A most nourishing experience, with the unfurling vast and varied mountainous landscape, to the silky smooth nutrient rich natural pool to immerse yourself in whilst watching the sun setting, followed by the outdoor fire to delve into conversations or simply star gaze, and then delight in the colourful display and immense flavours of the organic vegetables and fruit. The cottage appears to have been formed out of, and perfectly integrated with the natural surroundings. It offers all the comforts as well as quietude felt through its practical and creative simplicity. You feel completely at ease and peaceful here, as well as childlike wonder through the experience. The outdoor seating, hammock and pool invite you to fully relax and enjoy the expansive surroundings. The birds gift a morning symphony on sunrise and it’s wonderful to look upon and explore the orchids. I was welcomed to further enjoy the studio, offering a perfect space for a yoga and meditation practice. Immense Gratitude

This is the second time we have stayed at Joel's Cabin. And we will be back for a third. It an absolute gem, the best kept secret in the western cape. But everyone should experience the serenity this space has to offer.

We had a fantastic stay at Leanne’s place. The house is beautiful & so peaceful. We saw springbok, zebra, waterbuck and giraffe on the way in & from the veranda of the house within minutes of our arrival, The wood fired hot tub is a real highlight & we loved soaking in it whilst admiring the views and relaxing. The house is very stylishly decorated, extremely spacious & has all amenities. Recommend a drive to Meiringspoort pass & walk to waterfall, jump into pool at the base & have a swim. It’s just 20 mins from the house. De Rust is also only about 10 mins away with a shop & restaurant if needed & of course not far from Outdshoorn, ostrich farms & Cango Caves & wildlife ranch. Leanne was quick to respond to any queries & very helpful. Highly recommend a stay at Leanne’s.
