The Smithy on the Square

LindaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The Smithy could not be more beautiful or more comfortable. It is the prettiest little house with a window box overflowing with petunias in the prettiest little English country square you could imagine (like something Disney would make up but better) with the ‘big house’ through the gates at one end of the square and a picture perfect church and pub the other end. The beds are huge and so comfortable. The garden is perfect for eating and sitting out in and I loved the kitchen which took me back in time to simpler, happy times (although please don’t get the wrong idea, everything is modern, clean, works and is up to date!). It just has a lovely nostalgic feel to it, perhaps because it reminded me of happy childhood times in my grandmother’s house, sitting at the kitchen table. I spent one afternoon cooking in it and feeling really relaxed ‘at home’ in a way that it isn’t always possible to feel at home! My husband and our Canadian cousins walked to Canterbury along the Pilgrims Way.

Perfect accommodation and host. Location is great for Canterbury and neighbourhood is super lovely, peaceful and safe. Felt comfortable and relaxed as soon as entered accommodation, beautifully decorated throughout and everything carefully considered for guests. We really appreciated the welcome treats and being able to use the bikes to cycle into the nearby woods. We would love to stay again in the future and highly recommend staying here.

Romantic countryside hideaway

SarahRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Probably the best air bnb I've stayed at in the UK. This is such a romantic little get away, private, stunning views, and a little home that has a gorgeous hotel feel to it whilst being self contained. The hot tub and fireplace an absolutely cherry on the top, easy to use, well set up, and private. To top it all off Tracy is a wonderful host. Warm and friendly, equally to humans and dogs! I've already re-booked for summer :)

No. 5 Bligh's Yard - Central Canterbury

Myself, partner and Pomeranian pup stayed here for one night and it was perfect. Small, as described and pictured but spotlessly clean and in the centre on Cantebury town. A great place to stay if in the area! Thank you
