Peaceful Cabin

Chris And JenRating, 5 stars34 months ago
Paula and her family are wonderful hosts. They stay in the small home on property and you really don’t even know they are there. Paula shows the best amount hospitality. Stella ,their dog is the sweetest. They keep her on their part of the property. The cabin is one of the cleanest airbnbs I’ve stayed in. Paula keeps a fully supplied kitchen with all you would need, if you like to cook your own meals. There’s a little ‘echo’ for playing your favorite music. Out in the backyard is a great hot tub. Privacy and having a peaceful experience is their M.O. We certainly had a peaceful and private experience. Paula makes great recommendations for anywhere you’d like to go from sight seeing & hiking to meals out. We went to the best coffee place in town on her recommendation and had to go everyday from the first time on. We went everyday for 1 week. It was the Hermosa Coffee house. The owner is super hospitable, she works with her daughters. She makes her own pastry. The maple bacon cinnamon roll is the best! The coffee is superb. Back to the house, the backyard is where we spent mornings reading and nights star gazing. The cabin is also central to lots of great South Dakota highlights, Custer state park, Mount Rushmore, the badlands, keystone, rock hunting, and downtown Custer. We would definitely stay again. We found South Dakota to take pride in being caring for others and hospitable. We loved our vacation. We loved our stay in Paula’s family cabin.

Storm Mountain | Modern Wedge Cabin Black Hills

KatieRating, 5 stars21 months ago
Buffalo Ridge was our final stop on our Yellowstone adventure heading back home. Every place we stayed was unique, but Custer's Buffalo Ridge was our favorite. We will be coming back for sure! This place exceeded all others that we have tried in The Hills over the years.

Cabin in the woods

KellynRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We had a wonderful stay at Cindy and Stoney's cabin. Our pups enjoyed hiking around the area and even got to meet the horses! Lots of wild life in the immediate area and a quick drive to the Wildlife Loop to see bison, burros, prong horns, and prairie dogs. The cabin offered everything that we needed. A one of a kind experience in such a beautiful area. Thank you Cindy, Stoney, and Buddy! Hope to visit again!

Secluded Black Hills Studio Cabin Near Crazy Horse

MollyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
2nd time was even better! We booked the property again within 6 months because we loved it so much our 1st stay. Don and Terri seem like friends, although we have not met. Their communication is always upbeat, positive and professional. They genuinely want you to enjoy your stay. They will get in touch with you if you need something but they like to leave you free to enjoy your time. The property location is, in our opinion, the best in the Hills. Every attraction is an easy, beautiful drive. Down Town Custer is a 10 minute drive and Hill City is about 20 minutes. Both towns have grocery stores and a good selection of places to eat. The back roads and trails are beautiful and easily traveled. We like to off road and you can find some off the beaten path areas to traverse if you have a capable vehicle. The advanced trails have not been open during the dates we've stayed. They open in the "high season". I'll run out of space here because there is so much more to say. We love this place!

NEW! Buffalo Dreams Cabin at Dakota Dream B&B

ToniRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We just completed our four night stay and it was absolutely wonderful. We were pulling a trailer with two motorcycles so we needed to find a place to stay which could accommodate our trailer. Mackenzie’s place was perfect! It was just a little ways out of town, but so quiet and peaceful. The place was stocked with dishes, microwave, mini fridge, etc - but the fridge was the only thing we used. The bed was comfortable. We opened windows at night and it was really cool and comfortable. Our entire trip was perfect, until five minutes before we were ready to leave this morning at 6a and my boyfriend locked the keys in the car. I would absolutely book Mackenzie’s place again if we return to the area!!

Teeny Home in the Black Hills SD, "White Buffalo"

ElizabethRating, 5 stars8 months ago
The teeny house was perfect for me and my husband. It’s a tiny house but it has all the basics covered inside and multiple comfortable sitting areas outside. We enjoyed spending time on the peaceful porch watching wildlife. It’s a quick drive to Custer State Park but out of the hub bub of it all. There’s plenty of privacy even if someone is on the Tiny house up the hill. Tricia was very responsive and a great host.

Flynn Creek Cabin

JoeRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We really liked that our cabin was in walking distance of a national forest ripe for hiking and with scenic trails. The site was clean and there were actually more accommodations than listed; including an on site gift shop with a great sticker collection and free movie rentals and a very convenient outdoor kitchen. The on site park staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend to nature enthusiasts. The nearby town of Custer offered a great food options, and there are a slew of other great parks nearby as well.

Log Cabin - 5 Mins from Custer State Park

Chad EverettRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Marilyn’s place was perfect for us. We were going to the buffalo roundup in Custer State Park and this was quite close. The cabin was just as described, was clean and appropriately stocked, and wonderfully peaceful. There was a separate building with a bathroom for each cabin and it was very clean. Marilyn was so helpful and gave us the local lay of the land with directions to the roundup. The wild turkeys and deer in the courtyard were a perfect bonus as we sat on the porch drinking coffee. Highly recommend!

Elk Haven Vacation Cabins #3

CourtneyRating, 5 stars9 months ago
We had such a great stay! Our group was only here for 2 nights but agreed we wished we could stay so much longer! We will definitely be back. There was plenty of room to sleep, the bathrooms were big, the outside space was amazing, as well as the location. Beth communicated well, and there was a packet of information for anything else we had questions about. Thanks for the great stay!

Rose Bud Cabin

MarianRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We stayed in the Rose Bud cabin for three nights. It’s a cute cabin in good condition decorated with local flavor and it was very clean. The property is private and gorgeous with a large grassy area and rock formations. It’s obvious Thomas works hard to keep it maintained. The location near Custer State Park and the town of Custer was perfect for us. I highly recommend.

#3 Moose Cabin at Ponderosa Place

SusanRating, 5 stars6 months ago
A best bang for the money in the Blackhills. Clean and well located. Just know it’s more like a one bedroom compact apartment than a cabin in the country- I think the photos clearly show that. It was clean and had a kitchen I could work with- better than any local hotel could offer for the price. Bed was comfortable. Towels were large and soft. Quaint place to stay and pleasant to return to at the end of the day.

NEW! Stargazer Convertible A-Frame 1

TimRating, 5 stars8 months ago
What an amazing and unique place! Loved just laying in bed and looking out the giant "window" aka one entire side of the A-frame. Slept with the blinds open every night to enjoy the view of the stars and silhouettes of the trees. On top of the place itself, Mackenzie was a great host and very friendly when we'd see her on the grounds. Absolutely stay here if you get the chance!
