If you have a chance to stay here, do! I can’t say enough good things about this enchanted cottage and garden and the hosts. I stayed two weeks, have been gone one day and miss it already. Pat and Dave were excellent hosts, checked on me without being intrusive, and even gave me a ride to town on the last day to catch my bus. I worked remotely weekdays. The Internet was slower than I’m used to, but perfectly serviceable. I was able to take video calls and get things done. I didn’t have a car, but enjoyed picturesque walks. It was lush and green with a large stream adjacent to the garden. There are two pubs close by, one requires walking through lovely field paths but I wouldn’t want to walk at night alone. I’m sure it’s perfectly safe, just dark! There is a little grocery about a 10 minute walk, but it is up a steep hill. Doesn’t matter, it was just magical.

Couples retreat on Dartmoor with stunning views

AlunRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Cloudstreet is wonderful. From the road, the house is unassuming but as soon as you step inside you realise what a special place it is. Inside is beautiful - spacious, light, comfortable and with beautiful views down into the garden and across the valley. It is clear a lot of love and attention has gone in over the years to developing cloud street as a haven of peace and tranquility. The location is very quiet - I think we heard cars go by 4-5 times in the three days we were there. The bird song is incredible. The house is really well equipped - probably the best we have come across - and it was spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend m!

The Linhay, Lydford, a beautiful Dartmoor retreat

Just got back from our stay at Danielle’s place. So many positives… Beautiful surroundings in such an idyllic location. The property itself was so tastefully decorated and designed and we felt right at home as soon as we walked in. We spent the first 30 minutes or so watching an amazing array of birds from the bedroom window and shortly after that took a hike straight out of the property to take in the wonderful views. We spent the next few days exploring the surrounding area. We didn’t have to go far for breathtaking scenery. If you like walking this is an ideal place. Also nice pubs in the area and a great little farm shop close by. Great to come back to such a nice comfy sofa and a cosy fire after a long day of exploring. Looking forward to a return trip!!! Forgot to mention how clean the property was and how friendly the hosts were!

Apartment in a Victorian town house, Dartmoor

A tranquil. spacious and comfortable haven, only a five minute walk from the centre of town, as long as you don't mind a steep slope. I especially appreciated the efficiency of the central heating when I arrived cold and wet from tramping on the moors. And it was good to have Sara and her husband living on the premises - they came very quickly to solve a problem that was largely of my own making.

Retreat, relax and restore-

The little house with a big heart!! This is a listing put together with care, and importantly, with the guest at heart. The stay offered everything it promises and more, and Beth was a friendly and proactive host. The views are incredible with wild ponies being frequent visitors throughout the day. We had an amazing stay and will certainly look to return. Highly recommended for the super-comfy bed (and stay), breathtaking views, location and friendly service.
