Kid-friendly vacation rentals in County Longford

Tom's cottage was everything we could have hoped for and more. The cozy atmosphere, crackling fireplace, and delightful Christmas decorations made our stay feel magical. The picturesque view from the windows was stunning, and Linda’s personal touches were evident throughout the property. A perfect holiday retreat!

The Shannonside was the perfect accommodation. A beautiful home in a lovely location. The house was extremely well equipped with all the essentials. The host, David, even provided a starter pack of bread, butter, carrot cake, coffees, biscuits, etc., so we were able to settle right in. The location is very nice near the water but also very central for traveling. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would readily book again.

We didn't spend too much time in the house as we were away at an event but the house was very spacious with big bedrooms and would suit a group of friends or large family very well. House was clean and Patricia greeted us upon arrival to show us around also. If I'm ever down this way again I would definitely stay

Claire was amazing! so quick to reply and even purchased a new BBQ free I inquired if there was 1!!! now that's service. place looks exactly like the photos. beds were comfy. only noise was the birds and the lambs ☺️. 10 minutes walk to the local pub and shop. 10 minutes in Longford town. thanks again for everything Claire. look forward to visiting again

Lovely quiet location short walk to Lough Rynn castle where we attended a wedding.The house was well equipped spotlessly clean and beds were very comfortable Chris also left supplies for breakfast as well as little treats. Thank you Chris

It was a nice staying in Sarah’s spacious, beautifully decorated apartment. Everything was as described and shown on the pictures. The apartment was ideal to explore different surroundings as it‘s close to both nature and little villages.

The stay was very pleasant. There was a nice little basket of food which was greatly appreciated. It was a nice area to stay, very quiet and private. Very clean and cosy. Loved our night here and would recommend

Everything was really a very pleasant experience! The descriptions and pictures were spot on! Fergus is such a down to earth person that is there to help with whatever questions or needs you might have. It is definitely off the beaten path but we found that added to the charm. Overall it was more than we expected and you can’t go wrong booking with Fergus!

Would highly recommend, the views from the place are stunning and it was fantastic to be able to wake up to views of the River Shannon. Lanesborough is a nice little town, would recommend the Italian restaurant that has just recently opened there and the supermarket is very good. A very peaceful and relaxing experience.

Upon arrival, Gerry met us and gave us a tour of our accommodations. He also provided us with pertinent information about the town, places to eat/visit. The accommodations were well appointed and very clean. Throughout our stay, Gerry was quick to respond to any of our queries. Definitely recommend staying at his airbnb.

Irish cottage dream!! ... that is how I would describe Toddy's. I stayed in the Hideaway in the back and it was just like the pictures. Perfect for 1 or 2 people. A very comfortable bed, kitchenette and everything you need. The location is close enough to drive to Ballinagh (or a long walk) and Cavan Town, and private and peaceful. You wake up in the morning to gorgeous views and sheep in the next field. I also had a peek into the cottage as it wasn't booked and would love to stay there next time! Aishling was VERY responsive and proactive and appeared within the minute when I needed some help. Great job Aishling!

We stayed at the apartment for a month and can highly recommend it! Comfortable beds, nice surroundings, well functioning kitchen & bathroom. All in all a great experience!

We had a wonderful stay and rented the full space—perfect for our family. Michael and Nicola are everything Airbnb was meant to be: warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Unlike many hosts these days who are remote owners, they live on-site and truly care about their guests. They greeted us with enthusiasm and gave great tips on local sights. Our 6-year-old daughter had an amazing time playing with their daughter (also 6). The property is very family-friendly with a zip line, tennis court, playhouse, trampoline, and two friendly dogs who acted as our guides on peaceful walks. The private suite was quiet and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. This was a personal, memorable experience—highly recommended!

Super cute 1 bedroom stay. The apartment was very clean and spacious, and Caroline was super quick to answer any questions!

My friends came from Latvia for couple of days to visit and this was an amazing place for them to stay. Gerry is amazing host, always responsive and helpful. Everything is near by, shops, coffee places, restaurants and even cinema. Car parking is available nearby. Place felt like home,warm and cosy 😌✨️Highly recommended 💕

A really lovely, clean and spacious apartment in a superb location looking directly out onto the Shannon. A nice quiet spot with Glancy's Bar close by and the rest of Carrick just a short walk over the bridge. The apartment is immaculate and very stylish and Susan left us with fresh milk, orange juice, chocolate, tea, coffee, etc. The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels and plenty of storage space. Contact with Susan was great, initially using Airbnb messaging and then by phone and whats-app. She also left us a list of pubs, restaurants and things to do. We thought the cost was quite high but it's not bad when split between the 5 of us and it's on a par with whatever else is available in Carrick - and we were lucky to get it because there wasn't that much available - Carrick is a very popular place! Overall we had a fantastic stay, wouldn't hesitate to recommend Susan and would look forward to staying again if we return.

I had a super great time at Niamh's place!! They were super helpful in getting there and back and were very communicative. The place was super cute and clean, and the pets were adorable and very very sweet. I would totally stay here again and can't recommend it enough!!

It was honestly so relaxing , so nice to get away very scenic and tranquil area , the pod was so homely and warm overall 10/10 will return !!

I enjoyed my two night stay in Cormac’s so much, I felt so at home. Everything was perfect, the views looking out through the old sash windows of an old mill and the canal literally steps from the front door with the most peaceful walks. There are plenty of amenities in the village and the village itself feels very safe, welcoming & old-worldly - it’s incredibly pretty. The apartment itself has a beautiful stone & brick front which you can see from the photos and inside huge sash windows creating an airy feel. The apartment was super clean like it was brand new with everything you would need. I slept very well both nights. The bathroom is generous in size and the shower is a real treat! Not only is it a big wet space it has a huge, powerful shower with double shower head & easy to work. There was of hot water at all times during my stay, not just in the morning. Cormac has the heating of the apartment set just perfect so it was never cool or too hot. I highly recommend!

Gerry and Josephine were the most fabulous hosts! Gerry stayed in contact in the lead up to our visit and kept me updated with things we needed to know. He greeted us (with his lovely dogs) on arrival and gave some really helpful recommendations on restaurants and taxis. The place was spotless and we had everything we needed. We had the best stay and will definitely be back!

Loretta’s guesthouse is very high level quality for Airbnb. I have stayed in many Airbnbs but none were anywhere near as good as this one. It is absolutely beautiful and the photos don’t do it enough justice. It is extremely clean, practical and beautiful. Loretto is an extremely welcoming host. What a pleasure to have met her. I can understand the previous reviews where someone said she didn’t want to leave. The bed is very comfy and made up with exquisite linen. The sitting/sun room looks out onto the well kept garden. A pure slice of heaven. We HIGHLY recommend it. 🌸🌼

Really enjoyed our stay here. The place was immaculate, beds were super comfy. Decor in the apartment was gorgeous. Declan and his son were lovely and Most of the local people were really friendly and helpful. Pubs, shop, lovely cafe and takeaway a stones throw away. So perfect spot for a weekend away. Short drive to the Hill of Uisneach, and close enough to Mullingar and Athlone. Thanks for having us Declan. We really enjoyed our stay. Janice & Karen,

We had an amazing stay at Eileen’s place. Would highly recommend! It was absolutely spotless clean with all the amenities you could need! A lovely quiet & peaceful place to relax and unwind! Would definitely stay here again!
