O apartamento foi o local de nascimento do pintor aguarelista Cunha Rocha (1932-2016). Foi construído no século XV encostado à muralha de defesa da cidade e, mais tarde, para além da muralha. Ainda hoje é possivel identificar a torre de defesa, onde atualmente se situa a cozinha.
