Lindsey’s place was conveniently located to all of the attractions we planned to visit - Mt. Rushmore, Jewel Cave, and Custer State Park! Use of the Custer State Park pass was a really nice bonus! We enjoyed the upgraded kitchen and bathroom fixtures! Thanks for a great stay!

Cozy Cottage close to Custer State Park!

TanvaRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Our stay was absolutely perfect. We were there for the 2024 Buffalo Roundup and this place was just minutes away from the entrance we used! The cottage was very clean and accommodating! Jana and Paul were very responsive and cared about our thoughts on the place. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to our friends and family!

Camp Cottonwood: Nostalgic Summer Camp Vibes

KirstinRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Our family of four loved our visit to Custer and Camp Cottonwood (I’m so glad we picked it over Keystone and Hill City)! The space and layout combined with the outdoors was perfect for relaxing as well as family time. The weather was sunny, the temp was 60s, and leaves had just peaked but were still beautiful. All main attractions were within 30 minutes (consider booking Jewel Cave and Cosmos ahead of your visit if you go to either). Main Street is a five minute walk. We especially enjoyed the small, organic grocery store and foodie restaurant Skogen Kitchen! Marci and Clay had it all buttoned up - both organized and friendly.
A spacious living area features comfortable leather seating, a wooden dining table, and rustic decor that reflects the Black Hills theme. A ceiling fan is positioned above, and a wood-burning stove adds to the warm atmosphere. The flooring is wood and patterned rugs enhance the decor.

The Roost in the Peaceful Pines. Welcome!

VitalyRating, 5 stars18 months ago
Beautiful place to stay! Extremely peaceful surroundings. No traffic noise. Remote location. It was fun seeing wild life! Close to Rush Mountain (zip line, roller coaster, cave). Not too far from Mount Rushmore. The bonfire was epic! We had so much family fun on this trip. The kids LOVED the games, and we're going to buy 2 of the ones we played as a family at The Roost! Thanks for a great trip! Everything was as described. Very clean. Would recommend! =)

Dwntwn Custer Farmhouse on Main St. with Hot Tub

JamesRating, 5 stars8 months ago
We really enjoyed or stay at Sarah's Airbnb. Everything you need is within walking distance, which was quite enjoyable. Although, it is on the edge of downtown, we had no issue with road noise, which was nice relative to the location. There is a grocery store across the street, so it was easy to walk over and buy food to prepare in the well equipped kitchen. The Pizza Mill restaurant was also across the street and there pizzas were outstanding. I would highly recommend this impendent and locally owned business. We also walked a block to breakfast one morning and ate at the Our Place restaurant. This locally owned breakfast diner was also a gem and had a wonderful hometown atmosphere. Further down the main street were several other shops and places to eat. The only negative issue with Sarah's pace was the narrow, steep, and winding stairwell to the second floor. None of our group over 50 felt comfortable staying upstairs. All and all a good stay.

Custer Gem

RachelRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Our family had a great time staying at this house in Custer! The House was very spacious with fully stocked kitchen- pots, pans, utensils, appliances. There were many things to do including arcade, ski ball, a combined air hockey, ping pong and billiards table, hot tub, new Samsung smart TVs in just about every room and rocks to climb just outside the home. Opportunities for seeing wildlife on your way to the home. We saw deer daily. Hot tub and Steam shower were great after a long day of hiking in the Badlands or Custer state park. Would definitely recommend for families or large groups!

Tranquil Trailside 3bed, 2 bath on peaceful 2acre

RobinRating, 5 stars7 months ago
David's home was in a perfect location to explore the area. Custer is 5-10 mins drive away for any essentials and restaurants/shops. Rapid City is only about 45 mins away. All the main attractions are within 20-30 mins away as well. The house was really clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Everything was labelled which made it easy. David is also a proactive communicator and if we needed anything, I think he would have addressed it right away. All in all, we couldn't have asked for anything more. We had a great time staying at the house and would definitely book it again when back in the area.

Ponderosa Cabin | Blue Bell Lodge

ShannonRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We did a family reunion with about 16 adults and a couple of infants and we had a great experience! There was enough space for everyone without being too cramped and with so much to go see within a reasonable distance, we all stayed so busy adventuring during the day and playing games, doing puzzles and having camp fires in the back at night. We ate at the restaurant for a lunch one day in a small group and it was good and would have been able to facilitate all of us at once had we done that. Our 2.5 year old was able to ride the horses at the stables which was a blast and the little store had some basic necessities for our time there that saved us the 20 minute drive to the store in Custer. I would definitely visit here again and recommend it for a large get together.

Secluded Black Hills Studio Cabin Near Crazy Horse

MollyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
2nd time was even better! We booked the property again within 6 months because we loved it so much our 1st stay. Don and Terri seem like friends, although we have not met. Their communication is always upbeat, positive and professional. They genuinely want you to enjoy your stay. They will get in touch with you if you need something but they like to leave you free to enjoy your time. The property location is, in our opinion, the best in the Hills. Every attraction is an easy, beautiful drive. Down Town Custer is a 10 minute drive and Hill City is about 20 minutes. Both towns have grocery stores and a good selection of places to eat. The back roads and trails are beautiful and easily traveled. We like to off road and you can find some off the beaten path areas to traverse if you have a capable vehicle. The advanced trails have not been open during the dates we've stayed. They open in the "high season". I'll run out of space here because there is so much more to say. We love this place!

Rose Bud Cabin

MarianRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We stayed in the Rose Bud cabin for three nights. It’s a cute cabin in good condition decorated with local flavor and it was very clean. The property is private and gorgeous with a large grassy area and rock formations. It’s obvious Thomas works hard to keep it maintained. The location near Custer State Park and the town of Custer was perfect for us. I highly recommend.

NEW! Buffalo Dreams Cabin at Dakota Dream B&B

ToniRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We just completed our four night stay and it was absolutely wonderful. We were pulling a trailer with two motorcycles so we needed to find a place to stay which could accommodate our trailer. Mackenzie’s place was perfect! It was just a little ways out of town, but so quiet and peaceful. The place was stocked with dishes, microwave, mini fridge, etc - but the fridge was the only thing we used. The bed was comfortable. We opened windows at night and it was really cool and comfortable. Our entire trip was perfect, until five minutes before we were ready to leave this morning at 6a and my boyfriend locked the keys in the car. I would absolutely book Mackenzie’s place again if we return to the area!!
A two-story cabin is viewed from the exterior, featuring a steeply pitched roof and multiple decks that extend from the front. A separate garage is situated nearby, all surrounded by tall trees and a partially snow-covered landscape.

Buffalo Ridge was our final stop on our Yellowstone adventure heading back home. Every place we stayed was unique, but Custer's Buffalo Ridge was our favorite. We will be coming back for sure! This place exceeded all others that we have tried in The Hills over the years.
