Vacation rentals with an accessible height bed in County Durham

beautiful little cottage in a nice secluded area , had everything we needed whilst visiting family in the area . will be back again.

Me and my friends had the most wonderful stay at this charming Airbnb in Bowes! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The property is beautifully maintained, full of character, and set in such a peaceful, picturesque location—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and thoughtful, providing great local recommendations and making sure everything was just right. The cottage was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed, including some lovely personal touches that made it feel extra special. I can’t recommend it highly enough and would absolutely love to return one day!

House was beautiful and decorated to a high standard. Plenty of space throughout the property, beds were exceptionally comfortable and it was very clean. Location was great. Communication from the company was good. Hot tub was an added bonus however when we arrived the temperature hadn’t been set to its maximum, therefore we couldn’t use it the first night as it took hours to get to maximum temperature. This should be ready for people to use upon arrival. Kitchen utensils generally good however we cooked a roast dinner and would have found oven gloves helpful. There was only x1 tea towel which wasn’t enough. Dishwasher tabs and a cloth provided, however no surface spray so difficult to keep surfaces clean. At present building work is happening outside the house and it would have been useful to be notified about this. We felt uncomfortable using the hot tub in the day as the builders could see into the hot tub. They were lovely though. In summary I would recommend Heather Cottage.

Just got home from a lovely weekend at Michael's place. It was cosy, quirky and beautifully decorated (reminded us a little of The Funky Monk). The stained glass window is stunning. We had everything we needed and more and the extra touches were very thoughtful and added to a lovely stay. The bathroom is just beautiful. We were lucky and managed to park outside the property and didn't realise just how close the high street was located. We will definitely recommend. Many thanks for a fab stay.

Our 3rd stay at the Corner Cottage could not have been better. We are from this area but have now lived in Vancouver for many years, and usually stay for a month each year as a central location to visit our family and friends. Jean is a wonderful host and the location is central with easy, walkable access all Wolsingham has to offer and also to Durham and the dales. We enjoyed the pristine cottage which was warm and comfortable. Also, car parking is provided , there is an easy access shower and a big , comfortable bed... all priorities for us. Thank you for another great long stay. We'll be back!
