Cottage vacation rentals in Cedar Lake

Wow, what a gem! This place was charming, spacious, neat, with a great backyard and conveniently situated within 15 minutes of anything you could need or want. This is not your bare minimum cut and paste Airbnb—the beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable and luxurious, the decor was unique, the space was toddler friendly, and the kitchen was very well stocked. A great stay for a group overall, we’ll be back!

This was such a beautiful and relaxing weekend getaway for my friend and I and our pups. The cottage was so cozy, more spacious than expected, and very well maintained. Frank was great at communicating the house rules and everything was laid out clearly. It was clearly off-season for Lakeside because the area was very quiet which was a big bonus for us. We enjoyed some long walks with the dogs and took them to the beach in the evenings to see the sun go down. We also enjoyed soaking in the hot tub and working on the puzzle at the cottage. Would love to come again soon! Thank you Frank!

We loved our stay! The cottage was so cute and very clean. It is in a residential area, but still feels very private. The neighborhood was quiet. The outside/backyard area is amazing. We could walk everywhere (restaurants, shops, beach, market, etc…). We did not get into our car once from when we parked it until we left. Nancy was so nice to work with. She called us on our way there to let us know the hot tub motor was not working. That was not a big deal us, but she was proactive in telling us and she had it fixed by the next day. We would 100% recommend staying here and might book it again ourselves.

We had a great stay! Great location, near New Buffalo and Union Pier attractions. The house was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for our group. The back patio was perfect, a lot of seating and the hot tub. We’ll look to stay here again next time we’re headed to New Buffalo

Great place for a large group of people! Although it is surrounded by other homes, the trees behind the property give it a very private feel. It is a quick walk to the beach which is very convenient. All of the neighbors were very kind to our group as we walked around. We tried out the New Mexican restaurant down the street and it was delicious. This was one of Sylwia’s recommendations. She did a great job of giving us a list of things to do around the area before we arrived. There’s 2 train stations very close, which we utilized to get to Chicago. It was about an hour trip and very convenient to get the Portage/Ogden Dunes Station from the Airbnb. We were a little worried about the location considering Gary does not have the best reputation, but it was closer to Portage, and in a very safe area. We never once felt unsafe. All in all, Sylwia was great, the Airbnb was great, and I would recommend her listing!!

This house was a great weekend retreat for our family. It comfortably slept 6 (plus an infant). The beds were super comfy and the house was outfitted with everything we needed. The host was very communicative and even left us some brownies! We were happy to make use of the beach toys, the hot tub, the fire pit, AND the community house/pool. The neighbors are very close, so there is not a ton of privacy. But it’s a quiet neighborhood. We appreciated the options for both staying in/nearby and driving to nearby New Buffalo. (The neighborhood bakery is a must!) Renters should note that there are only two TVs in the house and they are in common areas. We actually prefer fewer so it wasn’t an issue for us, but I know some are accustomed to TVs in bedrooms! Bonus! There was an actual coffee grinder in the kitchen!

Great place! Description and photos matched. Located on a quiet street - very peaceful. Walking distance to the beach and steps from a great pizza spot. We drove to New Buffalo quite a bit and was only an 8 min drive. The beach was about a 10 min walk. Overall, I would recommend.

Perfect couples getaway. We were there in off season so nice and quiet. Great lake views. Hubby was fishing off the dock everyday and I sat on the covered back porch looking at the lake and enjoying my book. Very clean! Great grocery store a few minutes away! Strack & Van Til. Great dinner at the Lighthouse just 5 minutes away. Very nice affordable winter weekend getaway. Jent was amazing. Quick response to questions. There's a piano that's in tune that I missed in the pictures. Would have brought some sheet music.

Had a fantastic stay here (our second year in a row), and it was just as good as we remembered! Came with my husband, 2 young kids, and dog - and everyone loved our trip. The house, yard, games, and location were all perfect! And hosts were very communicative.

Patrick’s place is a rare find. Extraordinary Airbnb! It’s the most thoughtfully supplied kitchen. We enjoyed cooking brunch looking out on the park trails. We were lucky with perfect weather, which added to the loveliness. I know the area, to me the location is perfect…especially if you like long pretty walks. We had a fantastic stay! Super close to the Lake, which is just what we wanted. House looked exactly as pictured. Most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Overall, a great experience.

What a beautiful location! Loved all the trees, beautiful yard to play games, super big fire pit, deck and grill was spotless! The inside was nice and spacious for the size. Great kitchen and bathrooms. The basement was large! We had an incredible time. Would come back for a longer vacation!

Very thoughtfully appointed home. Absolutely great for anyone with Toddlers. The basement is set up for safe activities to burn off energy. There’s even a wonderful sauna for adults. Great open concept lots of light and privacy.

Great location in Union Pier and walkable to the lake and small downtown. Great house to spend a week or long weekend, Keith was super helpful and responsive.

Loved this cute little cottage! Very well decorated and the accommodations were great. Great location as well. Alannah and Nick were extremely accommodating and responsive. I would definitely visit again!

Louise's house is magical. I've never felt more at home in an Airbnb. The minute you open the door, you are surrounded by the beautiful colors in her gorgeous fabrics and rugs. Louise has thought of everything-from lots of towels (high humidity area and longer drying time), an incredibly well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, and lots of different seating areas and options. The screened in porch is beyond relaxing. Early mornings on the porch, listening to the birds, was my favorite way to start the day. The neighborhood beaches (15 minute walk) were private, quiet, and beautiful. Sunset at Stop 39 is the best. The beach town of New Buffalo is only a 10 minute drive, with fun rooftop restaurants and a larger beach. A farm for blueberry picking is also close by. We hope to return to Louise's again!

Desiree is the perfect host. The Oaks is a beautiful home with everything that we needed. I highly recommend this home. We were in Three Oaks for a wedding at the Journeyman and The Oaks is a great location for that wedding. We were able to walk to the venue. Three Oaks is such a cute town.

Third time staying here - we love this place. Brendon and Bryndal do an amazing job communicating and their place is always clean and in great shape. We like the walking areas near the house for our pup and the disc golf in Michigan City. Always a pleasure to visit - thanks

Stayed for a long weekend and the place was just what we needed. The location has plenty of privacy but is very close to the lake, Union Pier, Three Oaks and New Buffalo which provided plenty of things to do. Nature preserve within a 5 min walk of the house was a nice surprise. The house was well stocked with essentials, nicely decorated and up to date. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay! This house a bigger than it seems in the photos. Spacious living room perfect for spending time together after a day of walking the trails. Chris was a great host, always communicating and quick to respond to a message. Would definitely stay again.
