Casa da Encosta is located in the picturesque Aldeia do Penedo, on the hills of Sintra facing the Atlantic. The nearby beaches (Adraga, Praia Grande, Praia das Maçãs and others) are just 5 km away. This two bedroom house (plus a mezzanine) dates from the 1930’s and was passionately renovated in 2023 by Katrin Kaasa and Duarte Amaral Netto, your hosts. The house maintains the spirit of a cabin (low ceiling in the kitchen and some doors) but was carefully designed for comfort and stylish details.

It is the former City Hall building, former Court and is located on archaeological soil in what is thought to be the first castle of Sintra, built before the year 1000. It was fully rehabilitated in 2024, and aims to provide our guests with the best experiences, in a calm and engaging location.
