatsworth and Bakewell and surrounding villages.. ooo don’t forget to get a Bakewell Pudding we could only squeeze 4 in the car, but don’t worry they do mail order if you forget 😀 PS Bakewell is best on a Monday as its market day 😀

Absolutely lovely cottage in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Me, my partner and her 2 girls had spent the day in Matlock Bath and wanted to make it an overnight stay. The cottage was perfect. The inside of the cottage was lovely and cosy with a real period feel (including a log fire which made it even cosier!) and really suited the feel of the surrounding area, but still had the modern essentials needed. The very large and very comfortable bed in the front room made me want to stay in bed longer than I could. I wish we could have stayed a lot longer, but unfortunately we needed to get back to reality. We love the Peak District and will definitely book again when up this way.

We had a great stay, as it was clean, well stocked in the kitchen and bathroom, convenient to get around, smartly decorated. It is close to Matlock Bath and Matlock centre and had plenty of things to do around it. There was lots of dog friendly walks nearby. We would certainly recommend Cotton House as a great place to stay.
